Dead Rising
I've been anticipating this game for months now and it's finally out so I picked it up last night. While I haven't even made it through 24 game hours(maybe all together but I'll get to that later) I think I have enough experience to semi-review it. The game is definately one of if not the best zombie game I have played, and mind you I have play Resident Evil 4. The game play is solid, and the weapons are greatly varied and fun to use. The problem is sometimes it's hard to find effective or good ones like you break your lead pipe and all you have left is a plastic giant sized lipstick tube. While that can be annoying, and is partially why I keep dieing and such it is still great fun to try them all out. Also, many weapons have fun extra uses, like I picked up a shower head, and if you use the primary attack it sticks in a zombies head and blood rains out, and if you snap a photo(more on photos later) it makes for a good shot. Also, the use of a parasol to plow through them, and vehichles(I've only gotten to a bike, a skateboard, and an open front lawnmower thus far but I hear there are cars and such) that mix it up. Now part of the reason I keep having to restart is the save points are a pain in the ass. So far I've only found 3 of them, and Ill be damned if there are more. They are either the bathroom stalls, or in the safe room, and the safe room is near enough to one of the two I found, and the second bathroom that I am currently saved at is in a hell feeling zone at times. However, that also leads to you having to have good planning. I also have only faced one boss like guy, but that was part of the main quest, but there are others like the crazy grocer, the nuts gun store owner, rampant convicts with a military grade jeep(mounted gun to boot) and chainsaw wielding clown(also nuts) But there are other side quests that involve saving survivors, I have yet to really do this because I am still having trouble with the fact that after 7:00 p.m. gametime it's a pain. After that their eyes glow, and the become more agressive, and I'm pretty sure there are more of them as well. But at least if you have good weapons it adds to your kill count. And then another fun part is the variety of costumes you can put yourself into, every thing from hats, and hairstyles, to dresses and kiddy clothes. But one more fault to the game is the fact that there is no minimap and whenever you get an update, via transiever(sp?) you have to stop moving and answer it, and then you can't even fight, and if yo get interrupted it gets reset. As for the photography, it is better then aiming a gun or throwing an item as you can move while you set up the shot as to avoid zombies, and can get any type of photo from brutality, to drama, to even erotic(even when photographing zombies ) All-in-all, if you have a 360 and love zombies and such it is a buy.
Damn, I wrote more then I thought I would.

I'm glad to hear a good review! I've also been waiting for the game for quite a while now.

It doesn't make me want to get a 360, but if I get one next year like I plan, I'll probably pick this up.

Well Melty, this and Oblivion are great alone, and by this Holiday season there will be plenty more reasons. By the way, I forgot to mention that there is an xp system in the game, and up to 50 levels and skills you can gain. But if you want other reviews IGN gave it an 8.3 and the readers gave it 8.6 and Team Xbox gave it an 8.7
Edit: Also one more gripe, outside of cutscenes there is no other voice acting, aside from small one liners from characters or from you calling people you save. The rest of the text is in a box at the bottom of the screen and if you're fighting while someone talks you may miss it.

Well, except most of the other reasons I would by it (Including Oblivion) are going to also be PC games. And I'd much MUCH rather have Oblivion for the PC.

I really wouldn't buy an X-Box for Oblivion. The game needs some heavy modding IMO. And that's only possible on the PC version.

I won't buy a 360 for Dead Rising, but when Bio-Shock and Mass Effect hit next year I'll definitely be picking up all 3 games and a 360.
