Default The Freak Hunt!

THE FREAK HUNT!

What's going on? Our new Mega Monitor is almost completed, but not quite! Other Tech salvage has been consumed recently, invested into other projects or components. But the Mega Monitor is still almost within our grasp! And the only thing between not having a Mega Monitor and having a Mega Monitor is one (1) Freakshow Cybernetic salvage item.

So how do you plan on getting one? Why, with a Freak Hunt, of course! We gather every Malice in Wonderland member we can find (along with any non-Wonderlanders who just feel like tagging along), we unleash the hounds of Hell and we chase down and beat down every last Freak we can find! And we don't stop until we find those Freakshow Cybernetics! If anyone has missions where we can find Freaks, we'll take 'em! If anyone knows any choice hunting spots where we can streetsweep a ton of Freaks, we'll go there! And since Freakshow Cybernetics are third-tier salvage, the odds of finding them increase if we fight higher ranks and/or higher cons. Red-conning Tank Smashers are pretty much kill-on-sight. Of course, we can also increase our odds simply by crushing anybody with metal bits and a funny haircut who crosses our path. So let's do that.

Yeah? Well, why should we? Because whoever finds the magical Freakshow Cybernetic which completes our Mega Monitor can give it to any Councilor or Ringleader from Malice in Wonderland to claim one of the following rewards:

1) Any three Single Origin enhancements of any level, Bloodywedd's treat.
2) Promotion within the ranks of Malice in Wonderland (I'd like to make this promotion two ranks, since this item has been such a pain to find, but Kryo and Alone would be within their rights to veto that decision).
3) Automatic membership with Malice in Wonderland, if you're on the outside and you want in. If Kryo and Alone have no problem with the notion, I'd like to place the new initiate at the second rank as well...again, because this item has been such a pain to find. And I've already been nuking every Freak I come across....
4) Bloodywedd's sack lunch. It's pastrami on ciabatta, some mayonnaise pasta salad and a pickle. Really good.

Okay, I'm sold. Where do I sign up? Below. Simply state your name and threat level. We don't need to know your Archetype; We'll simply assume that you kick ass no matter what you are. We're more interested in being able to match everybody up with a lackey or a malefactor in order to keep the level gaps as small as possible; A team spanning ten threat levels won't be able to rustle up any salvage, after all.

In the event that we have more than eight Villains sign up, I'm sure we can ask Kryo and/or Alone to lead any extra hunting parties that we need to form. Can we count on you two?

And when is it?
Sunday, July 9th, 6:00-8:00 PM Central

Did you get that? Good. Now stop asking.

If Kryo and Alone have no problems with it, I'd also like to promote any MiW members who show up and stay for the entire two hours, just as an incentive to get your jammy butts busy. Yes, it has to be the entire two hours. No, I don't care if you suddenly have to take your dog to the vet and you have to deliver a baby before you rush off to dinner; You're not getting credit for the two hours. Of course, this doesn't apply if we actually find the Freakshow Cybernetic before those two hours are up; There's no point in sticking around after that. "Enjoy your promotion, and thank you for your support. I'm off to build our new Mega Monitor now...."

And no, this doesn't stack with the reward for finding the Freakshow Cybernetic; Simply ignore this reward if that happens. Sure, you can swoop in an hour late, nab the Cybernetic within the first five minutes of joining the team and get the same promotion as the guys who were there from the get-go would have received, but you see, you won by a fluke of chance; they still had the greater odds of finding the Cybernetic simply by spending more time hunting for it from 6:00 onward. There's your incentive to be punctual right there.

We'll see you there!

Nightfire or Darkfire? I'm pretty sure that they're different levels.
