I need some Power/Archetype recommendations
Howdy folks!
Well, with my minor comeback onto the CoV/CoH scene, I need some good recommendations for some good builds; what has worked the best for players.
ANY and ALL archetypes are appreciated.
I don't want to slog too much through slow play; I tend to choose the supposedly "worse" combos (according to a few Power players). This does not mean I won't shy away from these choices, but I'd at least like a strong Villian or Two before I set out with other choices.
Actually, I would prefer recommendations for some sort of long-range Dominator or Corruptor type. I would like a Melee type as well, but that is secondary for the moment. Actually, I prefer Melee, but I would want a Master Archvillian of some sort, even a Mastermind.
Thanks for the help, even if it is posted somewhere already in these forums, I am WAY behind!
Gold Rush
(And if someone needs their very own archevillian, I'd have to be coerced to that end, too)

Well, Mind/Mind Dominators are very fun, and fairly effective. As far as a corruptor, most of the primary powers are good, but the secondary depends on if you want an effective team player or a better soloer.

Woo!
Woo. Cool. Have to look into Mind/Psionic then.
For the Corruptor, while I wouldn't mind to group help, I tend to solo alot. A bit too much, but it's cool. So solo recomenndations are appreciated.

Brutes are really good for soloing, and can have an effective PVP build too.

I think he meant corruptor builds that are better for soloing.

I think that Mind/Mind Dominators are probably the FOTM Dom Builds but they are rather effective IMHO. As for Corruptor, I've only brought up two thus far and only between levels 2/5 but I've found Sonic/Dark and Energy/Sonic to be viable options, then again I don't play unmethodically, if I know I can't beat a mob, I start running, early.

Dark/* corruptors can hit REALLY hard with their early sniper attack. Don't be afraid to throw a interrupt enhancement into it, and use it even in melee range... if you are fighting only 1 or 2 mobs, its pretty easy to get the sniper attack off between hits... but that's a bit more of a solo build... in groups you don't have time (usually) to snipe too much.
My quick advice for Brutes.... skip damage enhancements (at least early on) and go for recharge reduction and accuracy enhancements. Also PICK YOU FIRST (faster) ATTACK... Brutes rely on Fury... so the faster you attack the faster you build up Fury... and Fury == Damage
right now, Energy Aura tends to be considered a bit weaker than the other defenses for Brutes. Also people seem to REALLY love Dark and Fire, due to their AoE toggle attacks, which start kicking butt once you get your fury high.

Brutes are right up beside Scrappers for role of "ultimate melee character". The difference is mostly cosmetic, with scrappers having more stylish attacks while brutes have more, well... brutish attacks.
Any Brute power combo is decent. Allthough Energy Armour seems to be lagging a bit behind in survivability since it's Def-based.

I really like my Claw/Ninjitsu Stalker. Once you hit level 6 and grab you Assassin move, you can pretty much one-shot anything yellow and under (for the most part), making solo missions a breeze. I had to raise my difficulty up one notch at lvl 8 cuz it was so dang easy.
Since every Stalker gets Hide at level 1, its also a blessing for traveling till you get to 14.
As far as Dominators, Fire/Fire seems very powerful so far (lvl 7), though I waited to get Incinerate untill lvl 6. Definetly recomended.
