Default Ignemae: The Ties That Damn

Born to who was believed to be the most powerful precognitive woman ever known by MAGI, the hero known as Ignemae always admired her Mother’s abilities and looked forward to finding her own through her dedicated studies. Neither her Mother nor Ignemae’s real names seem to be possible to find, most likely because her Mother knew that her daughter would one day need a tremendous amount of anonymity. It was thought that there wasn’t a part of the future that Ignemae’s Mother didn’t know, and though it gave her immeasurable possible power and abilities, she never succumbed to using it aside from helping to guide others with what wisdom she felt it helpful for them to know.

At her death, Ignemae was devastated, and felt as though she was a failure since she had still been unable to utilize the Sight that her Mother had always told her she would have. She received a letter as she went to her Mother’s funeral and, as the outside of the letter had instructed, opened it just before the gathering began. She cried tears of joy as she saw, written in a letter from her own Mother and delivered to her at the exact time before the funeral the words she planned to say about her Mom, and went to the podium and read from the heartfelt letter that was sent to help keep Ignemae strong.

It wasn’t long after the funeral that Ignemae was taken under the wing of a powerful Magus that was quite adapt at aiding struggling users of magicks to develop a method to better use their abilities and powers. He could sense an unusual form of prediction within Ignemae, and was himself curious as to what exactly it was that she could do. He then set out to ensure that his newest student had most of his attention with a feeling that she had a very interesting gift to learn.

Ignemae finally had a breakthrough with her powers as she was able to peer into another reality, similar to her own in many regards but a paradise in its life-styles and freedom from war as was known here. In only a few moments she found the reality so beautiful that she let her mental guard down, seeing no real threat that could be possible from such a beautiful world. It was then that she met the Ignemae from that reality, who had a similar gift, but was far from a good person. Ignemae soon found herself opening holes into that reality throughout the world, causing nuclear weapons that had been lost or stolen to appear in the reality she was viewing. Unaware that her alternate self was using her for this purpose, Ignemae watched on as her counterpart started a war by predicting that other countries had weapons that were unthinkable, and were drawn through an unsuspecting Ignemae herself.

Watching in horror, Ignemae fought her counterpart to keep the nuclear weapons from going off, but was not yet capable enough to beat the more experienced version of herself and witnessed several nuclear explosions wipe out nearly a quarter of that Earth’s inhabitants. She could feel her other self pulling more and more nuclear and other powerful weapons through her, along with plans for the making of them but was unable to stop them from appearing in this other world, an act that this other Ignemae used to provide the world with its own demise. Sensing that her counterpart had done this on other worlds using various means, Ignemae reached into her own reality and attempted to stop herself from being used further by pulling aspects of a world that had developed much faster into the building she, her Magus, and the unknowing students of MAGI studying there to cause it’s wood to become rotted, the metal rusted through, and the foundation crumbling. Ignemae separated herself from the reality she viewed in time to watch the building coming down on her and swore she would make sure she was never used again in such a way by ending her own life.

What she hadn’t counted on was her Magus having the ability to transport himself and others through dimensional gateways to allow teleportation, and as the building came closer she saw several flashes of the students she didn’t want to harm but felt no choice to try and stop her alternate reality counterpart from using her disappear along with her and her Magus and reappear in a magically shielded safe house of MAGI. When she awoke, she could not snap out of the trauma that was inflicted upon her and could only babble and ask for forgiveness from everyone that came near as she watched many of them die in the other world she knew was now destroyed and uninhabitable. She couldn’t tell how she knew without using her Sight, but she could feel that reality within her as its electromagnetic storms raged and its surface continually burned. Seeing her in such a state, her Magus used his powers to remove the memory from Ignemae’s mind and told her afterwards that she had done something very bad, but that he would return the memories of it to her when he felt she was strong enough to do so.

This didn’t end Ignemae’s problems, though. The divinations of Azuria of MAGI showed her what kind of danger Ignemae could possibly present, and though the Magus’s abilities shielded Ignemae’s memory and actions from others as well as herself, Azuria could see that Ignemae was a danger that could not be allowed to be free. A counsel was convened to determine the young Seer’s fate. Within a short deliberation, it was determined that Ignemae would be imprisoned in every reality she still existed in that she would have the power to affect until her Magus could guarantee to the counsel that Ignemae would never again be able to cause such destruction. Believing that she would soon be able to control her ties with realities in time, her Magus agreed and Ignemae was imprisoned in hundreds of thousands of alternate realities as well as her own. She lived out hundreds of years in only a couple of days through this and against Azuria’s wishes was freed after an extensive divining showed that it was almost impossible for her to do something of that magnitude again.

With her mind wiped of exactly what had happened, but the punishment weighing heavily on her, Ignemae was released and urged by her Magus to pursue crime-fighting as a super hero. His hopes were that by strengthening her powers and gaining more of a mastery of them, that she would be unable to be unwillingly used to transport or affect any reality unless she allowed it directly. He pushed her to be very daring, to not stay in the back as many with the abilities to fire blasts would, and Ignemae found herself quickly developing instinctual defenses that helped her survive more “up close” encounters. It wasn’t long before Ignemae was well known and respected as an accomplished and very tactical Blaster-category heroine. She immediately loved helping others, and began developing a formidable willpower and was able to utilize aspects of other realities to do many things. By reaching to an Earth that had never developed stable magnetic fields, she could fly; by partially stepping in between realities, she could become concealed and even invisible or phased, depending on how much of “her” she left in our reality; and combined with the other versions of herself she became much more formidable physically as well, healing faster as wounds were spread over her “selves” and having vast reserves of power also.

The only troubling thing that lingered about Ignemae’s past was how her powers seemed to work on her main abilities: she could draw vast amounts of electromagnetic energy and intense fires into this reality with ease. It came to her much more readily than any other of her abilities. Her Magus, in a rare agreement with Azuria, used their combined divination abilities to seek out the true source of her powers to see why these two abilities were so easily channeled by Ignemae. They saw the now-dead planet that she had helped destroy, and saw its numerous nuclear attacks had caused a continuous and nearly planet-wide thunder storm. Also left in abundance on the planet were massive fires caused by the gargantuan lightning strikes as they continued to burn and destroy what little was even left of the once pristine world. Azuria once again requested that Ignemae be imprisoned as she could easily see what possible damage the young woman could do, and asked that she be given Arch-Villain status as well. Fortunately, her Magus was able to persuade the powerful Diviner into letting Ignemae try to turn her destructive potential into a force for good. While no one is sure what was said and why Azuria went from condemning Ignemae to allowing her to grow even stronger, it is rumored that a letter arrived while they debated, and was signed by Ignemae’s very Mother stating simply, “Please, my Daughter will be a hero.”

It has been many years for the woman known only as Ignemae; her true name erased and known only by her Magus and a few top members of MAGI, and she has shown herself to be a steadfast opponent of every villain she has met. As she grew stronger, she helped form a Super Group of heroes from all over Paragon City known as the Legends Requiem.

Still wishing to follow in her Mother’s footsteps, Ignemae continued to explore and divine into alternate realities even though she was not a Seer for MAGI anymore, until she was finally re-instated after she was assigned to help heroes gather up the Wheel of Destruction magical artifact. When Ignemae was handed the enchanted and powerful item, her powers increased to the point where she wanted to keep the device and use her powers in whatever way she pleased. Her closest friend, Steel Vendetta, was one of the heroes there at the time; and was able to help her gain control of herself after only a short talk. Her ability to withstand such a powerful temptation, as well as her quick return to her senses proved to Azuria and her Magus that she was ready to begin finding her true potential, and she was reinstated as a Seer for MAGI.

Recently, Ignemae’s abilities have risen a great deal. While she has found it more and more easily to manipulate most aspects of alternate realities and bring them to use in our reality, she has found her former ability to teleport others, and then herself fail her. Unknown to her, this was an act that Crey had performed to ensure she never brought an alternate reality person that could be used to discredit Crey industries when they saw with their own portal technology that not everyone is the same in all realities. Her strength now nearly to the point of surpassing the memory block’s power level and so her memories were returned to her incrementally. She is now fully aware of what she did, what she could do, and why some members of MAGI dislike her. Even with this burden Ignemae moves forward and has proven herself time and again that she will never allow herself to be used for harm ever again.

Default The Subtle Art of Sabotage (A Lesson Learned by Crey Industries)

The following is our best retelling of what happened between a recent attempt to verify some of our newly purchased information on Ignemae, and has since caused chaos throughout Crey Industries, nearly inciting a "witch-hunt" and has been finally terminated by Countess Crey herself. Authorization for retaliation is pending a reasonable method for retribution. - Agent Skaris

The agent was so nervous he couldn’t stop his hands from shaking. He was sent on many assignments to try and gather information on the various heroes of Paragon City, but this assignment scared him. He’d dealt with heroes that could rip apart steel, who could heal from point-blank hits from high-energy fusion guns and even heroes that could kill someone by pointing at them and unleashing a blast of various dangers. Though Ignemae was the latter, he wasn’t scared that she could electrocute him with her pinky, he was scared because of her non-offensive powers: she can see into thousands of alternate realities, many of which are almost identical to our own, and he was terrified she would know he was to gather information on her.

He was ordered to gather whatever intelligence he could, and it was advised he try and pry into her life by going to see her and engaging her services as a seer on his family to give him a chance to see how her “vision” worked, and gauge just how much she may know about things she wasn’t directly looking into. He felt safe for now, since even a licensed and respected hero wouldn’t be off the hook for frying someone asking for help, in fact he was quite sure that his employers were hoping she would so that they could try and imprison her through the City, and avoid any further problems with her.

Her eyes were unnerving as she approached him. They glowed with an eerie lightened reddish energy but he could very well see the piercing blue eyes fixed on him like a predator ready to go for the kill. He began to get so scared that he thought he would abort the mission and accept the punishment, and he knew that Crey Industries could do terrible things to him, when she motioned with her hand and of all things, smiled.

“There’s no need to be worried, Henry. I certainly know why you are here, and I must say I’m not happy about it. Still, your…company will find out what I’m about to tell you soon anyway, so; what would you like to know?”

Henry felt frozen, not because she knew who he was, but because she just offered him information that could very well lead him to his own office with an entire Intel team under him. He tried to remain calm, replying, “Well, for starters, what is your name? No one seems to know, not even by nearly all of MAGI.”

Smirking, Ignemae looked at him, and her eyes glowed slightly brighter as she said flatly, “Henry, I said you would find out from me the very things you will soon be able to know, and my full name isn’t one of those things…still, my first name is Maven. I am Romanian by birth, but I was moved to America when I was very young.” She could see that even with her statement being disappointing to him, that he was almost bursting at the prospect of finding out who Ignemae really was. She also knew that if they found out her name, Crey Industries would make sure that her hero status was revoked, and that she would once again be imprisoned and placed under Arch-Villain classification as a threat. She peered into the various realities where the same event she was now participating in and found the answer she felt was the best, told by another version of her to another Henry in a world much the same to this one. “You will not discover who I am with my first name, Henry. My Mother knew that one day I would need true anonymity, and she changed my name before it was known in the States. Searching Romania will not help you, either, as it wasn’t quite the technological marvel we live in now.”

Remembering his training and paying attention and memorizing every detail so he could report it to his superiors, and tried to get whatever else the Seer/Heroine would tell him as he probed, “So what else will you tell me? You seem to know what I’m going to ask anyway…”

“I know what you are likely to ask, to a very high degree, but I’m not omniscient. Do remember to spell it correctly, since you tend to get that word wrong so much.” Replied Ignemae, obviously enjoying getting a rare chance to creep out a member of a much feared company and then she returned to speaking, “Sadly, I wont say much more than that about myself because you and others at Crey have garnered enough about me for your databases and your other lists. I will tell you that I appreciate that you’ve stopped trying to test just how strong my powers are. To ‘repay’ that, as well as to help some of the other heroes that could be harmed from their possible actions; I wanted you to know that Jeffery Aronson is a spy in your network and actually works for the Rogue Isles. He’s gathering information about certain portal experiments in secret. If I were you, I would report this immediately, but I’m not…so you do what you want.”

With that, the Seer motioned that he would get no more from her. She watched as he left and hurriedly placed a call she hoped would set in motion a well developed plan. Once Henry was out of site, two very different women stepped from a room, one a bit over six feet tall, while the other stood at just over three feet. “Do you think he was eager enough for the promotions he wants to have bought that and report him, Ignemae?” Diamond Lillith asked, glancing down to Pixie Lady to let her know she wanted her input as well.

“Well,” Ignemae began, “in nearly all the realities I can see into, he’s blinded enough by his dislike for his current job as well as his greed and want for those possible promotions that he does report Jeffery Aronson and the outcomes are almost always the same; Henry, Jeffery and several others complicate Crey’s inner-workings for a while and a few heroes that would have fallen into their hands become safe. What I don’t understand is how Crey Industries doesn’t realize that Jeffery isn’t really a spy? Why did you want me to tell him that, Pixie, when Crey should simply do a check on him and find out he’s a loyal, if twisted employee?”

Smiling, Pixie Lady looked up to her friends, her own eyes glowing from her powerful mental energies effecting her physiology and sounded very pleased when she told them, “They do a check on him, and while Jeffery isn’t a spy, he is accessing alternate realities in an attempt to, of all things, find realities Crey Industries hopes will reveal some actual spies.” She continued after stifling a chuckle. ”I’ve read the mind of the person Henry reports him to, if Ignemae’s visions are correct, and he reacts before he finds out that Jeffery Aronson actually has permission from Countess Crey herself. Between firings and arranging ‘accidents’ for those they punish, Crey should be busy for some time coming if all goes well.”

The three heroines smiled and hoped their actions would keep Crey busy and distracted enough to disrupt and instill paranoia in their relations with some of these new arriving villains from the Rogue Isles. After shutting down Ignemae’s “shop” for her Seer work inside one of MAGI’s offices, the three members of the Legends Requiem left, moving to their next contacts in hopes of finding more villain gangs they could keep from aiding Paragon City’s latest threat.

Due to the damage caused and the near total disruption of several Crey Industries "enterprises" our Agents and Legal teams have been given full authority to do any and all necessary matters that will disrupt their lives, work, and social standings with the public and "Hero" community. These heroes are still wanted ALIVE and are not to be terminated as of this date. - From the desk of Countess Crey

Default Ignemae vs Operative 307 Hunter

The following took place between one of our own heroes, whom we call 307 Hunter and was sent to terminate Ignemae to keep her from further damaging our operations. Prior to Ignemae's electromagnetic pulse being released, we have only one clear view of the battle, sadly at its beginning, the fight and the happenings were taken from 307 Hunter himself.

Ignemae was on a patrol when she heard some of the first bullets go by and was lucky enough to see that in other realities she was being attacked by another "blaster" type hero that was working for Crey Industries. She shifted realities until her ability to fly was gone and fell just as the rocket Hunter had fired flew past where her head had just been and exploded nearly a dozen meters behind her.

As she fell, she looked around for the assailant that was attacking her. She knew they used weaponry, and her visions told her that they were well equipped by Crey Industries as well, but she didn't know where they could be. It wasn't until the repeated flashes of a fully automatic assault rifle went off that she thought to herself how foolish she had been to just hover there looking. The pain of the bullets was severe, even through the electrical shielding that she had protecting her and likely had just saved her life. She could see a few of the wounds were bleeding and knew she wouldn't be alive for long if she didn't get to the offensive soon.

As her opponent, a man that was wearing what looked to be a headless version of the Paragon Protector's suit with a few modifications began to cloak himself once again she pulled the force of an electromagnetic pulse through her body and sent it everywhere, praying no other heroes were close to her that relied on unshielded technology to fly or she'd be going back to the defensive trying to rescue them, and with that thought, hoped that Crey hadn't found a way to completely shield their suits from this magnitude of an EMP.

307 Hunter felt the massive surge of electromagnetic power rush through his body, and only the shielding implanted around his skull kept him from passing out, but his suit warned him through his nervous system that it was shutting down and fast. "All systems will begin rebooting sequence immediately, Landing rockets programmed to fire on command…" was the last thing that 307 Hunter "heard" from his suit as he began falling, watching Ignemae taking up a flying attack stance from above. He had to keep his head very focused, he knew if he thought only about the ground that this electric witch would fry him before his suit would recover, and if he focused too much on her that he'd be too hurt by an improper landing. With that, he reflexively opened fire with a full clip of depleted uranium bullets, spraying the area above him and then quickly looking down as he fired his emergency rockets almost too late and sent him skidding across the ground and knocking out several Freakshow wannabes that were discussing some improvement or other. He finally slid to a stop very close to a car that was parked near the highway entrance to Founders Falls and manually helped his suit reboot as he watched Ignemae coming his way looking very hurt.

The bullets that flew at her were random and wild, but that made them so much harder to avoid. It took only one to know that Crey was serious this time in their attempts to stop her as the bullet pierced her electric shielding and tore through her inner left calf, making her scream as she lost a bit of control and began falling for fear that she would merge with her other "selves" from different realties. It could be a good idea and would definitely save her, but she wanted answers from this person that her Seer's gifts likely wouldn't provide. She watched as he bowled over several Freakshow and slid next to a car.

Bleeding and feeling it hard to concentrate, Ignemae was cautious even though her opponent was on his back, staring at her mouthing words, likely to his own suit. She hovered a bit above the ground and was ready to cage him in a tesla field when she finally noticed the bomb he'd dropped while sliding along the ground as it de-cloaked to explode. She focused all her energy into her shield, but felt such pain that she screamed and flew towards her opponent, landing in a smoldering heap of electricity dancing over her body and some of her clothes burned and smoking.

"All systems fully restored. Suggested routine to win the battle is to act quickly and disable this hero now, as she has previously been found to merge with alternate selves to heal her as well as gain added power. Lethal force recommended." 307 Hunter's suit warned him as he stood and readied his gun and began to take aim. "You shouldn't have left your Arch-Villain status behind, or I'd have no problem taking you in to the City officials alive with non-lethal ammo, Ignemae, but Crey gave me enough motivation to just kill you...nothing personal." He said as he noticed her electrical aura had faded as he stood, and was aiming at the back of her head and beginning to squeeze the trigger.

Ignemae heard the words but wasn't listening to them fully; she'd called upon her Seer's gifts and found two things that were all she needed to know. One was this "hero" was called Operative 307 Hunter, and the second was that a water main was only six inches below her and traveled under the car behind him. She looked up as she knew he was about to pull the trigger and released her full power into the ground, hoping that it worked like it did in almost half the realities where she was in a similar problem. The electrical blast raged through the pipe and water in the direction that she'd pushed it towards, and as she'd seen in other realities, burst right under the car, spewing it with both tremendous water but more so turned it into a very powerful, if only temporary electromagnet and flung 307 Hunter backwards into the car. His shot went wide but cut Ignemae's cheek and knocked his head backwards against the car's hardtop, dizzying him for a moment.

307 Hunter was impressed, but knew he was going to recover before his opponent did. He'd underestimated the uses for electricity or he'd have assaulted her in a different area. As he regained his composure he saw her injecting a stimulant into her leg, both likely to help her fight on as well as to keep her alive through adrenaline but it wouldn't be enough, he didn't need his suit to tell him that the aimed shot she was readying on her knees wasn't going to hit him. He steadied his rifle once more and took aim at Ignemae.

Ignemae fought past the pain and fired the blast straight into the gas tank of the car, hoping she'd have enough power to detonate it, and watched it explode and drop her opponent a few feet ahead of her. "Ok, Operative 307 Hunter...why did you attack me?! Crey pays that well for my death? I haven't been listed as an Arch-Villain for over six years! Why did you do this? Answer me!" the woman screamed as she kicked his gun away and readied a very powerful blast aimed four inches from his head.

He looked up and smiled, "Not everyone agrees that you're a good guy, Ignemae." He said painfully, thinking she may very well kill him and give herself real problems with the City Government. Maybe he hadn't failed after all? Then she unleashed a powerful blast that started frying his suit in all of it's non-lethal areas, flight, weapon control, cloaking, even strength enhancement.

"You're going to answer me one way or another." the exhausted woman said, wondering why he was still smiling. She screamed as his transponder, attached to his heart and slightly shielded against psychic or other clairvoyant acts, activated and teleported him back to Crey Industries labs. Ignemae felt her anger grow and calmed herself. She would find this Operative 307 Hunter some other day. Today, she was teleporting to her base, then she would be teleporting back to various areas of Paragon City and when she'd defeated enough Crey workers, maybe she'd find out what she wanted...or at least feel better.

She reached and activated her transponder, saying words she was thankful no one was near her to hear...

Default Ignemae wanted dead or alive after arresting Countess Crey

By decree from Countess Crey herself, the threat level of hero number 13435, aka Ignemae is now set for the highest priority and all members of Crey are to remove her from active duty through any means necessary. Her capture is preferred, whether she is alive or not.

Ignemae stood around the room as the many Crey workers lay unconscious around her. Those that were even slightly awake moaned in pain and their skin was blackened and in some cases still arcing with small bouts of electrical activity. Operative 307 Hunter was pinned against an armored vehicle and was bleeding profusely from his nose, mouth and even had one eye fully swollen shut.

"Sorry for the brutality, but you and your friends didn't leave me any real choice." Stated the hero with no real remorse. She did feel somewhat bad that even his heart would have some permanent, though slight damage as she had to electrocute the hidden transponder located within it, but then again, Crey did have a way with fixing things.

"No offense taken, you bi..." the man began to say as Ignemae slammed an electrified fist into his face, the obvious cause of what had swollen his eye, broken his nose, and knocked several teeth out.

"I don't take kindly to words like that, and you should know that. I've read my own file from Crey Industries and I'm actually impressed that they know I don't like being called that." Interrupted Ignemae, wiping some of the blood from her hand on the beaten Crey-hired hero's suit. "You're going to tell me where Countess Crey is, and you're not going to lie to me. I have had enough of this brutality and don't want to do something I may regret later."

"You'll just give them a reason to put your...butt back into the Arch-Villain status if you kill me, witch!" Spat 307 Hunter.

"I didn't say I would kill you. I have something so much better in store for you and others like you that sell yourselves to Crey..." With that, Ignemae began to expand her reality-shifting field so that her captive could see what she meant. He stared in horror as a world that was ravaged by disease was presented before him through the portal. It showed him the suffering of sickened and dying people all over the United States and other countries that should have been able to stop almost any disease from spreading. People screamed in almost every area he saw, many of them showing signs of skin slothing off, as though a form of disease was altered by extreme radiation.

"This is a reality where not too many heroes existed, and most are dead now. Before you ask why I will send you here if you don't tell me where Countess Crey is, I'll just tell you. In this reality they already ended any hero threats by capturing the hero called Poison, and used his body to make a disease and they lost control of it because his powers were too much for them to handle, but your dear Countess Crey made them do it anyway. You know my file, I can only pull or send things to realities that are very similar to our own. This could happen here, Operative 307 Hunter. You and you 'kind' could help her do it."

Looking horrified, the man stared into it and then started to laugh slightly. "You can't send me into another reality, not without merging with your other selves, because Crey was able to keep you from fully shifting most physical things from one reality to another, you are bluffing!"

As the man talked, Ignemae lifted up a device that made the smile fade from his face. He'd seen them before, but not looking so advanced. It was a power amplification unit, and while dangerous to use, they would let people do things they normally couldn't. Smiling, Ignemae looked at him, waving the device and said, "You can thank Pixie Lady for making this for me."

The portal shifted to a decrepit looking country, where people were in worse condition than in the more advanced ones, and Ignemae looked into the portal and turned to the man and said, "Last chance. Tell me where Countess Crey is or you're going to this world's...oh, somewhere in Africa. The animals aren't infected, so I'm sure you'll suffer more than if I dropped you at the Mayo clinic, though they're not doing too well either."

Ignemae left the man, still in this reality and sobbing as she headed to where Countess Crey was. "A cave, of all places." She thought to herself, how inappropriate for someone with almost unlimited resources. As she neared the entrance, she encountered more resistance, but they were not prepared for her. It seemed they were readied for heroes that were of a much lower security ranking and not nearly as angry as the Seer was.

She was pretty impressed with what Crey could do to a cave, as she used her gifts as a Seer to move around the traps and even avoid patrols. She didn't want to give the Countess time to escape. That happened too many times in the past when she and others had tried to pin Crey's less than legal activities on her. She knew the traps that were here could kill her easily, so she was sure her little chat with 307 Hunter was honest at least.

Ignemae stepped almost entirely out of reality and became invisible as she hovered to avoid sound and found herself facing the back of Countess Crey herself. She smiled and let herself appear and drift to the floor as she readied herself to walk up and take in the woman that seemed all consumed with a phone call to her lawyers. "Lawyers," Ignemae thought to herself, "figures she'd be trying to avoid the evidence that Ignemae had finally found that linked Countess Crey to the direct orders to Paragon Protectors that led to a battle between several heroes that were trying to stop a fire in Steel Canyon and resulted in the death of a nine-year old boy." She stepped within striking range and pulled her fist back as Countess Crey suddenly turned and a wave of mental energies lifted Ignemae and sent her reeling and spinning, landing over twenty feet behind where she'd been and nearly sending her over a small cliff.

"I'll call you back, and settle this case before I terminate you and hire new lawyers." The Countess stated as her flip phone slammed shut with a flick of her hand. "Ignemae, I really have had it with you. You have been a minor nuisance but you and your friends really seem to want to die. I do run a Grant a Wish fund, so let us help you there."

As she finished her statement, a blast of psychic energy blasted towards Ignemae, and dissipated as it hit a rock when the Seer flew to the side and began covering herself with her electrical armor, hovering above the ground for maneuverability and slightly fading from sight. "That won't help you much." Countess Crey chuckled as she concentrated and fired a wave of psionic energy towards where she last saw the shimmering image of Ignemae.

The wave felt like her mind was being told everything was hurting, even if it didn't. She screamed and tried to fire off a few powerful blasts at Countess Crey, most of which missed but the others seemed slightly absorbed by what had to be some very advanced body armor, as the sneering woman looked like she was heading to a fashion show. Ignemae was feeling herself become more and more mentally worn down and knew now why so many had failed to bring this madwoman to justice and thought up a tactic that she hoped the countess wasn't ready for.

Countess Crey was laughing at Ignemae's attempts to get out of range by flying away from her opponent and continued the barrage of mental attacks, dodging many blasts but wincing at those that did hit, but feeling quite happy about her tailor-made armor. She was preparing to attack Ignemae's lower brain functions and kill the hero herself when she saw the Seer flying towards her at top speed.

As Ignemae slammed into the Countess, she pummeled her with a flurry of rapid attacks. The magickal Sands of Mu she had obtained as a gift for her continuous work as a hero slamming into her fists into her foe but doing only a slight amount of damage. She wasted no time to let Countess Crey regain her concentration and immediately channeled an EMP into the confined space and watched as Crey herself screamed and held her head, unable to concentrate and feeling as though she wasn't able to think any complex thoughts. Ignemae quickly drew heat from the prime reality she had been mainly bound to since her powers first surfaced and the rocky floor itself melted and held the Countess in place, then she brought more flames through herself and ignited a large fire around the Countess.

As Countess Crey regained her ability to think, she found that the flames were designed to attack her armor and heat it up. The electrical dampening abilities that she'd had made in case Ignemae did find her were being heated to the point that she was starting to burn. As she pulled off the armor to save herself from her armor melting to her skin, Ignemae let loose a powerful blast of electricity, and since her own aim was still off with her mind hurting so much, she sent it everywhere once again.

The Countess fell backwards, feeling drained of her energy more than anything, and rushed Ignemae with what she could, trying to concentrate enough to destroy the Seer's mind. Ignemae enveloped her opponent in a tesla field and added to it a blast that caused convulsive shocks to Countess Crey. As she was held helpless, Ignemae wasted no time and rushed to within ten feet of Countess Crey, and focused every bit of power she could and aimed at her head. The blast was the last thing Countess Crey saw for some time.

The Countess awoke in a cell; a psionic dampener built within the walls, and was infuriated. She demanded her phone call and though charged with manslaughter for her orders to attack heroes attempting to put out fires on a building, was still treated with the fear and respect that she was used to, even by the Paragon Police. She knew she would not be there long, and did in fact call her lawyers yet again.

She was released later that day.

Due to the effects of such a powerful electrical blast at close range that was intentionally focused for maximum effect, Countess Crey has had two Grand Mal seizures and recurring headaches since her dealings with Ignemae. She has sworn to rid herself of this hero and has issued over six orders of attacks against her Super Group affiliation; the Legends Requiem. As she recovers, many operatives hope to bring Ignemae or her allies in to gain favor with Countess Crey. Ignemae was awarded for bringing in Crey herself, but only by ceremony as the charges were later dropped. The charge of the death of her husband was dropped due to lack of evidence that has disappeared, and the charges against her for manslaughter involving her orders to attack heroes that led to the death of a nine-year old were settled outside of court and dropped from any criminal proceedings. Ignemae has since been seen seeking other ways to bring Crey Industries down, but orders are to keep her from doing anything for some time.

Yes, I hear voices. Yes, they talk about you. Sadly, they talk about Sex and the City all the time! Now THAT is why it's called maddening!
