Starcraft II now a Trilogy
The StarCraft II panel(blizzcon) reveals Blizzard will release three different products, one for each racial campaign.
http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/starcraft-2/918896p1.html
The expansions will be chronological and will go in the following order; Wings of Liberty (Terran), Heart of the Swarm (Zerg), and Legacy of the Void (Protoss).
Well if this lives up to the hype having 3 massive single player campaigns will be sweet. If this falls flat then Blizzard is bending us over the barrel to pay for 3 games.

It's important to note that we don't have the pricing structure yet. The first game could be $50 with two $20 expansions or something.
I know it sucks, but it's really like paying for a movie and 2 sequels. Would you rather LotR be condensed into one movie so you only had to pay for it once?

I was, and still am looking forward to this, but if I have to drop $100+ for this then, it is off my radar.
I bought both Starcraft and broodwars. Played them till my eyes bled.
But I think Blizzard may be trying to abuse its fan base on this to turn / replace there profit margins.
But if it is like CNC3 and Kane’s Wrath ($50 + $20) Core game with 10-15 additional missions and new units. I might consider it.
I suspect there will be a super box set with all 3 for like $99.+

It looks like they won't be releasing these all at once, but one at a time, most likely (imo) a few months at a time. It could be as little as one month, but I think the most likely distrubution is around 2-3 months; this would draw out the interest in the games. Maybe make it a "year" of Star Craft. This falls inline with their other product's releases, such as the add-ons to Diablo 2, Warcraft 3, etc.
And heck, this probably gives them even MORE time to fit MORE content into each release/add-on!
As usual, if you are patient, I can see an eventual "Star Craft chest" coming out containing all three products, but I don't see the price being anywhere NEAR $100; probably discounted by then.

I think there is a post somewhere about this on it's own, but no matter: I am posting this here.
Do you remember that guy... the one that made that Starcraft MMORPG out of fishhooks, bailing wire, and his computer? He posted videos on YouTube then Blizzard made him took it down?
Then there was no hurt feelings and people were talking Blizz may hire him (but it doesn't look like they did)?
Well, here's more news on the subject:

Eurogamer has published a four-minute video of the mod in action, and viewers will get a good look at the alpha-state UI, combat, and a glimpse of character creation before the clip is done. As to the legalities involved, we reported earlier this year on Winzen's amicable accord with Blizzard, and though the gaming giant invoked its right to block the distribution of videos promoting the mod, it allowed development on the project to continue.

And here's an Alpha Video of the project!
