View Full Version : Malicious, Wonderful Costumes!

I finally got the right costume bits to make a Queen of Hearts costume! :D
http://coh.tritonius.com/BloodyHeartsFront.jpghttp://coh.tritonius.com/BloodyHeartsRear.jpg
Given Bloodywedd's pride and her status in the Group, it seemed like the most appropriate choice. Now you try!
Well, truth be told, I don't see any point in making such costumes mandatory like the martial artist outfits for leaders in Urban Bushido; Malice in Wonderland is more about chaos than order, after all. But such costumes would serve nicely for bringing us back ever so slightly towards the original theme of the Group, eh?
Make your voice heard. Post your costume here, and feel free to add a more sinister, anarchic or otherwise unique tone to the subject of your homage if you like. And if you decide to go ahead, here's a not necessarily complete list of all the relevant characters in Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Fire at will. ;)
Alice in Wonderland
(orig. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland)
The Cheshire Cat -- Kryogentic
The White Rabbit
The Dormouse -- Pirate Apparitia?
The Caterpillar -- First Victim
The Queen of Hearts -- Bloodywedd
The King of Hearts -- Deathcard
The Knave of Hearts
Card Guards, Hearts suit (any number)
Card Guards, Spades suit (any number)
Card Guards, Diamonds suit (any number) -- Strawman
Card Guards, Clubs suit (any number)
The Duchess
The Duchess' Cook
The Frog Footman
The Mock Turtle
The Gryphon
Through the Looking Glass
(orig. Through the Looking Glass, and What Alice Found There)
Humpty Dumpty
The Jabberwock --Abismalard
Tweedledum
Tweedledee
The Walrus
The Carpenter
The Lion
The Unicorn
The Red Queen (chess piece)
The Red King (chess piece) --Doll Master
The White Queen (chess piece)
The White King (chess piece)
Any other chess piece (red or white; Not sure why the colors aren't the usual black and white, but oh well.)
Both!
Alice Liddell -- Nightfire Alice
Dinah the Cat
The Mad Hatter -- Slaphappy
The March Hare -- Kami Kunoichi

The Widowed

True. Slappy does have an established reputation as a raving madman, and with their teamwork I could actually see Burb and Beeb as a decent Walrus and Carpenter couple, duping oysters and shucking them, except that we already have the Wicked Walrus, but he's MIA at the moment, so...hey! For the tail, there's the Rodent Tail under Belts. For the ears, there are either the Rat Ears or the Teddy Bear Ears, depending on the ear size you're looking for. Everything else is details, but you should probably consider a predominant mouselike color, such as brown, gray or white. :)

It's pure goodness. I like how they included pretty much all of the locations and so many characters from the two Alice books in the game. They even included little things like the flamingo croquet mallet as a weapon in the game (even though the mallet in the game's made of wood carved up like a flamingo and not a real flamingo). :)
The intro where they tell the story in a series of photographs is a nice touch too. Someone out there even made a speed run video of the entire game:

If you can't make it no worries :)
Anyone know the minimum amount of people needed to start it?
3-4 I think.

LOL if Motrin 800's aren't doing the trick I don't think a back rub will :P

That's easy, here's a guide I put together for stalkers:
1)Hide.
2)Run in to mob.
3)Assassin Strike 1 Enemy.
4)Die.
5)Rez & Repeat.

You don't play a very good Stalker. :P
1) Hide.
2) Run up to the toughest guy in the mob.
3) Build Up.
4) Assassin Strike the toughest guy.
5) If toughest guy is still standing, Placate him.
6) Hit toughest guy with your heaviest Stalker attack for a more massive Critical.
7) Get hit a bunch of times, eat a few Respites and/or Lucks, backpaddle to a less surrounded position if necessary and ultimately kick everyone's ass. >:]
You're welcome, Beebs. :D

You just play a low level Stalker. :P
In the higher levels, it goes more like this:
1) Hide.
2) Run up to the toughest guy in the mob.
3) Build Up.
4) Assassin Strike the toughest guy, who will conveniently have high resistance to all but 2 of the Stalker's primary powers.
5) Miss your Assassin Strike, making you look like a complete tool. Not that it'd matter much though, if you had actually managed to hit him, you would've taken maybe 15% of his health. In fact, you should probably be thankful that it missed, especially if the rest of the team was actually paying attention and saw how crappy your damage was. After all, you can never have too many Corruptors. You probably just scored yourself another 1/3rd of a bar.
6) If toughest guy is still standing (lol, he will be), Placate him.
7) Pray to god you don't have any DoTs on you, that there aren't any enemies nearby that will break your Hidden status, and that the enemy wasn't mid-swing when you activated Placate.
8) Hit toughest guy with your heaviest Stalker attack for a more massive Critical. Watch as the boss and surrounding minions laugh at your attempt.
9) Get hit a bunch of times, eat a few Respites and/or Lucks, but still die regardless.
10) Rez, activate tier 9, unless you're /Dark, in which case you're still screwed. Slowly whittle the enemies down for 3 minutes, die when Tier 9 wears off.
11) /quit team, cry, and sulk alone in your room while eating some Ben & Jerry's.

Sounds like a pretty ****ty team if they were just standing around watching you go through steps 1-10. :P

Well, the first part of that is occupied by silent /tells between team members. This was under the assumption, of course, that you could get kicked off your team at any number of steps. I should have mentioned that.

I'm getting much better with my Dom and I've been a solid MM since beta. Corruptoers = Defenders (pretty much anyway) so that's fine too.
Stalkers though, god....I am teh suck at them.

Surely they wouldn't boot you from the team if you were playing a good Stalker, would they? That sounds like paranoia. :p

Have you tried a Brute yet? You could make him Obvious' evil twin brother and call him Major Disaster or something. :D

Actually I've tried a few brutes but just really haven't gotten into them. Oddly enough my favorite brute is the one I helped my brother create, best costume design I had done for a big guy in a while.

I don't know what it is, but some melee Archetypes (Scrappers and Stalkers) appeal to me, and others (Tankers and Brutes) don't, despite them having similar function on a team: Run up to the enemy, frenzy, retreat if necessary. Hell, that approach has even worked for VRG (to a lesser degree); As long as Siphon Life keeps coming back up in time, she can keep going and going and going.
On a related note, Krypto can kiss my hairy butt for saying "Dark Armor Stalkers suck". :P
And Burbs? Turn on your green forum bulb, damn it. :p

Stalkers do look like the weaker AT, specialy at higher levels. Without being hidden their damage just isn't very good and they can't take a hit too well either.
The Widowed
08-17-2007, 07:33 PM
I don't think their damage is that bad. But if I start running into a bunch of stuff with Perception, I'll just have to grab Stealth. Problem solved.
I guess Stealth must be the new Stamina for Stalkers, huh? :p
