I went and got digital pictures of all the art pieces today, but it'll be a bit of a trick uploading them, since my Lappy has decided to reject the camera usb nowadays... fortunately, Nyx's seems to like it okay, though i have to unplug her keyboard to do it.... hmph. Anyhow, i'll be gettin those up. :)

Thank ye kindly, Veik :) It's my senior art show, wherein i prove that i wasn't just sleeping in my art classes all through college. Mostly sculpture, little bit of text going with it. Ceramic (clay) figures, about 11" tall, on top of large pedestals that look like some sort of rock spires. Kinda nifty lookin'. I need to pry nyx off her comp long enough to download my camera.... :(

Nice stuff! My Aunt works in porcelin and I have always had deep respect for sculptors. Artists have so much against them in this world, but we also have the love of our art that is something non-artists can never truely understand and the posers can only lament with a faux sadness.

Was sort of struggling with mediocre painting and drawing until then - my professor nearly blew a gasket when i brought out some test sculptures. Trust me, I have known many a wanna-be-artist who couldn't paint a straight line or sing a high c or write a decent paragraph or act a true emotion... Your work speaks for itself, it has life and is real. THat makes you an artist, cherish it. It makes you special.

Mm, nobody's really sure where the "grade" for the senior shows go, but mostly it funnels into our "Portfolio" class. The professors say they figure it's the most appropriate.

This is my first (completed) digital coloring art... it sucks, but i'm still proud. :D Woo! Always jealous of my friends who do awesome digital coloring, so i figured i'd give it a try.

This is my first (completed) digital coloring art... it sucks, but i'm still proud. :D Woo! Always jealous of my friends who do awesome digital coloring, so i figured i'd give it a try. It definately does not suck at all SC, nice work, very very nice work.

What is the story on this guy?

Aslan: Oh, why thank you ;) (I'm thinking now that my computer screen is slightly too red-tinted, or purple tinted, making everything more yellow for everyone else.... plus it's got yellow patches from the dodge/burn distortion.. but hey, i'm learning. i think my next one is a leetle bit better.)

Ignore the following if you don't wanna read. This is what happens when i'm amusing myself on long car trips. -->
Story on the Guy (you have unleashed the terrible force! flee!): His name is Ral, and he's a decendent (about.. say.. two or three generations) of some space colonists who got sucked into a pocket dimension held together and run by a group of subterranean physics-controlling beings called the T'si (sounds like "sigh"). These beings offer the colonists a ticket out of the pocket dimension or a chance to live on the surface and take care of it for them. The ones who stay get nifty powers and ability. Eventually some of them have a falling out (highlighting the fallability of human nature, blah blah) and the "bad" guys get cursified. They've still got powers, because the T'si can't take back a gift, but it's all twisted by their evil, yada yada.
They sort of war back and forth on the lush forested surface world for a bit, each trying to out-survive the other. When Ral a kid, he and the other boys were taken out on a male bonding woodsy-survival kind of thing with the men. It was interrupted by the news that a bad-guy raiding party was headed for their village in the trees, and they scrambled back... but by then, everyone who'd been left behind had been... *makes squick noise across throat*
So, the little culture is suddenly devoid of all women or children younger than 9 or 10. Not pretty >_< Enter the scenario where a handful of women of all walks of life from a modern, "our world" type universe get sucked into the pocket dimension and get to deal with a bunch of guys who've never seen a woman in their entire adult life. Sci-fi + sexy jungle guys + superpowers + epic battles.... yeah, it's just entertainment.

Anyhow, i took a "copy" of Ral out of that universe and shoved him into a multi-dimensional crossroad world to hang out with two other "beefcake" guys created by two of my friends. (Ask nyx about "Tristan"! hehehhhh....) Mostly for the sake of art, since the three of us are artists. Bwahahahh.

Frosty: Yes, exactly, it's much brighter on my laptop than on my desktop. The desktop comes out much yellower, so maybe the laptop is just more violet somehow? Anyhow, i'll brighten it up just to make sure, a sprite you can't see is moot point.

I think the list is about 20 at the moment, but i'm working through them pretty quickly at the moment. I wouldn't mind seeing how the attempt to create a headdress would work out, actually. I don't have any artwork that resembles her in a headdress, much easier to find black-haired artwork that suits her, like in my avatar or signature. The kohl around the eyes and the black lipstick are fairly characteristic of her, and she's a dark melee/regen scrapper, to give you an idea of the flavour of the character.

As for the white costume...actually, she does tend to wear red a fair bit because of her name. But the original Urban Legend colours were white and grey, and I discovered I really liked the white look on her, giving her a little bit of a mummy style with the wrapped gloves and boots, and all the straps.

The "Red" in her name is from her origin, tied in with when the river Nile ran red. :)
