Has Anyone Else tried this out yet? I must say, I was VERY pleasantly Suprised when I tried this game out. To me it just looked like another GTA Clone (Albiet with much better Graphics Big Deal.) And Well it sorta is.
So you might ask me: "Hey, if it's a clone, why do you like it so damn much?"
To Put it Simply, Skills.
As you kill people/Blow Stuff Up/Explore You find little EXP orbs for your different skill sets, as you collect more the better your skills. I know we've heard it all before.
However, what increased skills actually gets you is the fun part.
Full Strength lets you pick up things that weigh about oh... 10 tons, and hurl them about a football field away.
Full Agility has you running about 45 miles an hour, and you can jump 30 Feet in the Air.
You get the picture. Plus it has Online Co-Op, which is actually pretty fun.

It's on the list of games to buy after I get a new 360, it looked fun and I like some GTA clones.. well.. I liked Saints Row anyway.

I have it, it is AMAZING. Cell shaded liquid awesome. What really helps me describe it is: Imagine GTA had good graphics but the world was what "State of Emergency" should have been. I'm a sucker from leaping from rooftop to rooftop getting Agility orbs. I mean, once you can leap 30 feet in the air and crush a hooker on impact, then turn around and shoot the tires out on a minivan and watch it careen into a gang hotrod, what else is there?
This game has me hooked.
Best coop moment yet:
"Yo check this out"
*friend turns around to see me with a flaming body held over my head, which I throw at him*
"Sorry. Hey look at this!"
*Now I'm holding a dumpster*

I plan to pre-order this weekend, I've been interested forever, love the demo, and the fact of Halo 3 Beta just sweetens the hell out of the deal. All I have to say is, if you want to do co-op, I am big on just blowing shit up, and goofing off with the explosives of late, though there is plenty more that I do then that, just I've been havng to much fun with that alone.

I have bad news for you all(good for me as I have yet to pre-order) Now, while I have not read the full review, Officail Xbox Magazine has reviewed Crackdown with meager, if not miserable, 7.0.
+ Leaping around the city's rofftops is a hoot
+ Drop-in-anytime co-op is a great way to play
- Repitition; lack of side missions
? Will it be a million-seller just because of the Halo 3 beta?
I don't even know if the fun demo and Halo 3 beta can bring me to buy it, especially after they reviewed Guitar Hero II(world exclusive on the final build early) giving it a 9.5 and selling me more then before.
So any other opinions?

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has em and they all stink, Dont let some magazine review prevent you from getting a game.

Well Tark, I kinda agree, but their reviews have never really let me down. Their high ranked games have always been great, and their low ranked ones, which I have at least rented have usually shown why they were easily. Last time I ignored a review, I got PDZ for my 360 andits the bane of my collection. Also, I usually agree with their scores, and as much as I like a good demo(and Crackdown's was pretty damn good) a good review to match helps, and I only needed one more excuse to up extra cash for Guitar Hero II
Plus, $60 is a lot to up for something you know only a demo, and a mediocre review about, especially when I'm saving up fpr car insurance when I get my license
Edit: Any guess at the price for the 360 version of Guitar Hero II with guitar?
$89.99

God, I am so freking torn. I mean, OXM reviews it, and says you can beat all the kingpins in 12 hours(or at least they did) and max out skills and only do it with like 2 abilities, and do the samething repetetively(sp?) and then once maxed all races and such are useless.
But now I go and find this (http://reviews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1289/Crackdown/p1/) which I haven't read through, but let me just say it contradictory. Any other opinions are defiantely open as I trust them fairly well too(not as much though)

play the game and who cares what other people think, i like the game because one of my favorite things in any game, is leaping from rooftop to rooftop, etc. I dont buy games often (own 1 game for my xbox360 and have had it since october) mainly cause i cant afford 60$ a pop and to beat it in a week, If you like the demo, buy the game and have fun, remember it has online play...

Guitar Hero II is 90$ on the 360, pretty sure. If my 360 was working.. I'd be buying Crackdown and GHII.

You must have missed that I dragged the end of that post so long and hid the price for you to look :P
Anyways, I posted this on the official Crackdown forums in a thread about redaing reviews:
A bit late here so I only skimmed what you said, but I agree about taking reviews with a grain of salt if you understand the saying(come to think of it, I really don't, but its still used :D ) Anyways, I've had high hopes for this like the rest of you and when the first rview I saw was from OXM who I trust highly(7.0) I was a bit downtotted, but I was holding off pre-order anyways, and then Team Xbox's review was up today(9.0 and I've yet to read that) I was a bit confused, and hopeful, and now I see Game Spots(7.8 and still not read) I have higher hopes as a 7.5 on OXM would've been enough for me(I was further thrown when Guitar Hero II got a 9.5 as anything else would've sold me on that) But to get back on track, as I severly trust these reviewers in the order I named them, and as I'm not always one to trust or listen to reviews in almost any case I still intend to buy it, just it may be post launch(and post-rental ;) )
Just thought I'd put in my 2 cents as such varied reviews could throw anyone who even just looks for a loop.
Anyways, there are at least 2 reviews(Team Xbox and 1up) that have given it a 9.0 and I have seen at least 2-3 8.0's and I believe that, plus Halo 3 Beta(yes, I have fallen victim to that) is enough to sell me on the game(give or take how much the demo alread had)
Edit: As a show of how much I trust in this game, I have made a custom gamer card for my sig(anyone who wants to use it, or learn how to make your own just ask and I'll post a link)
