Ok folks, time to try this again.

I've levelled my alt, The Metal Mole, up to level 14, and in the process opened up the Cavern of Transcendance Trial.

Previously we attempted this trial with my alt the Paragon Falcon, and it went very very very....very...very....poorly.

This time should be a little different, why you ask?

This alt is custom made specifically for this trial, and should work well on at least 1 other trial later down the line.

He has stealth, super speed, and recall friend. He also is an invuln scrapper so he can take a few shots before falling miserably into liquid hot magma.

Here is the strategy to use, if you'd like to give this a shot, please sign up below and note when is a good time for you. I'm off all week and would prefer to try this out sooner rather than later:

Trial specifics
1. Exemplars are ok, it is 90 minutes timed so even if a drop occurs it's not too bad to restart.

2. Metal Mole will start the trial, at that time everyone enter the tunnels and remain near the entrance, no pulling a Leeroy!

3. Metal Mole will proceed undetected to the Cavern entrance and recall everyone there.

4. The team will enter the Cavern and if need be clear the area near the entrance.

5. The Metal Mole will then proceed undetected to the different stones, recalling 1 person to each stone. If any particular stone is swarmed that will be the one the Mole will take for himself.

6. All 8 members activate their stones.

7. The Mole will proceed up the ramp to the couple of Igneous guarding Sam Wincott, undetected, and recall everyone there.

8. Hopefully we don't all die and we free the kid, getting the badge, saving the day.

For the person who has the mission, you may want to exemp during the mission so that you don't accidentally exceed the level limit during a failed mission and be able to complete it. And depending on the date, I'd like to join you if you have the room at that time.

Ok, Let me post the game's Trial specifications:

Must be between 12-15(exemplared or sk'd), must have 8 people as there are 8 stones to hit.

So at most we can exemplar 4 people, (4 in the 12-15 range, 4 exemp'd)

The Metal Mole is a few bubbles into 14, so he should be able to do the run without levelling, if possible maybe a couple of times.

If the Major is still level 15, which I think he is, I'd like to bring him. He has the stealth from SS, but that's it.

It looks like we have at least 4 in range, so that'll work for exemplaring.

Still don't have this badge for AM or Lamprey, even though I tried with both of them in the past. And if not I'm sure there will be plenty of other opportunities for me to save that kid. He can't stay saved for longer then 2 minutes it seems.

Correct, the Metal Mole is nye invisible using stealth/super speed, and has recall friend, thus the gameplan for hitting the stones is I'll go around to each stone and recall.

Hopefully I'll not get confused....

Also, with WA and Silver bowing out, if AM can make it, that'll be 8.

Truth told, it's good to have one other character with recall friend, just in case a mishap befalls your stealth/recall main. That way, you can recall and revive him with little effort. It's not required, but not a bad idea.

That went exceptionally better than last time. Ideally an Ill controller with recall friend would be best for this task force(bot not another I have planned for the Mole).

Possibly an ill/ff controller with personal force field to be safe. If superior invis allows recall, which I think it does.

In any case, yes, went good, probably do it again this weekend since Karsis is still telling me I need 8 heroes to do the deal.

so now recruiting for the trial again, and if there's an Ill controller out there with superior illusion and that neat power Nano Napoleon used to clear the two guys guarding the kid you are most welcome to tag along, I'll even exemp or sk you myself in need be!

Superior Invisibility doesn't hamper power use in any way, but it drains end a lot during battles.

Stealth and super speed drain endurance like crazy too, for battle you should just flash group invis when you get it. For travelling without dying, superior invis. Which is odd because you don't look as invisible as an /DEV blaster using cloaking device, kinda negates the superior-ness.

That leaves 2 slots open, at least 1 needs to be in range.

So yeah, funny story about how uber he mole is for task forces. I was trying Positron with my claws/sr alt, in a group of 8 with no tank.

We did the first mission, barely, the second mission, couldn't get onto even the 2nd floor, and it was over 2 hours into the TF(a couple of folks already bailed at this point). So we dissolve the TF, head back to reform.

This alt had like over 2K debt(at level 15 not fun), so on a whim I figure, what the heck, I'll see how this goes with the mole. Log him in, ask if a TF is forming, get invited. There was a tank this time, and a few defenders(none with a rez), I think 2 blasters, another scrapper, and me.

So we start, the mole stealths the first mission to Epidural, recalls everyone there, we clear that room, the Mole doesn't die. This took like 20 minutes, travel time is also minimized since the Mole has super speed and recalls everyone.

Next mission, again the mole stealths it, free the first hostage, and then the second is real close to Rollister, clear that room, done, again, less than 20 minutes, now starting the 3rd mission.

I had to log before it was done, but there were only 2 groups left to clear one being the boss when I logged, I'd say took like a half hour to get that for, so another 10 minutes they were done. Total time to get the first 3 missions out of the way, less than 2 hours, and those are the toughest 3.

So yeah, Metal Mole = uber task force enforcer. Probably once he gets to level 16 he'll do Positron all the way, cause it's just easier with that build.

Don't get me started. :D Seriously, I think both Stealth and Cloaking Device should, instead of making you transparent, make your character appear "shadowy", by turning down the light sourcing on the model, so he's almost black. Just dark enough that it's obvious, without obscuring the costume.

I believe that now that you can attack with Superior Invisibility, it's probably better than Group Invis again (for the caster) but I ended up taking Group Invis anyway because it makes sense for my character to be invisible for "a limited time". (It's Joe, and he turns invisible by changing disguise. After he's been in the disguise for a while, it is no longer as effective)
