Is a Peacebringer on virtue, I'm planning on the Beetle/Tank form being his primary use form with some secondary uses of the other two--anyone have suggestions for slotting?

He's not to 20 and Beetle yet...but what should I plan on...? Anything I should watch out for?

(I'm not so hot with blasters, but admittedly the Kheldian Blaster-cnidarian form is FUN..I'm hard pressed to not use IT all the time.)

Nothing to recommend, except stick with it until the post-20 game. CoH/V has an "averaging" system that slowly goes away until level 20 so you don't get a true feel for the differences between forms until then.

I'd recommend everyone level alts to 20 before tossing them, but I've noticed the Kheldian ATs suffer most from the averaging system and can seem pretty "blah" before they reach their full potential. As I've progressed through the teens with my PB I've enjoyed it more and more and have been able to appreciate the differences between nova and human forms.

Plus, the game can really be hard in the 10-20 phase (maybe not so much 10-15 any more, although I remember long ago it was AWFUL) but improves dramatically once you start getting SOs.

My usual stopping points used to be 6, 14, and 20. Now I've upped the 6 to 10, because that's when debt starts, and maybe the 14 to 16, so I can get past the 15 mark, but that's about it.

Although I've stopped playing some characters, I've never really deleted them. But then, I've got characters spread out over all servers, so I don't have a problem with needing to clear out slots.

I cant agree there .. if anything I think these levels go by really fast ... its your 30s that are just brutal. As much as I love Black Razor shes semi retired cause I just dont have the patience required to solo the 30s and I cant never find a group.

But yeah you cant really tell much about an alt when they are new .. gotta get a few powers under your belt and even then like Razoras said .. you wont see anything till your in your 20s.

I made my toon a human mainly with Dwarf to back it up. I have the build available on request, but it's a screencap of my build at 50.

Well, as I said, it does seem to have changed. I remember back in the old days the period from 10-12 was awful, I had no Contacts, street sweeping constantly, dying half the time because JD didn't have enough offense. It wasn't until 14 that it started getting better.

With my villains, though, it seems much easier in the early levels. It's the period from about 18 to 22 that seems most difficult. Your AT modifiers have bottomed out, and you don't quite have SO's yet, so everything is amazingly difficult. Plus, you've got freaking Elite Bosses around every corner in CoV.

Now, I will give you that you progress much more SLOWLY around level 30. But I'm not talking about that. I can run the same missions over and over and over again and it's no more difficult than it was at 20. If anything, I have more options, I'm a lot better balanced, and I have more Inspirations, so it's easier to take on the tougher opponents. Yeah, it takes forever, but if I keep coming back to it and keep picking away at it, and eventually I will get there.

If by 30 you haven't gotten the hang of the AT, and decided whether or not its style is for you, you never will. You might as well try something else. OTOH, if you're bored with the grinding, switching ATs isn't going to change that. You'll be grinding just as much even if it's easy for you. Which I guess means you should pick whichever AT is easiest for you to play past 30. No sense being frustrated by grinding AND by your AT. :D

BTW, I don't have a single character past 33. It's not exactly that I lose interest and give up, I still play them, it's just there are other characters that haven't reached 30 yet that I still want to work on. I've got 5 characters in the 30's, 4 in the 25-29 range, and 3 that I still need to get from 20 to 25. But it's possible that I've avoided the annoyance of the grind just by switching characters all the time, so it's not as big an issue to me as it might be to you. OTOH, with the last couple of characters, I've really started to feel how long the march from 28-30 is. I guess I'm starting to notice it a lot since I'm running out of alternatives that are still levelling fast.

As much as the level 30s are maligned, there's some neat story arcs in that range. Especially the 35-40 arc, where you get to drop the hammer on several of the major villain groups and deal some major blows.

Then you hit the 40s, and you're saving the whole planet or the entire multiverse.
