Alright, since the Wii uses Friend Codes I decided to make the thread for everybody. The code is not like the DS,so all you need is one code for everybody.

There's not going to be an online game till next year, but we'll be ready when they come out. If you add me to your list, let me know.

I turned the options for the "Blue Light" to go to bright on Wii Connect 24, when you sent me that "Testing" message last night the thing was glowing like crazy when I came upstairs after eating dinner. I wish I did that as a game was being played and not as a "You got mail!" feature.

As it seems, you don't need the consoles nickname. You can give the contact a unique name (Mommy, Friend down the street) etc. to distinguish the different contacts.

I don't know how it will handle this friend code for online games, as no online games are avaible yet.
But I think that it will only show the console, not who is playing it at the moment.
Most likely like an IP. You know that the computer is online and responding, but you don't know who is sitting on the other end.

Yeah, sometimes it just takes time to synchronise the friend lists. I wanted to wake up Poison with a flashing Disk Drive, but he's also grey in the list currently.

And on another note, I got Metroid Prime 3 recently and it uses those friend voucher thingies. Like, you earn a coupon which you can send to friends who get friend badges for them. Those are used to unlock extras. I've got 14 of those coupons atm, but no badges at all. Anyone got the game and want to share?

I am in the same boat as Switch, it is more for my kids than me.
But ill get the code incase any one would like a challenge at the New DBZ or Neruto games. My youngest chews though them and unlocks them in like nothing flat.
We are waiting on the new smash brothers to be released.

I didn't care for it. but then again, I never cared for platformers all that much.

I got my almost wife DDR for the Wii. She really likes it. She has that on Super Mario 3. She couldn't be happier. =P

You can get a Nintendo game cube controller and use it for some of the games.
Works well for my Kids. And I finely have the friend code. But I am at work. Ill post it tonight.

Long time no read. Good that Poison dug out this long forgotten thread for me as there is a small change on my side.

My Wii crashed some month ago (would power up but wouldn't show up on the TV or react to the power buttons or wiimotes). Mail to Nintendo shocked me as they wantedt 70€ (nearly $100) for a repair and warranty was only 1 year. Well, after several month of collecting dust, I finally decided to send the console in. After 1 week, I got a nice big package with my Wii, and to my surprise, they changed a corrupted system board for free. Only downside is, that I lost all Wii savegames, Mii's and Friendcodes. Luckily, Nintendo was able to link my online profile to the new system so I could re-download all the VC Games I had already purchased before, free of charge, again.

Ok, now to the serious buisness:
Due o the new motherboard (or so) I got a new friendcode for my Wii. If you have me in your adressbook, feel free to change my Wii-Code to:

I'm going to have to send mine in as well. I have a launch Wii and I got the overheated graphics card issue. I hear it's from leaving Wii Connect 24 on and not using it. (Which I wasn't after I was done with Zelda, so it kinda sat there while I was playing PS2)

Some games will give me stuck pixels, like on Mega Man 9 it looks like crap. The thing is, it doesn't show up on a few games, so it didn't bother me. Now I know I'm going to have to spend money to get them to transfer everything onto a new Wii because my warranty is up. Huzzah!

Just do it. I was afraid of the repeair costs, as well. But I wrote an additional letter telling nintendo how bad it would be to having to pay for all the VC games etc again, and that they would lose me as a costumer.

When I got my Wii back, and checked the bill, I was pleasently surprised to see no actual amount. So it was a fix for accomodation. Maybe yours is as well.

And even if not, better a repaired Wii as one that is collecting dust.

P.S. Noone playing Wii anymore? Noone changed my friend code (except Poison)?
