Yeah, I thought so too. I wonder how serious the whole thing is. I've known people that play these games like that (the rest of the team). Me, I'd get as bored as Leeroy too, waiting for them to make up their plans and such. :shinner:

Thanks to this video, I can see "Leeroy" becoming synonymous with "teammate who causes teamwipes". :D

I mean, maybe he won't ever achieve AYBABTU's degree of infamy, but I can still see Leeroy becoming a household name. :cool:

What's amusing is, that Urban Dictionary entry is dated May 11. So assuming people really ARE using that as a term (which I don't doubt, even though the entry clearly makes reference to "liking chicken", meaning it was probably posted by someone involved in the original incident) it has come into common usage within a couple of weeks, possibly days from its inception. And become an entry in an Internet dictionary a few days after that.

The speed of the Internet is sometimes astonishing. :D

(In fact, we learned about this here only yesterday, which means in Internet terms we are DECADES behind the curve...)

What's funny about the entire thing is that they actually "planned" this down to a T, and then he comes back from AFK and wiles out. Hilarious. I keep repeating the whole, "LEEEEEEROY!" bit over and over.

Man, that guy is like 90% of the pickup teams I've been on. Haha.

I think the only reason they were planning so much was that they were on some kind of insanely difficult mission, like AV-level or TF-level.

Thefriend who was telling me about it found a screenshot where somebody else ran in to another (quest I guess) where 3 rare items drop, took them all instead of splitting them with his team like usual, and ran out typing (probably a bind) "LEROOOOOOOOOOOOOY!!!!!! JENKINNNNNNNNNNSSSSS!!!!!"

Yes, that place is a very hard high end dungeon instance that people are always going to with groups much bigger than normal. I still sympathize with Leeroy though.

The very first part of the animation, where he says "AFK", needs to be a little longer. And there is a bit of studdering when you leave the text up to be read and no one is moving. The pause at the end is perfect, though. "At least I have chicken".

Actually, if he was in their group and was aggroed and died, then the mobs would have come after them too. It's what sucks about being a pet class in WoW.
