Just a question. Well, three really. Is it any good? Is it worth getting? How does it compare to the first KOTOR (which is one of the two best RPGs I've ever played on a computer)?

1)Its good
2)Yes.
3) Its good, not quite as good as kotor, but the story is involving and very fun.

Great game. The plot is a bit more sinister than Darth Malak and the Sith Factory, and you can turn a number of your group into Jedi's themselves.
..The lightside ending sucked, though.

ohh crap, it did? that whole Darth treya thing was quite saddening, for a -ending-... damnit, 30 hours for lightside, no way in hell am i replaying that!:P
dont read that unless you want spoilers.

Well Tark, it's...hold on.
..The trip there is absolutely awesome, and the fight with Kreia/Treya is good, and she tells you what will happen to the planets/people you've encountered and more, but the ending: the cutscene that rolls before the credits...it's a lame ending. It's like 30 seconds long.
There.
PS: What is it about Star Wars and blacked out text?

(no spoilers about the game story or plot itself)
KotOR2 is in many ways a lot better than KotOR. Gameplay is almost identical, but a number of little things have made it better. Characters are almost as likeable as the first one, but in my opinion I had a greater fondness for the characters in the first KotOR better, although that doesn't make the KotOR2 party members bad in any way shape or form...
As for the story, the plot and the concept is amazing, and has the potential to be far greater than even episodes 1, 2 and 3 (although to some this isn't saying much :chuckle: ), but unfortunately, the endings were obviously rushed, and very incomplete. Rumor has it that Lucas Arts pushed a Christmas release date, and large chunks of the game were obviously incomplete and the endings were a bit clunky and unsatisfying.
I think overall, as is, it still is a great game, and worthy of purchase for any Star Wars fan or KotOR fan, and it is totally worth playing. And while we are at it, we can cross our fingers that one day Obsidian will get permission/cash from Lucas Arts to finish the "real" ending.

I fully agree with the above statements.

Yes, it's very good and worth the purchase. And after watching Episode III I was compelled to start playing again as Dark Side, and, well, you can be ALOT more evil than in the first game. (And Dark Side choices aren't QUITE as obvious either, so it's more fun working towards them in my opinion.)

Oh, but one warning: I dunno how it is on PC, but it's a bit buggy on the X-Box. Lots of malfunctions and exploits.

I've got it on PC. From what I can tell it is a bit smoother than the X-Box version. I don't recall ever crashing or getting into any other weird situations, unlike with KOTOR 1.
I'll agree with the above statements. It's a good game, not as good as the first but still worth the purchase. And yes, the ending is very rushed and if you know the system the game can get really easy towards the end.

Not as good as original KOTOR but still great.
The game was way rushed. While it is an amazing group of developers the deadline was too much. The end mission was way rushed and easily seen. Other than that great fun, fun playing sith

I have mixed feelings on the thing. In its own right, it's a great game. But when you see where it could have gone storywise, it really ticks you off that it was rushed to publication. The entire game could have made you question your own personal philosophy, that's how good some of the light/dark choices were. But the ending is just so haphazard. It's sort of like the Death Star blew up suddenly in the middle of Episode IV and they started rolling credits.

I concur with the above. Very abrupt, had great potential that it didn't fulfill. Some of the characters were pretty cardboard cutout.
Overall though, great game, well worth the purchase.
