The Glowniverse!

Ok, While talking to Stalking Shadow on AIM tonight, I got the idea to make a thread for comments and questions on my odd little universe of characters that pop up in my stories. I'll be making a timeline of the past stories for continuity sake, but if anyone has any criticism either good or bad, or any questions, and I'll regret phrasing it this way, no matter how odd you think it may be.

So any feedback is appreciated.

What follows is a loose timeline of when the stories take place.

Glowniverse Timeline:
Chester Jenkins and the Meaning of Life
-Jack Jenkins become Kirby Waye/Order

Best Seller
-Captain Bourbon gains the Destiny Ring and becomes Happenstance

I Bought it on EBay
-Cliffton Jacobs wins and EBay auction and gains the ability to mimic the powers of others, eventually "saving" the life of Captain Bourbon

Eviction Notice
-Kirby goes ballistic and gets kicked out of Empire City and almost out of Paragon City

Bright Light's Fade
-Alexander Cole travels back in time to kill himself and save his future

Poker Night
-The afforementioned heroes gather together to play a game of cards with a few others in attendance.

And right now, I'm working on something that is a bit of an oddity for me, a serious story. No humor, just straight forward story telling, in my overly dialogued style. Since this is my first foray into legitimate story telling I'd like to find someone willing to read over it when I'm done and tell me if it's missing something or generally give me a pointer or too, you know, so that I can get back to my inanity.

Like I posted in the The 5 Team forum. This was my attempt to make me care about the character again, and I finally do. When I created Afterglow I gave him a half assed origin paying more attention to his costume and powers/gadgets. The character had no depth, and I think that this story served to give him a little.

Updated the second post to reflect the loose chronological order in which the stories take place. Added Bright Light's Fade in too even though it is pretty much unrelated to the rest of the Glowniverse.

Working on next posts in EBay and CJatMoL.

Hmmm...you know something? Why isn't there a Best Origins Thread of the [unit of time measurement]? Or a Best Roleplaying Thread? Or Best Mod? That sort of thing. Maybe it would encourage people to read up on the non-Paragon City sections a bit more (ie. The Library, the Gallery, the Archetypes).... :cool:

I attribute the cries of "elitism" to plain and simple envy.

After all, look at Xanatos. Xanatos gets called a lot of names like that. Because everybody wants to be Xanatos. Some of the people moan "Xanatos appears in too many comic books", but you know they're really thinking "Why can't my Hero appear in a comic book too?" :D

I've given up on trying to get Widdy into a comic book or a contest victory. It seems that Cryptic prefers the brightly colored Heroes, not the dark, black-wearing anti-hero type Heroes. They want Superman or the Flash, but not Batman. :rolleyes:

And I'm trying to decide whether or not to make an Alterverse story called: The Reign of the Humormen! Starring Humor Boy, a teenager who believes himself to be a clone of Humor, even thought he has powers and the real Humor is black. Deadpan, an evil ex-co-worker of Humor's that believes that by taking up a mantle in homage to the fallen hero he can discredit his public image. Humorbot, um, a robot. And... er... Steel. :D

Wow, it's been a year since I posted anything in here. I guess I need to go ahead and wrap up all the stories that don't have endings. Especially if I ever plan on starting up any new ones.
