Any of y'all Quakers? And if so....what's your position on fighting robots?

I'm being serious here. Really.

Are quakers allowed to be on computers?

Considering Quake servers can become pretty barren, I'd say you kinda have to. And most players start off fighting AI in Skirmish mode before heading to multiplayer anyways. RtCW and ET never had bot issues though, so if you play Quake: ET when it comes out you shouldn't need'em if it's anywhere near as popular as the Wolfenstein games. Besides since it's classes instead of just raw deathmatch, ya kinda need human players to combo properly.

I actually thought you meant Quakers, not Quake-players. I was still trying to figure the post out until Morc replied.

No, I meant the non-violent types. The Friends, Children of the Light, etc.

And Quakerism doesn't have much to do with technology as far as I know. Didn't for the one Quaker dude I knew back in high school, at least.

What I meant was what is the stance on violence of any kind whatsoever, even against inanimate objects.

To make up a somewhat convoluted scenario, if there was malfunctioning Predator drone flying overhead, and you happened to be standing next to a Stinger missile, could you use that weapon to stop the drone from harming someone?

Unless it's an fullblown A.I. I don't have a problem with it. Other than it might be vandalism.

Theology! Although silly at first blush, but let's put in my two cents on this matter.

I only know a few things about Quakers, like the oats they sell. ;p But, I am pretty sure, they would be "horrified" by it or at least unsettled. Especially the robot-tearing-robot bit.

You have vandalism/destruction of property. If a Quaker owned that property, not good.

For the robots, maybe this is too similiar to things like "dog fights" but removed from the realm of hurt, yet one is revealing in sating their violent natures. It's sorta like watching the act and being giddy over it.

I guess a sorta similiar thing to ask would be : Are Quakers against Masturbation, especially swinging singles unmarried fantasies? A far point to make, but may be relevant.

Hmm, this question is actually deeper than it looks.
