Ultimate Spider-man Game (http://www.ultimatespidermangame.com/)

Ultimate Spider-man is being developed by Treyarch (Activision), and takes the best elements of Spider-man 2: The Game, and mixes it with Ultimate Spider-man the comic book, to create this thing of beauty and amazement.

All dialog, plot etc. is written by Brian Bendis, the Ult. Spidey Writer (since #1), and he is also the voice caster and voice director. Mark Bagley, the artist of Ult. Spidey (also since #1), has designed all characters.

I lust after this game in unnatural and perverted ways.

Interviews and Features at IGN.com (http://comics.ign.com/objects/734/734935.html#features)

A developer posted this on JinxWorld (Bendis' messageboard) concerning some fears some people had:

"We were switching between Spidey and Venom 2 years before Halo 2 came out (I'm just ribbing ya, Hil).

As for the "do or die" scenarios, what the article is talking about is a story level-specific challenege. We've removed the need to do any of the city events like stopping muggings or saving people in danger. Those events still exist, but only as a means of unlocking secret stuff. They are in no way *required* for gameplay.

And don't worry about the camera mentioned at the end of the article. It's getting some serious love right now."

PS. At one of the Superhero Hype threads (http://www.superherohype.com/forums/showthread.php?t=177045&page=1), there are screen captions from the trailer. Bear in mind, that the caption have been grossly enlarged from the small trailer.

PS. I'm having a joygasm over this whole thing. It looks so amazing and spectacular. *nudge nudge wink wink*

In-game video fotage (http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=1747) (Only thing I'm not liking here is the fire on the car. Which seems like a temperary thing. It also appears he hasn't reach NY yet, since it looks more like Queens. Personally I feel the panel look works.)

Yes, well, let's just hope that the PC version isn't once again gimped.

The official word is that the PC version is, unlike some of the other Spidey games, the same as the PS2, X-box etc. games.

New Article (]http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=5293) up at Comic Book Resources along with reviews of some of the other Marvel games.

Snips from it:

"Activision's "Ultimate Spider-Man" won E3's Player's Choice award for a reason."

"Other characters that have been confirmed include Electro, Rhino and Nick Fury and the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It has also been confirmed that other guest stars from the Ultimate Universe will appear, but they haven't been revealed yet."

"The free-roaming, webswinging action is still in the game. Mini-games where Spidey helps out the denizens of New York are still in the game.

However, everything else has been improved. The mini-games are more varied and far more detailed. The hand-to-hand combat, which occasionally was somewhat jerky in the last game, looks far smoother. Unlockables, which were missing from the last game, have been promised in some form."
