Intereting, looks like

Entangling Arrow
Ice Arrow
edit Glue Arrow
Flash arrow
Poison Gas Arrow
Acid Arrow
Disruption Arrow
Oil Slick Arrow
EMP Arrow

Snap Shot
Aimed Shot
Fistful of Arrows
Blazing Arrow
Aim
Explosive Arrow
Ranged Shot
Stunning Shot
Rain of Arrows

One thing that strikes me is how much of other powers are in this set, but, I guess no rez so it's not too powerful.

edited for a correction, and dang, that's a lot of slows!

A debuff power set, obviously. (Sort of how FF is a buff powerset.)

No heals, looks like. Probably a good solo class, but good luck finding teams once the novelty wears off.

(When are people going to learn that defenders are useful for things OTHER than healing...?)

Also make sure to stare at the "Inventory" and "Skills" Buttons above the power trays. :chuckle:

Probably never. I still get asked if I'm an Empath Defender. I tell them no, then tell them what I am made to do, then they still say, "No we need an Empath thanks though." ::shrug:: That's just the way the cookie crumbles.

I know. Once, when I was playing my FF Defener, I was added to a team. And the STILL wanted to look for an empath. (This was before we even started a mission...We didn't get a healer, but went ahead anyways, and of course did fine...except when people went running off out of the big bubble...)

Slight further derail, I'd rather have a buff/debuff defender and a controller with a heal secondary, than just a straight heal defender. If you need that much healing, you're doing something wrong, getting hit too much, not taking things out fast enough.

And on the topic of archery, it looks very close to the AR/Dev combo in how well it will work for the solo player, just flipped around so the buff/debuff is more powerful than the blast set.

Also, I am dismayed that Defenders are the ones that seem to be getting the powers, when they really aren't lax for options as much as a couple of the other archetypes.

It's not like current people can add on these powers, the issue is overall game diversity. If there is one archetype with more options than the others, there will be more of that archetype as there's a better chance of people making their character concept fit with more options to choose from.

Don't want it to be City of Defenders is all.

Lastly(for this post), those extra categories are interesting, I'm thinking inventory is needed for skills, maybe you can combine inspiration like items to yield a usable inspiration if you have the skill.

You can NEVER have too many defenders.

Remember, that while Defenders have the most options, they have the least amount of sets unique to them.

A set the Defenders share with Controllers, for instance, has to be compatable to both sets. Rad Defs, for instance have Fallout, which is a nova type power (post death). This does too much damage to be in a controller set.

Further, sets shared with Blasters, have to keep in mind the added damage that blasters have. Thats why the Defender only sets have their snipe attacks so early. Because the damage, even with snipe, isn't too much. While a blaster with snipe that early would be very nasty.

The trick shot set, can have all of their powers do damage. (which it wouldn't be able to do if shared with controllers)

Also, we don't know how many sets they are adding...

Don't want it to be City of Defenders is all.

No chance of THAT ever happening. Even the fabled Rad/Rad Defender gets most of its power from stacking with other Rads. And everyone will ALWAYS ask, "Are you a healer?"

Besides, no one has said that Archery is NOT a Blaster Primary. All we have seen is a screen that shows the Defender version. And it makes a lot more sense to take a picture that captures both power sets, since Archery is right there when you are displaying Trick Arrow. Why take one of Trick Arrow, and then Blaster's Archery?

Let's see now:

Snap Shot, Aimed Shot - Basic attacks, of course. I guess Aimed Shot takes a little longer to fire, but is more accurate, maybe more damaging.

Fistful of Arrows - Cone attack, if I'm identifying it with the right icon in the tray. I'm pretty sure number 3 in tray 2 is Blazing Arrow, though.

Blazing Arrow - The icon shows the "fire" or "explosion" symbol, but it is clearly marked as a single target attack around the rim. So I would say this is Archery's "Burst" attack, doing massive damage (possibly DoT) at short range.

Aim is obvious.

Explosive Arrow - Targetted AoE. This fits both the name and the icon.

Ranged Shot - Sniper attack. Can't make out the icon, but it makes sense.

Stunning Shot - This is just a guess, but I would say this is probably a counterpart to Freeze Ray and Tesla Cage. Low damage, but has a high chance of stunning or even holding the target. Call this the Boxing Glove arrow. (Although I would have expected that in Trick Arrow, and given it knockback...)

Rain of Arrows - Again, can't make out the icon but from the position, this is the ultimate. Either similar to Blizzard, as mentioned in the thread, or a cone attack like Full Auto. If it is Defender only, I might expect the AoE Ultimate, since Full Auto isn't available to Defenders. Then again, this might be a version they will have access to.

Entangling Arrow - The icon clearly indicates it as a single target immobilize, but it is likely to slow attacks, too, like Web Grenade. What jumps out at me is that the attack is more like the first from a Blaster Secondary, rather than a Defender power. Of course, as mentioned, healing with arrows would NOT make sense, but I would have said this was the perfect place for the Force Bolt/Gale like Boxing Glove Arrow.

Ice Arrow - Oddly, the player didn't take this or the next power, possibly because they are similar to Entangling Arrow. I can't make out the icon, but I would say it's probably a slow/recharge reduction, or maybe even a full hold. I can't really see if it's AoE, though, so I'm not sure about its usefulness.

Glue Arrow - While this sounds a lot like the Ice and Entangling Arrow, the icon, although it's not very clear, seems to show a targetted AoE. So it's either an AoE slow (Tar Patch) or less likely, hold. I don't like that these three powers are all so similar, though. Hopefully they'll adjust that.

Flash Arrow - Okay, now we can see the icon. And while Flash is an AoE hold to a controller, the icon clearly shows the Aim symbol with a slash through it. So, AoE Accuracy, and possibly Defense Debuff. (Although likely Acid and Disruption cover the Defense)

Poison Gas Arrow - The icon again shows the "explosion" symbol, so I'm guessing this is something like Choking Cloud, possibly with some damage.

Acid Arrow - This clearly shows the Defense Debuff symbol. However, there are two Defense Debuff icons in the tray, and one uses the symbol for a dropped "summon" effect. I can't make out which is which in the Power list, so I'm having to guess here. But I would say that the Acid Arrow "drops" a puddle of acid at the targetted location (possibly a targetted MOB) which then effects anyone else who runs through it.

Disruption Arrow - Lots of speculation about this one on the board, but the icon shows a Defense Debuff, and unless this is the "dropped" one, it's targetted AoE. Actually, a dropped "bubble", like Dispersion Bubble, might be interesting. However, the icon clearly shows Defense DEBUFF, so it is obviously a target debuff, not an ally buff.

Oil Slick Arrow - Something akin to Ice Slick, I would guess, a dropped effect that causes AoE knockdown. Why there is an AoE knockback and not a single target one is beyond me.

EMP Arrow - Can't make out the icon, but my guess is that this is similar to EMP Pulse. This is also one reason I would also guess that Poison Gas Arrow is similar to Choking Cloud, they're both from Rad. (And Flash Arrow and Disruption/Acid Arrow also seem to be similar to Radiation Infection)
