I was looking forward to SK's Guruwide "Civil War" RP event too. :(
Perhaps we can step up to the plate and supply the community with an RP event, but before we pitch the idea to the public, well, we should probably congeal the idea into something semi-solid first. Besides, I've been wanting to get us, the raving miscreants of Malice in Wonderland, back in touch with our roots. And the approach of my favorite holiday--Halloween--is the perfect opportunity to do that. It's also fitting that we should be the Villain Group to organize an event like this; Stoic and shady Villain Groups with a world domination agenda are a dime a dozen, but when Cryo and I whipped up the concept of Malice in Wonderland about a year and a half ago, we wanted something different. We wanted a malicious band of lunatics and rogues with an evil literary bent, one that was part Gothic horror novel and part Lewis Carroll strung out on PCP. We've taken a few turns here and there, but we're still a Villain Group that's less like Nazis and more like a band of escapees from a sanitarium for the criminally insane. I like to think that we've accomplished that much. :)

So you know how the comic books sometimes have a big villaincentric miniseries like "Hush" or "House of M" or "The Long Halloween" or somesuch? Well, why can't we? We come up with a series of events and the overall skeleton of the event--which should last from October 1st to October 31st, so we don't have much time to lay the groundwork. Bear in mind that whatever Malice in Wonderland is planning for this monthlong "Long Halloween" event (or whatever we decide to name it), it's going to have to be something big by definition....

...oh, the clock? That's the backbone of the event, the living timeline of events as they unfold. It's also part of the execution: We're Malice in Wonderland. Everything we do, no matter how horrible the rest of the world deems it, is nothing more than a game to us. Leave the blunt, unimaginative crimes to lesser minds; There is nothing ordinary about what we do. And if the good guys can't outfox us and beat us at our own game, then they deserve what they get. >:]
This clock's just a sample, of course. The actual clock I whip up will have a few subtle clues to it: Which Malice members are going to be behind the events to come, number puzzles which will reference the clock, what-have-you. I would like to get as many active Malice members as we can; Some of them may be called upon to play their parts in the master plan and perpetrate individual crimes, spy missions, perhaps even red herrings to throw our adversaries off the scent. I'll be coordinating with leaders of other Villain Groups to see if they want any role in this event, be it ally or rival.

I'll be clearing out my Inbox shortly. That way, if anyone here has ideas for any riddles, puzzles, logic problems or /loc-friendly map games to leave at the crime scenes and thereby taunt or bedevil the Heroes, you can just PM the ideas to me. If it's good and clever enough to be used, you might even be the one put in charge of that event.
That also begs the question: How do we execute these events Heroside, in Paragon City? Well, remember Ladron's Lackeys? It's the same idea: Any of us who has a Virtue slot to spare can throw together a quasi-generic Wonderland Goon or Droogie; Our rationale is that the big names here are too recognizable to be permitted easy entry to Paragon City, so we send these nobodies to spy for us, plant bombs, et cetera. We can use this thread to come up with a common uniform for the Goons (nothing too strict, but more of a general guideline; Again, we're rogues and anarchs, not fascists).

The clock will be updated every week or so (at the very latest) in a thread in one of the more commonly perused Guru forums. Hand will rotate, pieces will fall off, pieces might even be salvaged or replaced wherever the Heroes (or other Villains who oppose us whether due to a drowning spark of benevolence or a less altruistic motive) manage to suppress our efforts. And once the clock strikes Thirteen O'Clock on Halloween, well, whether or not Malice in Wonderland's master plan is realized depends on how well the Heroes and rival Villains solve our riddles, unravel our secrets and undermine our efforts.
And we certainly won't make it easy on their poor, perplexed little brains, will we? >:]
General ideas go here. The stuff that we don't want outsiders to see (including our "answer sheets" to the Riddler-like modus operandi and the endgame of our master plan) go to Private Messages.
Oh, yes...and Happy Halloween. http://coh.tritonius.com/Pumpkin.gif
