CoHGuru has its own serverwide global chat channel in City of Heroes, giving the Guru community the possibility to communicate and interact easily while playing.
The channel is called CoHGuru.com.
How do I join the channel?
Ingame, simply type
/chanjoin CoHGuru.com
in your chat. Make sure it's activated by adding the channel to your chat tabs. You can view all online members in your Friends tab by selecting the channel. Chat in the channel by selecting the corresponding channel.
Can I invite friends to the channel?
Yes, everybody is welcome to the channel (and forum, of course) as long as they keep with the channel etiquette. If they are not interested in posting at the forum, make sure to post their global handles in the according thread (http://www.cohguru.com/forum/showthread.php?p=18192), telling us who they are (friends, SG mates, etc).
What is the etiquette?
Keep it nice. No discussions (religion, politics, ethics, etc) and of course no harassment, flaming, spamming.
You are not required to talk. A simple "hello" when you log on helps other players know you are there though and a "hi" back never hurt anyone.
This can be generalised: when you join a chat, you do not want to feel like the only one talking or even excluded. Neither do others.
Make sure to have your global handle in the Global Handle Thread (http://www.cohguru.com/forum/showthread.php?p=18192). Either post it yourself or get it posted by someone else. We want to know who you are!

Is it IC (in character) or OOC (out of character)?
The channel is kept OOC, you can talk normally. If you wish to stay in character though, you are welcome to do so.
Why do some players have a star next to their name?
Those players are channel operators, the channel's mods. If you need help with the channel, feel harassed or have other problems concerning the channel, feel free to talk to them.
