Obviously most of those people are Pro Registration. Dosent really show who wins what side of the war through the various PReview Pages.(Which show the team in action against Molemen, which Ms Marvel coments that she would like them too keep the damage too a minimum, which prompts Sentry too knock the F**k out of a Giant Moleman into a Building. Perfect Quote
Ms Marvel : WHAT DID I JUST GET DONE SAYING!?
Sentry : Sorry

Now Ares's role in the team is iffy since we dont see him in Civil War. Sentry's role will be revealed this month in New Avengers.
But I have too ask...Wheres Thor, SHehulk, Yellowjacket, and SPider-man? Other Pro Registration heros of the War. Perhaps they switch sides?(Hank Pym doing somthing decent? PFFFFFFFFwifebeaterFFFFFFFT)
((Not to mention Spidey is supposed to switch sides))

I'm pretty sure that the New Avengers title will have Captain America leading up a rogue team of Avengers. I predict Spider-man and Thor will switch sides and join him.

Lot of big guns on that team. Sentry is supposed to a Gladator or Hyperion class being right? So is Wonder Man (Who appears to be having an 80s flashback and forgot how to fly again). Ares is a big panthon god, again Thor class, Iron Man is Top tier, Ms Marvel is top tier. I mean this team may not be subtle, but damn 2 or 3 class 100s and 2 class 75s who can boost there powers, resist damage with best of them, and shoot big level beams? Bet they hit a lot stuff and ask questions later. Can't imagine wanting to call that team out. Crap, think your getting Hawkeye, Cap, Quicksilver, Scarlett Witch, and maybe Thor on a good day. Instead Iron Man shows up with Ms Marvel, Black Widow (cap without the nice guy thing), 3 guys who can go toe to toe with Thor (including one who knocked him out once), and the Wasp. Ouch.

Yeah I was thinking that same thing Jack. This mighty avengers team is waaay too powerful. I even imagine that Sentry alone is too powerful to be on anyone's team since his power limit is suspected to be limitless. He should probably be more like the silver surfer and just go around doing his own thing.

EDIT - also, is it just me, or does Iron Man not really seem to fit in with the others that well.

Dr Jack Wolfe

and apparently, with enough power, Ms. Marvel can still access the Binary power set. Plus the Wasp can grow now. This is going to a big JLA thing where everyone has to be powered down for intresting stories.

edit- Iron Man, is the brain. Natasha and Ms. Marvel bring that whole morally ambigous spy/get the job down background. Tough team to face down.

I just wish the Sentry wasn't on this team. I love him too much and I now dislike Iron man too much.

I really like this line-up. Very interesting to see Ares on the team. I liked his mini alot the character has definately earned him my respect (Any guy that willingly lights himself on fire and then throws himself into a wave of enemy soldiers is OK by me).

But, yeah, last I checked, Wonder Man can fly under his own power. Being all ionic energy and all that jazz. Only thing I would like to see is Hank being on the team, but a very, very solid group as is.

Here is my big question. What is Ares motivation for being a part of a good guy group? I mean seriouly. He is a god of war. He thrives for war and would likely instigate a fight just for the thrill of battle. Aside from that, I imagine that Ares would really have no equal on the field in expertise in combat of any kind.

I checked Marvels database on him and they really don't say much about the level of his abilities, which, in my opinion, is pretty lame.

Well, in his mini he gave up the title of God of War and was just trying to raise his son on Earth. He doesn't go around picking fights anymore, but i'm not sure why he'd join the Avengers either... I'm curious as to why he would myself. Still, cool to see him.

That would do it. Although, i'd imagine he'd hunt down Nuke and wear his entrails around his neck if that were the case.

Am I the only one who thinks this looks more like a supervillain group? And not a friendly little supervillain group like the original Avengers, but a "bad day and we take out Asia" kind of supervillain group.

Yeah, it looks a lot more like a fascist strikegroup than anything else. They have a God, a Psycho, an Assassin, an untrustworthy, lying, manipulative Playboy, an unsympathetic TV host, a former embezzler and a shallow gloryseeker.

As a civilian in the 616, without any knowledge about their actual character, I would not trust these people with my garbage.

Personally, I'm not happy with this roster getting the "Mighty Avengers" title. I mean, don't get me wrong... that team is probably as mighty as it gets, but this team doesn't have that classic feel.

On the other hand, New Avengers was entirely Iron Man's idea. When they formed, he was all about convincing Cap that keeping that random group of heroes together was more than coincidence --it was fate like the first time the Avengers came together as a team. Cap was quick to remind Iron Man that it was him who disbanded the Avengers in the first place.

Even though Cap isn't in the same class as the various heavy hitters, its just not Mighty Avengers without him. Iron Man can go suck a rusty bolt.

===============================

Of course, this does offer some insight into the larger picture that we were left hanging on after Civil War #3 with Thor's return showing him as pro-registration and clearly not concerned with his past friendship with Captain America.

Everyone shown on the Mighty Avengers line-up seems like a pretty good candidate for being on the pro-registration side (and thus agreeable with Iron Man). This seems to indicate that Sentry's upcoming involvement (finally) is likely to be on the pro-registration side. Sure, I could be wrong. He might start out against it and change his mind mid-way through. I doubt it.

Thor, on the other hand, is not with the pro-registration team. Clearly, they could have given Ares a rebel attitude and put him on Cap's side as their muscle, but they haven't. Add the fact that Iron Man's team has Sentry, Wonder Man, Ms Marvel, and Shellhead himself, and its obvious that Thor would be pretty redundant there. No... New Avengers will need Thor as their big gun for when the two teams inevitably clash over something other than the registration issue (which will be past by then, but memories of it will be fuel to whatever initially sparks such a battle).

So, what's the deal with Thor switching to the anti-registration side? Why was he with Iron Man to begin with? I'm gonna guess that he was either double-talked or outright lied to. Something along the lines of that Cap is either an imposter or he's being mind-controlled by some villain bent on ruining his good name. Thor's righteous, godly indignation takes over and he's all over taking down the renegade heroes... until someone sets him straight. Maybe Spider-man? Spidey's already got his doubts and they increased further when he recently became paranoid about the armor that Stark gave him... he might overhear disinformation being fed to Thor and clue him into the truth when he can talk to him alone.

I'm just guessing... we'll see.

Nitro you mean. Nitro is already a Prisoner of Atlantis, Probably getting his skin removed. Of course this is after Wolverine beat the crap out of him and Sliced off his arm

yeah. All in all, in the end, I am having doughts that Wolverine and Spider-man will be in any of the two Avengers series's. Spider-man is more likly then Wolverine since he will need some extra backup and probably end up becoming a private citizen too keep people from hounding where he is.

I can't imagine Wolverine staying an Avenger after this is all over. I mean, its clear he's not a part of Iron Man's team... and Captain America was really against having him on the team to begin with.

More likely, Wolverine got fed up with all the B.S. that went (will go) down during Civil War and walks away from being a professional super hero.

Wasp is a bitch.

Black Widow is a super solider?
News to me..

Hmmm well Natasha notable powers, according to Wikepedia, are

Healing factor, slowed aging, enhanced immune system, extensive military and espionage training.

Her Marvel Universe entery says.
http://www.marvel.com/universe/Black_Widow_%28Natasha_Romanova%29

SUPERHUMAN POWERS: The Black Widow has received a variant of the Super-Soldier Serum which enabled her to remain in peak physical condition for the past several decades, as well as slowing her aging process to some degree

in addtion

"Natasha Romanoff remains one of the world’s most accomplished hand-to-hand combatants, and is quite possibly the most skilled espionage agent alive"

So, shes got 40 years of awake experence in the military and espionoge, heals like Logan. Yeah she stacks up against Cap pretty well I'd say.

Ok, I don't know exactly how I missed this thread, but here's my two cents:

1. Wonder Man looks like a moron. Never liked the guy.
2. I'm still embarrased that Iron Man was my favorite hero as a kid.
3. Ares looks like a bad ass.
4. Ms. Marvel has one smokin hot bad ass. :naughty:

Isn't that the jacket Wonder Man wore in the 80s?

What is it with trying to bring characters back to their old school popularity? Are we going to see Cage walking around in that yellow silk shirt again anytime soon??
