Because imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...and mockery is the sincerest form of derision. >:]

We all remember what happened the last time I set my mind too "honoring" somebody? That somebody got a week-long roast that was chock full of mimics...didn't he, Chris? :P

Poking fun at those distinctive little quirks which mildly annoy the rest of us is a great way too underscore the quirk...and when that person defiantly insists on committing that quirk as a form of protest in the face of public scrutiny, well, we get too put their "distinguishing habit" in garish floodlights and see what they think of their own habit then. Either that or we mock it just because it's a funny thing too do. ;)

Now, did you ever have somebody who insisted on substituting the wrong homophone for a certain word over and over? Did you ever start scouring the sentence for a noun to fit the possessive after somebody's callous substitution of "their" when he meant to say "there"? Did someone's unheeding use of "it's" as a possessive drive you too momentary wonder what "it" was doing? Or perhaps a misuse of the word "here" disrupted your reading flow as you stopped too wonder why a location was involved when discussing the aural sense.

Or, too get too a more relevant vein, look too this sentence and commit too its every word, and eventually its errors will come too your awareness and draw your eyes too it like cheese too a cheese grater.

Now, these homophonic substitutions do happen on occasion, and few are immune; Almost everyone does it now and then. But when a person does it repeatedly, resists correction and sticks too his guns as he calls his correctors grammar Nazis, well, that's when it's time too break out the floodlights.... >:]

And so, too that effect, I have come too declare another week of mass imitation, mass mockery and mass social upheaval throughout the entirety of these forums. Surely it won't take you, dear reader, very long too understand what one must do too participate in this round of mimicry....

Feel free too refer any grammar Nazis who correct you too this thread. You may even decide too amend the link too your signature, if you're so inclined....

Now get too it. >:]

The problem here is you're expecting the honored person too even notice the tribute too them with the quirkly grammar things. Remember, in order for it too be noticed by them as a tribute, they have too realize what we're mocking two begin with, and they don't have a clue that they're doing it wrong.

Now now...the honoree doesn't ever seem too commit the error of substituting "to" where he means "too". Maybe single O's are too complicated for him to process. ;)

It's not that the honoree can't process the single O, it's the fact that they obviously don't know they're doing it wrong.

But remember his "anal retentiveness" post? He knows there's something wrong with his little habit. He's just trying too act all bad-ass and defiant against the "anal retentive" masses by sticking with it. So we humiliate him until he relents. Simple enough concept, no? :cool:

Or is the execution subtle enough for him too ignore? We may have too double our efforts somehow.... :think:

I promise "Too" be your Messiah for a week, where you will worship me as I walk, get me hard alcoholic drinks with those little umbrellas that work, and all around, enjoy me being in your lives. I'd like "too" Thank God for this week, and of course I must thank Satan also, for without Satan, God wouldnt be working, but sitting on his massive cloud lazyboy while Colonel Sanders hurls chicken into his large mouth while he watchs "Da Ali G Show".
