As much as I'm hopeful for the series, I'm also afraid someone is going to botch it up royally. Please let the new creator team be good.

Not something I'd opine on the BVK.tv, but I don't expect it to be anywhere near the same quality after Vaughn leaves. That entire series was character driven, and I have a hard time believing that it will be anywhere near the same without someone who gets those characters.

I'm really trying to keep my composure etc. But I'm really with you there. I can't think of anyone who can do the characters justice. And if I see Bagley's name pop up as artist... Grr.

I'd rather have it finish and end at #24 really.

It's Joss Whedon and Michael Ryan. I'm cautiously optimistic. Even if I haven't fallen quite as much in love with Joss' comics. (Despite having a fanatical devotion to Firefly and a great love of Buffy and Angel.) Ryan has worked on New X-men, Mystique and Excalibur among others. He seems to have a good enough control over characters' facial expressions to follow Alphona.
