Okay, I am so graphically-challenged when it comes to this kind of thing.
I resized my avatar in Irfranview so it would conform to the forum specs, and in so doing it made the background this icky green. It used to be transparent. All I did was do "Resize/Resample" and I got the green somehow.
Make it go away, someone, please? <bats eyelashes>

If you have the original, I think all you really have to do is save it as a GIF, i don't think Jpegs can be transparent-like. :D
and if that doesn't work, i'll reinstall photoshop today...

<opens image in Irfanview, saves as gif...cries>
Tark, I don't want to inconvenience you. I can fix it if someone just talks me through it. I have Photoshop (a huge waste since I don't have the slightest clue how to do anything cool on it), Irfanview, and whatever image junk came with my computer. So I have some options.
This avatar works great in the Dawn Patrol forums. There, you can resize right in the window where you upload your chosen avatar image so I just resized it there. For this one I had to resize in Irfanview and then save the newly resized image. I got green, even though I didn't ask for green. Strange.
I'll keep monkeying around with it but I definitely appreciate any help since I will likely break something in my efforts. :)

I use PMView (shareware..no restriction past the time limit except a nag screen..at least it's the way it used to be, It's been good enough that I haven't upgraded it in a while now to the latest version).

lots of people like IRFanView, but i don't know if it does scaling/custom resizes like PMView does.

How do I see the size of mine? I'm sure they're too big, but none of the moderators have slapped, er, asked me to resize them.

Isn't there a way to resize the images here (even in sigs)? After I put the pics in my sig, I resize them, but when it saves, they show up as they are below. I don't want my sig to be this high.
