I am thoroughly disgusted with myself. I just bought one of these:
<< eBay page >> (http://cgi.ebay.com/THORS-HAMMER-CIVIL-WAR-RETURN-EXACT-REPLICA-OF-MJOLNIR_W0QQitemZ140014396898QQihZ004QQcategoryZ17 080QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
Previously, (and awhile back) I bought one of those Green Lantern replica power ring & battery set; you know, where the power battery lights up when you touch the ring to it. (I swear, I didn't recite the oath. HONEST! Okay, maybe I started to...)
Anyone else have, apparently, money to burn to own such extravagant collectibles? If so, what'd ya get? Pictures would be cool, too.

AGH! I SOOO want that...I was gonna get the limited edition GL rings they produced some time back but by the time I found out when the local store was taking preorders, it was too late. Bastiches.

I've always wanted an accurate replica of Conan's atlantean sword from the movie Conan the Barbarian. I also wanted a replica of John Crichton's Peacekeeper Pulse Pistol.
i just can't justify spending the money especially when i'm $10,000 in debt at the moment.

Only real expensive collectibles I ever got are directly from Franklin Mint and yeah that place can be expensive.
I have the Excalibur sword which even being a replica is an authentic sword crafted in Toledo, Spain. That was $700
I have a Dragon Fountain which I forgot already how much I paid for it. :)
Other collectibles I own are much lower in price including my figurine and action figure collection.

I met a guy that wanted a Thor's hammer so much, he made one.
Out of solid steel, even! (He's a machinist by trade.)
The thing weighed close to 40 lbs, but he could throw it a good 30 feet and smash small targets (which he demonstrated on some throwing knife target boards at a renaissance faire). And, for the faire, he dressed up as Thor in a pretty decent melding of both comic book costume & mythological representation.
That guy was hardcore.

That reminds me, I HAD a website that showed you how to make your own Thor hammer, and I said I would send it to Thundermace, no idea where I put it. I made my own set of hammers once from foam and PVC. I have a flail someplace in my house made that way.
But I went out and bought like 15 of the .45 Light Sabers. Got them in display cases and everything.

Holy cow, that second one is funny! No, awesome! No... funny! Awesome AND funny!
As for the first, I dunno... I get a red x instead of an image. None of the others even comes close to the guy I was talking about, though.
