To celebrate our new kitchen and upgrades to the house we're throwing a huge new years party, probably already at least 75 people comin.... so more the merrier... hubby thinks at least 150 people are showing up. There will be a keg or 2, a couple bands, lots of BBQ meat. So if anyone wants to hook up with other gurus and/or want to come to Cali for New Years, feel free to come to my house! We're about hour an half from san francisco airport and san jose airport and sacramento airport

Might be doable... depends if hubby has a job long enough before then for us to save up. We have some other travel plans for the next 12 months that we're already saving for too, so... maybe, maybe not.

But a quasi-Guru New Year's party in Cali with kegs, meat, and a new kitchen, sounds like fun. I'll have to practice my puppy-dog eyes so that He Who Controls Household Finance will grant me my wish.

Wow, you sound very close to me. I'm in the Central Valley, about an hour from Sacramento, hour and a half to San Francisco airport. If I didn't already have out of state plans this New Years this would work out well.

it's kinda funny. me and my friends have this ritual we started many years ago to always get together for New Years. for the last 5 years my buddy (Navy Officer) was stationed in Monterey Californa. (an excellent place to celebrate anything, especially if you have lotion). This year he is going to be stationed at Virginia :( .

California is soooo different from Texas. Like two different countries...
