Despite what Widdy says, the official forums are not complete shit.

Fair enough. The official forums are primarily shit. O_o

I'm including you on "our" side, Grae. I see you posting there a lot. :D

It was a metaphor. I had to think of something quickly that also disgusted me.
Email support. They should be able to do something, unless you set your account to Deactivate.

Oh. Yeah, I post alot. WOrk gets boring sometimes and often times I come to Guru and there are only like 2 new posts to read so I go there. Some things are actually pretty interesting, others are pure idiocy.

And their team of fifty-odd Mystery Mods is always standing by, ready to delete your post for no evident reason.
As an addendum to what Grae said, sometimes I feel like punishing myself over something bad I did the night before. So it's always convenient to be able to fill this need by going to the Big Official Forums at anytime and finding no fewer than seven new topics bitching about something or another. :p
But I mostly hate the forums for the mods. Goddamned fascists with zero accountability. :grr:

Had this issue with my niece's account (now deceased, for all intents and purposes). Support said that because her account was game card based, since they cannot limit forum access based on time, game card users generally get the shaft (in so many words). I offered to use my credit card to back her account (then she'd just keep feeding game cards in so the card would never be charged) while at the same time explaining to her that forum access is kinda like wanting to see exactly how 'Babe' winds up as pork chops and pork roast or how "My Friend Flicka" winds up as Alpo but she declined, sadly.
As far as NC is concerned, it's as if you opened your account, signed up for 3 months and then cancelled your account. Technically, your account IS set to deactivate immediately upon that game card's expiration. But yeah, I think on the one hand it is kinda dumb for them to use this method. Especially considering how much bloody diarrheal excrement actually gets tossed about on a typical (read: non-patch) day over there. I mean, could it get any worse if folks with cancelled (but still active) accounts were allowed to post? I don't think so.

Coolest guy on the Official Forums is named McBoo. His real name is McGrane, and he was part of X-Wars, an e-mail roleplaying group I wrote with from the time I was 13 until I was 20 (off and on; high school was busy times). His character, Stout, is as strong and as indestructible as the Hulk, but he's a midget. Er, little person.
And he has an obsession with GTOs. Weird little dude.
McGrane is cool as fuck, though.

Time for me to address this thread.
Yes. I read the official forums.
Despite how much it's filled with whining little bitches who can't see the forest because of the trees, you can still find good information on there.
Mostly, I wanted my account to be able to log in so that I can at least get 20 threads per page instead of ten! Whiskey tango foxtrot?
Either way, I did e-mail support, and I can log in properly.
Score one for the Valcinator.

For future referrence, it sometimes takes 24 - 48 hours for the system to recognize a previously deactivated account for an active one. It happens with the test server too.

It had been a good 4-5 days.

Meep!
Sorry. Yell at 'em. I thought I read earlier that it's fixed now, if not or if something else is going on, I'll find the phone number to support. Sometimes, talking to a live person gets more accomplished than a back and forth email-tag-you're-it game.
