Hey folks. I've been having more and more problems with CoV. Between the long load times to get into a zone or a mission and constant loss of mapserver it's been great.

Now my game has learned a new trick. I was on with my Thugs/Dark Mastermind and I was playing like I always do. I went to go use Twilight Grasp to heal my party and all of a sudden, the game froze up and crashed on me.

I logged on again, got back into the team and after my third or forth Twilight Grasp that landed the game froze and crashed to the desktop.

I sent a pettition explaining my problem and suprisinglly enough I got answers back. They told me to do a scan with a progam they had me download and the guy told me that my "AGP is disabled and this might cause preformace problems"

He told me if I wanted to turn it on I had to get into the set up when I turn my computer on and set it to on, and if it didn't I'd have to contact my system or motherboard manufacture..

So I go and OF course, the wonderfull folks at dell don't have that so I couldn't simply turn it on, the only thing it had under AGP was a number that I could turn up or down, so I turned it up and it worked fine for a day but now it's doing it to me again.

Since the CoV beta I have been running both games in LOW so I thaught that'd help me but since it's this "AGP" I have no idea what to do. This is why I stick to playing console games, I don't need to worry if my Neo-Geo MVS's graphic drivers are up to date or if the AGP is turned on when I'm playing my Sega Master System.

Could sombody please tell me what the hell AGP means and if anybody knows how I "Turn it on?" I REALLY love my Mastermind, I'm just about to hit 24 and I was really looking foward to getting my Bruiser. But if I keep continuing to chrash when I try to use a basic power I don't think I'm going to use him anymore.

Well for starters if you could post your system specs, and all the information on your motherboard I can help. Until then your best bet is to just stick to the other toons for now.

Some things I'll need to know are as follows:
Speed of processor (ex. 1.0 ghz)
Speed of ram(ex. 512mb)
Type of video card(ex ATI radeon 9250)
Type of Motherboard (ex. asus nf7-5)

all this info will help determine the optimal settings for your game. The type of mother board is needed to determine your bios settings once I have this info it'll be easy to find out the problem.

Oh and just for future refrence...Stay away from dell :p

Well, my dad got the computer, it just happens to be able to run the game. I know if I was to get my own computer it wouldn't be a Dell. I also have RAMDIS ram so it's INSANE if I wanna upgrade it.

Motherboard:
CPU Type Intel Pentium 4, 2400 MHz (18 x 133)
Motherboard Name Dell Dimension 8250
Motherboard Chipset Intel Tehama i850(E)
System Memory 512 MB (PC1066 RDRAM)
BIOS Type Phoenix (10/22/02)
Communication Port Communications Port (COM1)
Communication Port ECP Printer Port (LPT1)

Display:
Video Adapter NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 (128 MB)
Video Adapter NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 (128 MB)
3D Accelerator nVIDIA GeForce FX 5200

(That's from a report thing I did, as I said there is NOTHING to say to turn it on or off, let me know if you need more.)

Uhh, AGP is a chipset for videocards. PCI is what you stick wireless, usb cards, etc in. AGP is the slot you stick your card in. If AGP was "off" I don't think your computer would show anything.

I think either that this support tech doesn't know what he's talking about, has an acronym wrong, or I'm thinking of something wrong.

Ok so after some quick research on your system I have found that most of your problems will come from either out of date drivers or in correct settings. so inorder to rectify these things you should try the following options:

- Update your Nvidea drivers and allow them to be set as default(this is done durring instalation)
- Agp option in your bios should be set to either auto or 4
- Make sure the External power source on your video card is connected (if it exists)
- your ingame settings should be set to recommended, then go into the advanced options and drag the particle effects slider to the utmost left (it should read 100 I think)
- make sure no other programs are running in the background (the best way to do this is to provide me with either a list or screenshot of your task manager. This can be activated by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL in windows XP.)
- Purchase a copy of webroot's Spysweeper application and run that. Also Download the free anti-virus program AVGFree and scan your computer.

The problem could be one of many things, but it sounds like you are experiencing software lag mostly and this is usually caused by too many applications running in the background. I ran determine which programs should not be running if you can post the list/screenchot mentioned above.

If all goes well your performance should increase as well as your internet connection speeds. Oh that reminds me what type of Internet connection do you have? Is it Dial-up, cable or DSL?

Not to defend the tech support of NCsoft but I hink they have no idea generally about how to fix performance issues.
