Well back before YTMND found it, it is this great kids show where this pink haired girl named stephanie moves to a new city and her and this sports superhero guy sportacus gets all the kids to basically play instead of laying around all day, and the bad guy robby rotten tries to get them to be lazy. But the best part of the show is the music, it's so totally like euro-dance music.

And of course now that the ytmnd people found it... it's basically a show for pedo's.

My kids like the show. The guy who plays Sporticus is also the creator of the show. Apparently it's a big hit in Iceland. Anywho, he started the show because he thought kids were too lazy and needed to get up and move around. Stephanie's dances are supposed to get the little kids to get up and dance with her.

It's a Sesame Street type show... for little kids. It's played on Nick Jr and Noggin.

Well... little-er kids than Sesame Street. I think Sesame Street is aimed at preschoolers, others are aimed at toddlers.

I was talking about shows for kids who aren't even potty trained yet. Totally different demographic.

Erm... What channel is that on? I'll put Disney Channel or Noggin on. They don't watch it until a catchy song comes on. The rest of the time they play with toys... and trying to hit each other in the head with a toy.

Is The Big, Comfy Couch still on the air? I remember seeing that one at McDonald's back around 1996 or '97, and I still remember the one episode where Loonette brought a caterpillar inside thinking that she was going to raise it as a pet, and the caterpillar died, so she had to put the caterpillar in a matchbox and bury it while singing some song about saying goodbye....

After all the YTMND's and 4Chan crap I started to watch the show too. It'd be more fun if I was younger. The songs are alright and I think the guy who plays Robby is hillarious. I think that might be the same guy who played Jay Leno in that "Late Night Wars" TV Movie. That guy's chin is huge.

I first saw an ad for the show on one of the bus's in Disney World last year. It had a picture of Sportacus and it said the guy who played him was a world champion gymnast.

They say the girl that plays Steph is 15 and the costume and the makeup make her look younger. I'd still wait till he's 18, she's friggen cute! :naughty:

I still think this song is the best on the show, enjoy.

Not for nothing but she's still a freakin CHILD. Only like.... Joe should be the only one interested in this chick as much as some people here are.

It's okay to recognise her as being attractive; it's wrong to do anything about that impulse.

Example: Natalie Portman in "The Professional" aka "Leon". Thought she was completely stunning, didn't go writing letters to her to tell her I thought so. Hence, I'm fine.

Also... can we drop the "Joe is a pedophile" thing? It's the kind of joke that is one day going to seriously backfire.

Joe... STARTED that joke. If he's ok with it then so should the rest of us. We all KNOW he's not really a Pedo...I don't think. :notme:

I know he started it, but:

1) it pops up all the time and isn't (imo) funny any more
2) the fact it touches on the gay=pedo link is pretty ugly and probably a disincentive for any other people to say if they are gay or not
3) it's also the kind of joke that can be misunderstood and then it ends up with Joe on a special watch list for the rest of his life <- slight exaggeration, but you get my point

This is just my opinion, of course, but I understand how a group joke can start off funny and end up a millstone around someone's neck.

Bitter Babe
06-23-2006, 01:59 AM
Umm...I think you are reading way too much into it. I doubt a joke about Joe is going to stop being from saying they are gay or not. I don't give a damn if someone is gay or not and it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with being gay since pedophiles can like little girls too. This conversation started about 15 year old girl, not boy.

This thread bothers me more then it should but I seriously can't shake the impression that it passed "inappropriate" a long time ago and now resides squarely in "completely fucked up." I can see making a joke out of it (Though I'm not amused. At all.) a lot of these posts are out of line. Not to mention more then enough to close this thing.

That however, I leave up to the Administration.

I notice that the hubub over Stephanie has masked the REAL danger of this video. Note how it repeats over and over to not deviate from the recipe one iota. Talk about suppressing creativity and uniqueness. This video is all about blind obedience to authority and never questioning anything as you goose-step your way through the baking process. :P ;)

And still a MINOR. When she hits 16, she's legal in more than half the USA and most of the countries in the world :P

Seriously, though, I don't think the humor comes from the pedophile-funny side as much as "innocent little children's show being turned into a perversion" funny. Just like when Falwell or Robertson called Tinkeewinky gay. It became a joke because it's a kids show, not necessarily that Tinkeewinky might seem gay.

In other words, it's funny to try to turn innocent things into something dirty. It always has, always will be. Usually doing so means toeing the line between appropriate and inappropriate.

As a mom with several little ones (and one that isn't so little... two if you count the hubby), that's all I thought this was. I'm going to be honest here, I read this thread and then showed a pic of her in the pink wig to my oldest, he wasn't impressed. Showed him the pic of her without the wig, he can't wait till she's 16. He's 16. She's one year younger than he is. That seems normal for him to think she's hot.

And you know what else, she is cute. The same kind of cute in many child actors where you think "Wow, s/he's gonna be hot one day." Which, interestingly enough, I thought Mary Kate and Ashley looked like a monkey on Full House. Damn, ugly baby.

Anyway. No, It's seems more like some people who are close to her age think she is hot, and to them, being close to her age, she probably is. Sorry but I think the whole pedophilia thing was actually an afterthought that took off on it's own and will now haunt you all!
