To Power Level Or not to Power Level...

That...is the question.

I made an ALT that I'm just inlove with (Sort of a Batman Rip). But I've been threw the low level missions about 30x's now. I've been threw the FrostFire mission so many times he knows to just lay down and surrender when I enter the door...So I ask this.

Do you think it's ok to PL a character in my situation? If so, how does one go about Pl'ing and how is it done...

Aside from the occasional SG team ups I'm generally a Solo oriented gamer. Hell, I've never done a task force yet... :grr:

Anyhoo, what ya think...opinions on PL'ing?

I don't mind PLing. I don't think it hurts the game for other players.

I don't moind powerleveling and sometimes help do it.

Here's what to do:

Go to PI, to Portal Corp and ask for a PL, usually people won't just give them out so a bribe is sometimes needed. If you are 41-46 you can say "Level whatever, Looking to middle for herders", you'll get a team in no time.

(As for ways to PL...I'm not sure if we're allowed to post on that...)

(Although, an EFFECTIVE leveling method, is to get an eight member team, and do the highest levels at invincible...not exactly free xp...but it does come fast...and unfortunately, if the team is bad, so does the debt...)

Well, since all of you seem ok with this, could anyone help me with a low level controller I have, I want to play him out, but I want or need a travel power to get him going so any help from 7 to 14 (on Virtue) would be great.

I've got nothing against powerleveling as long as you've been through most of the content for the first time.

Some arcs are worth revisiting, however, there is no reason at all for you to have to do every single one of them over again.

Meh...being lvl 44 I get PL invites all the time......ALL the time.....I for one am againt PLing in general but if you want to do it thats no skin off my back :p

Pretty much agreed here, I'm at the "Sweet spot" for bridging ATM as well...the requests do get somewhat annoying, to the point I had to add in a "No bridges" comment to my search screen.

Now that I'm 41 I don't bother. I plan to get to 50 through arcs and missions galore so it actually feels like I've done something. Though in this case it's fine. I plan to do the same thing with an ALT after Yin hits 50.

I know what you mean. I level Veikira threw missions and street justice about 99.3% of the time.

It doesn't work that way.

I will NEVER, EVER powerlevel someone who flat out asks to be powerleveled. I will only powerlevel if I'm feeling generous, or if I need to pay someone back a favor.

Unfortunately, my powerlevel tool Krypto can't do it anymore since Issue 3.

And Veikira, the best way I've found to powerlevel, is to hang out with some higher level people in some of their outdoor missions, or even indoor missions. Big 8 man teams will yeild enormous XP.
Hell, just today I got probably 3-4 bars at level 35 from Frosty's Dreck mission.

Alternatives to this, are to have people herd in outdoor missions. There are a few missions that are more favorable to herd than others, but I'm not going to name any names.

It's hard for me to distinguishe between PLing and regular teaming by the definitions people use. Often I'll be on a big 8-man team and I (or another player) will be 2-3 levels below the rest. Is that PLing? Hell if I know.
