I can't take the drama here anymore. I'm leaving. *storms out*
Okay. Kidding. :)
Seriously, though, I leave for France on Monday and will have access to the Internet if I'm lucky. Chances are I'll be completely incommunicado until I get back on the 26th.
I spent most of the afternoon today checking and re-checking my emergency binder, color-coding my backup emergency folder, and re-organizing the emergency binders I made for my principal and my other chaperone. It was horrible because in preparing these binders I had to think about all the worst possible scenarios in order to know what I'd need "in the event of..." So, yeah. gave myself kind of a big freakout there.
I've been to France several times before; just not with other people's children under my 24/7 responsibility. That's the part that's got me worried if I let it.
My principal is super chill about it, he knows (and has told me) I've over-prepared for this trip. The kids I have going are good kids who aren't likely to get themselves into trouble deliberately. I have a student:chaperone ration of 9:2 which is a really good ratio. And I'm traveling with a student travel company that has been doing high school trips to France for longer than I've been alive. So I shouldn't worry.
And really, I'm super excited. We had our last meeting with the students, where we went over final packing lists and last-minute details, on Thursday. The kids were so excited and it was so great to see that energy. It will be good to be dans l'Hexagone again. I can almost smell the baguette...
*sigh*
So that's how it's been the past few days. Alternating between utter excitement and utter terror. Or maybe that's the concussion. :P
I plan to post to my RPs, to get them to a good pause point, and that's pretty much it.
See you all in a couple weeks!
