Found a site comparing the various dimensions of almost every Space vessel you can imagine...and yes...I'm a freakin huuuuge geek :D
http://www.merzo.net/index.html
Just noticed..they even put Unicron in there :P.

Awesome, I've been looking for this site (well not really, since I could have Googled it at any time but I meant to). The neat thing is all the ships are draggable for comparision purposes.
And the moment I knew this was the geekiest site in history is when I saw the ship from Titan A.E. :chuckle:

They even remembered to include a Dyson sphere. I haven't even heard mention of a Dyson sphere since my old GURPS: Space days.
Holy crap. :yoy:

I love the fact that it's listed under "Big." heh
I am currently running a Stargate RPG (pencil and paper) that's set on a Ringworld, though I thought of a Dyson Sphere first.

The Star Trek Next generation episode with the Dyson Sphere and good old Scotty was one of the best

Its always nice to meet other tabletop gamers. :)
But yeah, "Big". That is pretty funny. I guess there was no way to fit "-500000X" on that zoom tab. :D
Even HALO gets dwarfed by the Ringworld and the Dyson sphere. I kind of wonder why the guy forgot to include the moon's diameter in the -2000X tab, though.
(Was the second Death Star bigger than the first one? I never noticed.)
And a note to Mars: Our moon's bigger than yours. Or bigger than Phobos, anyway. I'm not sure about Deimos. But I hear it's pretty small too.

For all this, the only thing i can say is: size doesnt matter. :P
Also im kinda surprised they didnt put any vulcan ships in there, and i didnt see any federation vessels either.
Making that site must have been a consuming job, requiring alot of effort. Overall, the effect is definitely impressive.

It is a fun site. :D
One funny thing I noticed is that if you take the Rebel Blockade Runner from its own entry (under the -2X tab) and drag it up to the Blockade Runner which is hovering just beneath the Star Destroyer, the Star Destroyer's Runner is just a hair longer. Maybe they're different models or something. :D
For all this, the only thing i can say is: size doesnt matter. :P
I dunno...a TIE Fighter taking on a Super Star Destroyer? My money is not on the TIE Fighter....

Were you on the right Zoom tab? There's a Vulcan Warp Sled, a few Federation Starship such-and-such (couldn't find the Enterprise, oddly enough), Deep Space Nine....

I agree. It's effort to an obsessive, fanatical degree. But science fiction fans everywhere will appreciate it.
I mean, they even got the Gunstar from The Last Starfighter. How cool is that? :)
The only thing that bugs me is how they included sizes for the Bugs from Starship Troopers (ugh), but they didn't include the xenomorphs from the Alien movies. I'm wondering how a xenomorph Hive Queen stacks up to a Tanker Bug, damn it....

Yep, on the bottom of -2.
Cant find the vulcan warp sled. But i guess these vulcan ships can be hard to find if theyre of the no-ring variety...

Well, even in spaceship form, Ryo-Ohki is not even as big as an earth suspension bridge. I'd be more interested in the size of Tsunami.
What I found fascinating is that the Babylon 5 ships, and Andromeda, are MUCH bigger than the Star Trek ships. I always assumed that Bab 5, because it represented lower technology, had smaller ships. Yet a Whitestar seems to be about the same size as the Enterprise, even though it didn't seem to have as large a crew.
It's possible that the Star Trek technology just packs more power into a smaller area, and the other ships are primarily engines and power source. And of course, the Bab 5 ships that use rotating sections to produce gravity may be forced into a particular size because of the physics involved. I find myself wondering where they came up with all that raw material, though...

What I always liked about Babylon 5 was it had a realness to the tech. Star Trek has heisenburg compensators and intertial dampeners, Babylon 5 has rotating space stations for gravity, gates for travelling long distances, a believability about it. Star Wars was long ago in a galaxy far far away, you either get it or you don't.

Luke Skywalker was jerk-hacking the exhaust port. :D
I bet Star Destroyers don't have exhaust ports big enough for a torpedo to fit through.

On the 10X page, between the Nebari Pod and the Imperial Shuttle.
And there's a Vulcan T'Pau on the 1X and -2X pages, abiout five ships up from that huge, ugly Stargate monstrosity. Can you identify any more?

Ah, yes...a fierce warrior from the Volkswagen Hive. And Chewbacca. And himself. The guy who put this site together has a sense of humor, eh? :)
Oh I'm just getting started, where's the Cygnus, and the Palamino?
The Cygnus got torn up by some big honkin' singularity with a cathedral and Hell inside it, and the Palamino got shot to smouldering bits by the Cygnus when Harry Booth wussed out and took off with it.
A pineapple nerd cookie goes to whoever can name that movie. Not you, Inky. You're already a nerd. :D
*wonders why Apollo 13, the Satellite of Love, the Recognizers from Tron, the Nebuchadnezzar and the Sentinels from The Matrix and the space ambulance from Supernova are nowhere to be seen*

That proves my point. Luke was able to destroy something as big as the death star, but he'd have problems with a star destroyer. Size doesnt matter. :P

On a side note, the Defiant (from DS9) is way bigger than i remembered.

Enterprise(NCC-1701, no bloody A, B, C, D, or E) was a Constitution class vessel, you silly! They are merely displaying the class namesake.

"The Black Hole". Featuring Ernest Borgnine as Harry Booth. Where is my cookie?
There IS a Saturn 5 launch vehicle displayed so you may imagine the Apollo 13 CSM at the top.
I see they included the Sulacco, but what about the derelict spaceship from the original "Alien"?

While it certainly holds some geek'ish value, that he collected so many space films' vehicle, I'm a little disappointed that he did not include the Carrier from the Wildstorm Series The Authority.
