So Finland won by dressing as Klingons, but in my mind Lithuania won (http://youtube.com/watch?v=JEpyDDLpB-I&search=eurovision%20lithuania). My favourite thing is that people take it serious enough to boo them.

The Eurovision Grand Prix is sort of like Idol, except 50 years old, a bit more "respected" and mainly just used as yet another competition between European countries. And I apoligize deeply on behalf of all of Denmark for not only this year's entry, but also for winning in 2000 with that horrible "On the Wings of Love."
However I thought we sort of prematurily paid for that with the excellent "Dansevise" from 1963.

Eurovision is a musical monument to bland. Imagine a group of European countries getting the most paint-by-numbers pop songs together and sending them all to compete for the championship of most bland song of the year.
Well, you don't have to imagine it - that's Eurovision.
The reason I've watched it for more than 5 seconds is the British commentator who makes fun of the event all night. Comments like (paraphrased), "And here comes Malta, for whom the modern dance movement stopped 30 years ago" make watching this event a bit more special.

The year Israel won with a transsexual performer was special though.

I just wondered that Croatia didn't placed higher after the scandal about the sex tape of its female performer.
And I'm a little sad that Germany placed so low. That has nothing (or not much) to do with patriotism, but finally after years of horrible performances we finally had a good song, that was quick and ear-catching and happy, and then we have to lose against the staff from "The Munsters"

I watched the ending of that. (Just before announcing the winners, they show a short clip from each band. So you get to laugh at them without having to sit through the whole horrible song.)
I was blown away that Lordi won. I mean, LOOK AT THEM! They look like the love child of Slipknot and something out of Evil Dead!
Dissapointingly, their song sucked just as much as everyone elses. It just sucked in a slightly different genre.

I was so disappointed with the UK's entry.
I mean, couldn't we have put a person who could sing in? He was just talking.
Really liked Germany's number, though. I wanted them to win, lol.
