Alright, played a flash game called Musical Lanterns, and got hooked on Vanessa Mae's "Cancan" remix. I listen to it all the time, though I've never listened to music of the kind before. It follows me wherever I go. It's in my head at all times. I love it. That is all. O_o

Anyone else listen to this or just heard of her? ... Don't look at me like that, foo'. :grr:

Of course, Vanessa Mae, the Asian violin player. Remixes classical music in a rock kind of way. Known her for years.

This thread made me think of Moulin Rouge, the scene where Ziggler shouts "EVERYBODY CANCAN!" And then they all do.

Good times.

Cool. I thought everyone loathed it for being too "silly". Most of the people I know RL hate it.

I've gotten that reply from people too.

It must be a Bay Area/Canuck thing.

You should have jumped into the band-sedan sooner.

Oh, I loved Moulin Rouge, don't get me wrong. The music was brilliantly used to enhance the story. I loved it from the moment Ewan McGregor broke into "THE HILLS ARE ALIIIIIIVE!"

In fact, I need to get the karaoke disc with "The Elephant Medley" on it, and find a girl to do Nicole Kidman's part... that would be awesome at karaoke.

Duke:Yes, but what happens in the end?

The courtesan and sitar man
Are pulled apart by an evil plan...
But in the end she hears his song...
And their love is just too strong.

It's a little bit funny,
This feeling inside...

So exciting, the audience will stomp and cheer!
So delighting, it will run for 50 years--!

Sitar player's secret song,
helps them flee the evil one...
Though the tyrant rants and rails,
it is all to no avail!

Zidler:
I am the evil maharajah! You will not escape!
Satine:
Oh Harold, no one could play him like you could!
Zidler:
No one's going to!

So exciting, we'll make them laugh
we'll make them cry!
So delighting --!

Duke: And in the end should someone die?

So exciting, the audience will stomp and cheer!
So delighting it will run for 50 years...!

Duke: Generally, I like it...!
