Dear Diary,

Here I sit, at the top of our hill, by our water tower, thinking to myself.... how in the world did I end up here! Of all the places my parents could've lived, why here!

My name is Sandy, and I live on a farm in Salamanca, Rhode Island. Population: Declining. There's nothing to do here besides hanging out at the Tom's Coffee Shop and chores. Annd then there's running from the occassional Ghost, Witch, Sidhe, and Redcap. But I prefer not to think of that as something to do for entertainment.

Luckily, I have Eva. She's my best friend(though she may say otherwise if you ask her.) Heck, she's the reason I'm starting a Diary again. I really wanted a Livejournal like she has, but for that, I need a computer. But Pops won't buy me one, so it's back to the old fashioned way: Pen and paper.

All the other kids act like they are above me because my father is a farmer. Not Eva! Even though she's rich, she's still an outsider. She is what everybody called an "Emo" whatever that is. It could mean Emo-tional, but I never saw Eva exhibit any other emotion besides sadistic sarcasm... if that's an emotion.

Anyways, Eva was the first real friend I've had in a long time, and that's not including Sally, the lake creature. Eva even let me come to her parents' condo over on Main Street! I never knew something so expensive could exist here in Salamanca! Not only that, but they let me eat dinner with them!

My mom says that Eva is the best thing that could've happened to me. And I agree! Unfortunately, things can't always be that way. Eva told me last Monday that she was going to have to move to Paragon; Her father found a better place in the city, and she has to leave me behind. I'm sad... I don't think Eva really cares. As she said "It's only a 60-Minute tram ride away, punk." Which would be cool if Pops would let me go, but he would never let me step one foot outside of Salamanca. All I know about the city is from what I see on the news.

Whenever I ask him about letting me go to Paragon, he gets all evasive, saying that I'm not ready for the city. He always says "The City?! It's too dangerous for a girl like you! You could get lost! Or get abducted by one of those Vahzilok ceatures! Is that what you want? To grow up with your head on one zombie, and your body on another?!" And that's usually when I remind him that Salamanca is not exactly the most ideal place in the world. Then he retorts with "You don't have reasonable transportation there, because I'm not driving you! Plus, you don't know anyone there. Maybe when you're more responsible, ok hon?"

Well, I've developed a plan! It's full-proof; I've showed that I can be more responsible; Not only have I maintained a 3.67 GPA, but I've undertaken more chores around the farm! Plus, I saved up enough money for a ticket from the newly built tram, providing me with safe transportation from Salamanca to Paragon. And with Eva living in Paragon, I'll have a place to stay.

Eva says I'm madder than The Clock Work King. Now, I don't know who he is, but if he's the King, then he must be very innovative, like myself. I think what Eva was trying to say, in her usualy sarcastic manner, was that she doesn't think I care about her leaving. And that's just not true. I'm really going to miss her! But I really must take advantage of the opportunity her departure brings me.

As Mom always said "Everything happens for a reason!" How right you are, Mom! How right you are!

~Sandy~

Time: 2:00am
Emotion: Bored

Dear LJ,

Well I'm sitting here on the roof of this lovely penthouse Daddy bought. It lets me see the whole of Atlas Park. I can actually see the Atlas Statue from here. It boggles the mind as to why all the spandex types like to hang out there for some reason. I mean don't the tights set have anything else to do? Its like 2:00am on a summer's night and the heat is irritating yet there they are in all their four color glory.

You're probably wondering what I'm talking about. I should introduce myself. You can call me Eva. As to how I got here its an story to say the least. We lived in Salamanca, Rhode Island in the best townhouse/condo Daddy's money could buy. But as the saying goes money doesn't buy happiness but it sure does buy a lot. Most of the kids in school shunned me because of the money. Vast majority were from out in the farms anyway. Including my best friend Sandy. (Please don't let her find out I think she's my best friend, it could kill my rep after all)

I guess before I go any further I should say a bit about the island. It has some sort of mystical connection or some sort of magic happened. I'm not the superstitious type but I've seen my fair share of weirdness. Ghosts, witches, faeries, underpants gnomes (they call them redcaps but still they look like they are in their shorts for crying out loud!)

Salamanca was the last stop on my family's moving spree. Unfortunately that is where mom was killed. Somebody must have had it in for Daddy (personally I have some theories on that but I'll keep them to myself for now). But Daddy has connections of his own. On of which is a spandex type named Charon.

So this Charon person called Daddy a few weeks back telling him to pack us up and move us to the City. I admit I may have eaves dropped on the conversation but I was only hanging up the phone when he called.

He informed me then I had to go tell Sandy we were leaving. She protested but I told her is was for my own sanity and her's. I tried to let her down easy. But then I had an idea! She could come visit us in Paragon City. They actually have a new tram that was put in place to go from the island to the City. Brilliant idea isn't it? Well I better go on to my bed. Going to be busy. I meet my new archery teacher out at the range in the northern part of Atlas later this morning.

Time: 10:00am
Emotion: Excited

Dear LJ,

I met my new archery teacher teacher today (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v123/kid_atomic/City%20of%20Heroes%20Stuff/Red-Line.jpg). Talk about yummy! Oh my god! He's a hunk! The red hair and those eyes! I must have Sandy meet him when she gets here. She will just melt. Oh and get this! He's one of the spandex set. Figures, right? Guess Daddy could not stand to leave well enough alone. My teacher said he goes by the name Red-Line. I guess Red Lion must have been taken. He explained to me about what they did for heroes over at city hall. I may have to look into this. Could be an amusing side hobby besides putting quills into hay bales.

Oh speaking of doing such things. Sarah-Jane was such a snot today in class. I could not believe how she tried to fawn all over the guy. I mean he's just a plain ordinary human like me, doing a job even if it is rather strange. Anyway so Sarah-Jane was a snot so everytime I aimed and fired my bow I imagined her perfect featured face in my sites and let fly. By the end of class I had achieved a perfect score.

I think I may have to call Sandy and tell her about it. I think she would like that. Then I can invite her over to have dinner with us and she will get to see what a great big city is like.

Logging off for now.

~Eva~
