Well there it is, what was supposed to be the end of Moon Jump, now with RV and the new changes with Force Fields I wanted to respec Jump now that I have a free respec and with the new I7 patch on the way.

It was so easy in the past, just fully slot the power for what you wanted, so being a shielder I just put all defence into the powers as well as my fitness pool, yes..behold the six slotted hurdle! (I could pretty much jump like I had Hurdle on but it didn't use any endurance or have that misty thing when you put a jump power on)

So now that ED is in the game, what should I do? I was thinking of making all my 50+'s ++'s because the shields defence is only %61, so hopefully the number will go up.

On all of my attacks I'm going to double the ACC and have three Dam and add holds into the tenticals since NOW they use the enhancements! Dark Star I use just for a transformation so I'm going to leave it with a damage.

I took the power mastery pool as well, I have the end power 6'ed for time, which I will split and add that to the damage one and I will axe the attack power because I don't need a close range attack.

I also have Super Speed, Hasten and Grant Inviz, I'm going to axe them and get PFF and Replusion Field.

Let me know what's good to slot for the FF powers with ED. I'm also thinking of picking up leadership now that I'm going to be getting rid of a few powers.

No Hami-O's....

You got to play with there, I wish I knew more about Dark Blast to help you out.

I have ONE Hammi. Why? Because it's ****ING BORING fighting the Hami as a Shielder. All I do is stand their till they give the attack order and I try my best to hit the stupid thing while I lag for 30 minutes.

I can't put my shields on anybody and if I put my Dispersion Field on everybody will lag so I stay far away from the hive.

Well, my only advice is to leave Dispersion Bubble 6-slotted, and slot it 3 Def and 3 End. You'll need the End since Stamina can only be 3 slotted now. The same goes for Health and Hurdle, so you'll be taking 9 slots out of there.

Deflection and Insulation Shield I can't tell you about, though, because I don't use them. I finally got Deflection Shield, but I never team anyway. I can't imagine you wanting to 3 slot it for Endurance, so I'd guess you'll have 4 or 5 slots in there.

You might want to slot your attacks for more Endurance, as well. I don't know if you have End problems, but again, you're losing 1/3 of your End regeneration. It might be more efficient to slot End instead of hold, in TT, or just put more End in the other attacks. You'll have plenty of extra slots anyway.

Maybe some more slots in Life Drain and Force Bolt? I have Force Bolt 3 slotted, personally. I understand Force Bubble and Repulsion Field (for interrupting Stalkers) are supposed to be big PvP things, but I don't know the first thing about any of that.

Thanks for the responce. Hardly anybody ventures into the Archetype boards.

I took Jump out last night to try the Gladiator battles with Wids. I saw his shields were at 64-62% I thought to myself, If I combine them and make them into three's I should get a boost, right? Turns out they went down to 53%!

Then I looked at the fitness pool, they had 115% in all three of them. :eyebrow:

I think I'm going to wait till Issue 7 comes to respec him. I might keep the shields 6 slotted for defence only, get rid of Grant Inviz, the Speed Pool and lessen the damage slots in my attacks and get PFF and Replusion Field and put more slots into Dispersion Bomb.

Six slotting DOES still give you an increased bonus in the post-ED world, it is just not AS MUCH of a bonus. That's something many people forget. You're not actually penalized (i.e. lose points) for six slotting, you still get something. The bigger issue is that if you put that SO in another power (or used another type of SO) you would get more benefit, proportionally.

Seriously, once you get to the point where you're putting slots in your Pool defenses, or slotting Force Bolt for damage when it does practically none as it is, you'll get a lot more out of slotting your bubbles.

Also remember that bubbles, since they are a defense, use a different progression than attacks. They cap out at ~60%, not ~100%. It goes something like this:

Slots Offense Defense
1 SO 33.3% 20.0%
2 SO 66.7% 40.0%
3 SO 95.0% 57.0%
4 SO 100% 60.0%
5 SO 105% 63.0%
6 SO 110% 66.0%

I think Speed and Jump Height are a third progression, to about 140% at the cap, which may explain your Fitness numbers. Although AFAIK Health and Stamina should cap at 110% for 6 SOs. Maybe the extra 5% is for the plusses.

Along those same lines, if you have yellow Enhancements, -1 or -2 levels to you, then that will drop the number accordingly. And the ED cap is applied after the numbers are calculated. So 4 SOs can actually stay near the cap if you have some yellow Enhancements, when 3 SOs might drop as low as 80%, or 50% for defense. I actually keep 4 SOs in my bubbles for that reason. Note also that 4 SOs under the new system is the same as 3 SOs under the old system.

Me, I always felt that 6 SOs should go all the way to 120%. It would still be a major reduction (200% to 120%? yeah) but be enough of a bonus that those who wish to slot that way for concept reasons would still be getting some return.

AFAIK, Force Field has not changed.

Defense HAS changed, however, in that high level and rank foes now get a boost to Accuracy instead of To Hit. That means Defense works better against higher level and rank foes, and thus Force Field works better against them.
