Due to legal reasons. We are unable to use the old forum header (with the freakshow) and as we were aiming for a fresh start I thought we could...MAKE A NEW ONE!

So here's the premise. I want YOU, our posters to put together a good forum banner to be used for our site. Once all entries are in, there will be a poll and you can vote which one you would like to see up there.

I had the idea of remaking the banner with diffrent pictures and other topics, but I couldn't find the pictures for what I wanted and thats not exactly a fresh start type banner if it's similar. Perhaps one of our many artists could make a banner? Could be drawn, sprited, etc..

Even if there ARE valid legal reasons for this (which I doubt, it's way too small of a thing to ever get to court), surely they would release them to us. After all, we were the ones who created all that in the first place; OGaming had nothing to do with it. If they're actually serious about trying to patch things up over there, I'm sure they'd be willing to let it go. They can't own the forum skins.

At any rate, I say we make this place look like the old pre-Beta forums.

I belive my legal skills may be a bit rusty but if i rember correctly, Unless O gaming is a substidary or owned in part or has legal consent from Cryptic/NCSoft any claims of them owning any property and tradmark likness of City of heroes characters and or objects are moot and you can basically tell them to go shove it. They can't claim legal ownership over an item that isnt theres. and when i say that is I cant claim ownership of Spidermn altho i have had a friend draw me a picture.

Well that was just something I did way back when...of course the actual banner will be much smaller.

If you guys want the megas instead then that's something I don't have to bother doing...cause it will be taken care of by someone else. :)

ooo..I like the timm style myself. I have a link in the help section at crey to a forum(DCU Anmiated - site is down - forums are up) with timm templates in it. I used them for most of the primary images of my heroes at crey.

that's cool, Icy. MAybe u can give the "COHGURU.com" some depth. more 3dish. duplicating that layer behind, filling it with the stroke color and moving it a bit up and to the side. it would look neat. and adding my mega too, of course. :chuckle:

Voting probably wouldn't be best. Everyone would probably A) Just vote for themselves and/or B) Hate people because they didn't vote for them. I think it would cause more division then good.

I'm all for 2 banners, though. Maybe have it change each you visit the site (if that's possible.)

LOL, Its cause the game came out and I sort of stopped making them... I think I still have a sticky note somewhere with a list of characters I haven't done yet...

That and female Megas are a lot harder to make than the male ones... Megaman sprites just don't have enough Boob! :P

He's doing a great job, but if he wants to have more room, why not make the banner bigger? I'm mean, that's only about half of the top of the screen.As for this one the anwser is very simple.. some people have smaller screen settings, whats half for you is near full for others. Unless I get confirmation that the majority is at 1024x768 or higher, it's not fair for some.. o.o
