Big Bug in CoH

The following bug was just identified by QA. Please be aware of this bug and let other members of the community know about this issue.

If you are defeated and then attempt to load to a new zone you will crash and then be unable to log back in with that character.

This can happen with being defeated at the end of a mission and then zoning out before going to hospital, dying and using a tram, or dying and then logging out and trying to come back in. The crash occurs while trying to load the zone and does not happen if you use the "Go to hospital" option.

So, if you are defeated - ALWAYS use the go to hospital option or use a res inspiration/power. Do not zone while defeated.

We will be addressing this issue very soon (today).

Ouch...that is a pretty bad one, on a similar note for anyone having graphics issues (blank contract portraits, costume issues etc..) if you use a Radeon card I swapped out the Catalyst 5.4 drivers and installed the latest Omega drivers and all my issues were resolved.

Isn't that only on Test? It happened when I copied Sable over to Test, because she's lying face down in a mission on Live right now.

Oh well, even if it is, better safe than sorry I guess. That's a nasty bug though.

I'm not sure about a timeframe. But this must be live and test. This was in the announcements section of the coh boards.

They annonced it ingame on the Live servers, so it's live.

I didn't know you COULD zone while defeated. I know you can zone while stunned/held. (And that's saved my bacon LOTS of times) But I had never tried to exit a mission while defeated.

Not being able to log back in, if you log out while defeated, now that's a more serious issue. I hope as Xelios says, it fixes itself if you crash and then try to log in again later.

I had the same issue on my laptop and the catalyst 4.9 seemed to resolve it..but then my radeon on this machine is an older one, mobility 9000...

I've run for the mission door (run Hollis, run!) and clicked on the door just as the mob hits me for a killing blow. It's kinda funny when there are others on your team already outside... you walk out the door and then fall flat on your face.

Nasty bug that one. Hope they get it cleared out soon.

Or you coud die just as the mission ends and then hit the exit mission button. Same thing happens.

He's still alive. I yak at him on AIM every once in a while. He says he means to visit more often, but he forgets. I think he is distracted because the host for his website is being buggy and uncooperative lately.
