It's time for another random thread of mine. This mostly pertain to myself, but I was wondering how others felt as well.

Now I'm not a picky person when it comes to fashion and coordination of everyday garms....

But I do get myself together and try to look presentable at least.

You can usually find me rocking a nice shirt and jeans, or slacks depending on the season and the occasion and some nice shoes to boot.

Funny thing, my friends think I have a good sense of style at least...I don't. (I tend to wear alot of comical t-shirts these days like my "Fat people are hard to kidnap" and "Cereal Killer" t-shirts.)

But I do have the nice button up polo shirts or gap..or whatever..

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are... :P

Jeans. Sneakers/sandles or boots. Sweater or t-shirt. Shorts and tank-tops in the summer.
I'm not overly keen on dressing up yet my workplace has that damnable dress code. (which I stretch as far as I can) ;)

I think I could have worded my title better lol...something a bit more flasher... :)

That's awesome Mina! I'm not one for dressing up everyday..My superboss wants me to be a bit more professional..(No baggy jeans and maybe a shirt and tie.)

Maybe if they gave me a higher postion...and something I didn't have to deal with being dirty everyday.. O_o

Either way..He got over it. I wear shorts occasionally..Not a whole lot. Tryin to more now...

and I normally wear boots and the like..(even with shorts) I went and bought three pairs of sneakers (Nike/Reebok/Adidas). To go with some new t-shirts I got...(Speed Racer and Superman)

I wear khakis and polo shirts to work every day. Nothing fancy or namebrand.

I like jeans for when I'm going out, mostly because my khakis get dirty during the week, and I don't like to do laundry on weekends. As far as shirts go, it's usually t-shirts. I always wear a white t-shirt underneath any other shirt I wear. If I don't have a white t-shirt on underneath, I feel naked.

Oh, and I have a pair of shiny black Sketchers that look really nice, and I wear them pretty much everywhere.

Being po' for the bulk of my life I'm relegated to clothes shopping at discount retalilers Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and the like (black Hanes Pocket Tees, Black/Blue Jeans, Khaki pants, basic sneakers or work boots)... every so often when I get the cash I'll hit the mall and rifle through the clearance racks or sales table at Foleys and Sears and JC Penney and find a couple sets of nicer looking clothes, button up shirts w/ collars, dress pants, some shiny shiny shoes, etc.

EDIT: I was once given a shirt, in High School, that said "Mother Shabooboo, Queen Of Brazil"... but that was just... weird. O_o

My last job had me in Khaki's & a dress shirt for the last 4 years...needless to say I usually would wear Jeans & sweats at almost every oppurtunity outside of work :D, unless I was hitting a club (something I don't do any more due to the impending marriage :P) then I'd usually be decked out a little better, it helped a lot that I worked at the Gap offices..50% discount.

Sebastian Kain

s..50% discount.

You still got these discounts 8? I could always use some more clothes...(got too many lol)

I've been shoping with Old Navy as of late...it's the cheaper Gap. :P

Don't knock Wally Mart... I like shopping there. Heck, all my favorite shoes come from there. Penny's, Sears, Kohls, TJMaxx whatevea. I don't really like shopping for clothes and I don't like spending alot of money when I have to. Even though I get a 50% discount for clothes from work also... they are still too expensive and kinda not my taste in style in clothes. I'm not terribly fashionable. *shrug*

Most of my stuff's from Jack & Jones (www.jackandjones.dk), and it usually varies from all variations of jeans (regular jeans, bleached jeans, jean with print etc.), same with T-shirts, the occacional shirt, hooded jackets and more presentable jackets (and a single "presentable" jacket with prints as seen in the "Prom" thread.)

I usually refrain from using sunglasses, caps and other kinds of headdresses, because I look stupid with a lot of it on.

I wear jeans and tshirts about 360 days a year, if not more.
In winter I wear leather boots, when it's warmer I wear my holy Chuck Taylors (classic black or classic red). The only other brand I look for, except my Converse, are my Levis501. Those just fit best and according to Sech my butt looks best in them.
I have a huge tshirt collection. I once managed to study a whole semester and not wear the same tshirt twice. That's 4+ months, new tshirt every day.

*brings thread back to its subject*

I practically live in jeans, t-shirts (lots with Disney characters, couple superheroine ones), polos and sweatshirts. Consider it the official Mommy Uniform. Favorite footwear is Keds, hiking boots or Birks (I've retreaded mine several times over). Usually wear a fleece jacket in winter/spring and switch off with a jeans coat in spring.

Well..recently me & Gap parted ways so no more discount :D, T'is a shame really as I haven't gotten any new summer clothes yet. And you know Gap owns Old navy right (along with Banana Republic...which I still couldn't afford after my discount :P)?

As a laid-back sorta guy, my wardrobe normally is a steady diet of hawaiian shirts or tie dyes, denim or khaki shorts, and sandals.

Lately, I've been bumming it and wearing old corduroys and whatever grungy tshirt I can live with getting dirty and sweaty at work. I work in a water bottling plant and you'd be suprised how much dirt and dust gets on me... everything but the product, really... no clue why.

I hate lookin like a bum... I miss my trademark style.

Long jeans. Haven't worn shorts since elementary school. I prefer darker blues than lighter faded ones, and I like the "relaxed fit" as well. Solid color/striped shirts, I abhor logo shirts of any kind. As for shoes, I try to get the exact same style every time, but alas they change/stop making the shoes I have by the time I need a new pair

I also have a hoodie. Been wearing one since kindergarten. So versatile, use it as a pillow, blanket, sun protection, etc. Think of it as a security blanket

You forgot your Goatee. Speaking of facial hair..I can't decide on a specific look. I think i've been through all of the possible hair combinations. And everyone prefers their different look of me. Well everyone hates my beard for the most part. (full beard) :(

I tend to buy from Costco for the basics. 14.99 for a good pair of khaki cargo pants? You'd be crazy to pass that up.
Then, for the rest, I go:
Here, (when I'm in the country, I stock up.) (http://www.osklen.com/)
And here. (http://www.thinkgeek.com/)
I buy formal-type stuff and shoes at Nordstrom's. I love me my Adidas.

I'm on my feet all day, and sometimes rolling around on the floor or climbing on furniture. So it's gotta be comfortable. I usually wear fitted yoga pants of some sort, dance sneakers, and a babydoll t-shirt or fitted longsleeved tee.

On occasion I'll dress up in a flirty skirt an heelsm but usually it's comfy and functional, and not too baggy.

That said, I *adore* dressing up and would wear dresses and skirts daily if it were practical.

And I do sport a tiara on occasion. ;)

Generic t-shirt and jeans mostly. I also wear a battered pair of surplus assault boots.

Were I able to justify it I'd dress mostly in suits, mainly white. Heh given the opportunity I'd dress exactly like my character: White suit jacket, waistcoat and trousers; black on white Spectators, long black coat (bullet holes optional) and fedora.

I'm sooo sad. :chuckle:

Question for those of us that are fashionly inclined...

how many suits should a guy own? I heard from someone we should have at least 3 to 5 for any occasion.

I'd say one that's semi-casual, and another that'd pass for formal. Cover the basics, Anything else is for specialization.

I usually wear a plain color shirt, nothing on it colors mainly black, blue, or grey, Boot Cut jeans, Not too tight but not too baggy, my work boots, And I put on my black cowboy hat if I decide to go out anywere, except if I was going on a date...yeah, I'm a country boy. :chuckle:

Around the house though it's all about the sweat pants and sleevless shirts... ;)

Shad's response is pretty good. Here's the secret:

One casual suit
One dressy suit (usually a darker color and a more classic cut/fabric)

That's all you need, but the trick is: accessories!

Get the suits in neutral, classic colors, and then update your shirts, ties, shoes, cufflinks, pocket squares, etc. to your heart's content. You can mix and match these accessories to create a new look that ranges from casual to semi-formal in a snap.

Plus you don't have to buy a whole new suit every season: just new accessories.
