Sorry to hear that Rottie. :( I guess I will have to hold the Honor Society together until those guys in tech support get back to work. Have you heard rumors about an educational complex being built in Founders Falls? hmm....

If it's any consolation, I've been waiting for an update from tech support for days. Granted, my problem has been righted, for the most part, but there's still a response forthcoming. If it goes long enough, I'd bump it up the chain.

A few months back, I had to reinstall the base software programs that came with my computer (I have one of those HP computers with the all in one back-up disks). I didn't erase anything. Just overwrote some stuff and most of my problems (aka newer spyware) were solved.
However, in coming back to CoH, I noticed my desktop link was messed up. So, I went into the files and tried the direct link and the updater.
This was a no go. Basically, it wanted to download the WHOLE game again (and I am on dial-up and was NOT gonna be happy sitting for a day or three). So, I took my copy of the newest version of CoH (the DVD one with the Heroclix Statemen freebie) and re-loaded that up. From there, I just started the download patch. Admittedly, while it's no fun waiting for something you may have already downloaded, at least I had a shorter wait for the patches with the newer version.
Of course, my buttons for "Cancel" "Continue" and "Go Back" are still blank; no text. But they work.
This may help you out if you are desperate. :)

(Kept me from the game, but at least I got some shopping done for Mother's Day early)

Fortunately, I returned the computer to a restore point of about two months back, activated, oddly enough, my firewall and its working fine! Weird.
But hey -- it works so how am I to question. :)
