The Widowed

Almost two years ago, the first and the main of all my superheroes took the first step of her long journey into a little disaster zone called Outbreak. Now, at long last, that journey has come to its end.

She had met CryoGentic through a spontaneous fling with a dating service which, while it failed to alleviate the Widowed's grief and depression with a one-night stand thanks to a computer bug, succeeded in introducing her to a new friend. She had met Sonic Star during the bloody three-day skirmish that was the Council uprising, when the two heroes joined forces against the Council upstarts and their Fifth Column forebears. Together the three heroes formed a nigh-unstoppable trio who had only once known total defeat at the hands of the nefarious Giovanna Scaldi. Though many other heroes joined their teams, their special events and their supergroups, the union between the Widowed, CryoGentic and Sonic Star was constant and unshakable. When unavoidable circumstances prevented Sonic Star from being present for the Widowed's promotion to Security Level 50, his absence was sorely felt. But there was solace, as CryoGentic alone was present to witness her final step to becoming one of the many proud Heroes of the City.

Though any trainer in the city would have christened her with the coveted Hero of the City badge, the Widowed--ever a fan of symbolism--chose to return to Galaxy City and to the Back Alley Brawler, the one who had first trained the Widowed up to Security Level 2 when she was a rookie Scrapper fresh out of Outbreak. How fitting it would be, she reasoned, that the trainer who had helped her take the first step of her progression to greatness would be the one to help her take the last step as well.

It was a bittersweet moment when the Back Alley Brawler proclaimed that he could teach her nothing more. There would be nothing more for her to learn, no more attacks or defenses or maneuvers to be discovered and practiced; Any power or ability she came to wield would only come at the expense of other insights. Conversely, her prowess bore an unspoken responsibility: Just as others had showed her the way to becoming one of the foremost Heroes of the City, so would be be charged with helping younger and less experienced Heroes climb higher and higher to attain that final stratum of ascension. And so the Widowed's journey continues.
(In case you haven't found out by now, the pics go clickie.)
And so, to commemorate her long ascent to Security Level 50, the Widowed has opted to throw a celebration!
When: Monday, March 20, 7:00 PM Central.
Where: The Urban Bushido Superdojo, accessible via any supergroup base portal; For reasons to be explained shortly, please enter via the Galaxy City portal if at all possible. Send a Tell to request an invitation into the Superdojo if you are not a member of Urban Bushido or any of Urban Bushido's Coalition affiliates.
Which server: Virtue, of course.
After a while of drinking, eating and chatting among peers (be sure to wear your RP hats), the Widowed will invite any and all present heroes who have attained Security Level 50 to relate their own accounts and experiences of when they became Heroes of the City to those present. Be creative, be descriptive, but be honest; We may have telepaths in attendance too. ;)
After that has finished, the Widowed and any willing Level 50's will gather those present and embark on the Evil-Stompin' Tour de Paragon, in which the assembled Heroes will all wash through the streets of Paragon City and through every zone that the Heroes can access--from Galaxy City to Independence Port, from the Hollows to Brickstown, from Croatoa to Warburg--for no greater purpose than to cream the living snot out of any bad guys whom the living wave of superheroes should wash across. Levels do not matter; With enough Level 40's and 50's, even Giant Monsters shouldn't pose much of a threat, and there will most likely be the spontaneous delight of seeing a Level 50 Blaster (like Malibu Sally or Vindicator) blast a Level 1 Hellion and send him flying well over a city block away, among other delights.... :D
I'll be outfitting the Widowed with some simple text macros so she can direct the flow of the Hero horde, Follow the Leader style. "North!" "Turn right!" That sort of thing. Confused bystanders may be invited by anyone in the horde to jump into the rolling tide and join the fun, though we cannot guarantee their safety if they happen to be Villains in the PvP zones.... >:]
So we have until Sunday to draw out an itinerary for the Evil-Stompin' Tour de Paragon. It will begin in Galaxy City--again, because Widdy's throwing the fiesta and she loves symbolism so much that she'd start it in Outbreak if she could--and it could end...well, anywhere. Galaxy City again? Peregrine Island? The Shadow Shard? We'll come up with something.
Naturally we'll want to save the zones with Security Level requirements for last, as these will unfortunately screen out our lower-ranking celebrants. Said lower-ranking celebrants are free to form their own waves or superheroes and flow through the less restrictive zones unchecked, of course.
(This space has been reserved for the Tour de Paragon route. I'll be coming up with something, but you're welcome to try to beat me to it. ;) )
