It's about time I got this done. Do you know how long it has been since this thread (http://www.cohguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=363) and the resulting tournament took place?

The turnout was a bit disappointing. Of all the members in Urban Bushido, only three of us showed up to test our mettle against each other and determine each Bushi's strengths and weaknesses.

Sonic Star (Scrapper, Martial Arts / Invulnerability)
Heavenly Light (Scrapper, Martial Arts / Super Reflexes [?])
The Widowed (Scrapper, Martial Arts / Super Reflexes)

Each round of each match began at the referee's call, and the referee was to wait until the following conditions had been met:
1) Both duelists were at full health.
2) Both duelists were at full stamina.
3) Both duelists had dropped all toggles, with the possible exception of Sprint. In such close quarters, Sprint didn't make much of a difference anyway.
4) Both duelists had informed the referee that all of their toggles and clicks were recharged and ready to activate.
5) Each duelist had returned to his or her "corner" or base sparring position-- determined by the referee before the match began--and was facing his or her opponent.

Ah, the joy of refereed pit fights.

All too late in the match I realized that Widdy was never going to beat Sonic in defense. And all too late in the match I realized that the only key to Widdy's victory over Sonic Star was the humble and much-lambasted Cobra Strike. The one victory she earned in Round Five was when she eschewed Focused Fighting and instead charged straight into Sonic, delivering a quick Cobra Strike and disorienting him before he could fire up Invincibility. A flurry of punches and kicks followed. And by the time he broke free of the disorient and activated Invincibility, his health was too low to save him from defeat anyway.

That was the only way I could defeat Invulnerability.

Of course, I tried it again in Round Six, but this time Sonic pulled ahead and won the match and the tournament, despite Widdy's best efforts. And so the Golden Belt is rightfully his.

...until next time. >:]

After the deciding round, Widdy turned into a camera and Sonic celebrated his victory by turning on the referee and smacking Heavenly Light around until time ran out. Ha ha ha. :D

Aftermath:

Then, of course, we had gotten it in our heads to try dueling with a trio of newly-created low-level types. So we each created a new Hero and ran through Outbreak together. But then we decided that we liked teaming up with our new Heroes so much, PvP went out the window and we just roamed the city, cutting down anything in our path.

Left to right: Daiblade (Scrapper, Kurai Inago / Sonic Star), Jubei El Draco (Scrapper, The Widowed) and Dream Knight (Defender, Heavenly Light / Cryogentic).

And a fine outing it was. :D

I'd also like to sign Jubei El Draco up for our old Trade-a-Nemesis program, if we ever revive it in these forums. Comin' at ya, Pirate Hollis!

Just in case you ever wondered what a ninja pirate looks like. :D

Of course, you being SL30-something and her being SL18 might have had something to do with that. :D

And yes, she was after a little belated payback. I guess that one round I won kind of encouraged her. Didn't it, Cryo? You naughty ref, you. :D

Oops. Sorry about the edit.

I wonder if I should take Jubei and Blue Valkyrie around the city a few times before bedtime. Hmmm....

Man, that looked like fun. I really need to work on leveling Xaiolin Cowboy.... being level 6 kinda leaves me out of bunches of group events.

Last night must have been UB night. We had Jaded Shuriken make her much awaited return (and she was promoted) then her, myself, and DF proceeded to rip the Crey in Bricks a brand spanking new one. After a bit of discussion we decided to hit the arena in what was originally gonna be a 3 way, but a late entry by Kurai made it a 4 way 10 man domination match. It lasted a little over 30 minutes but I'm sure everyone involved will say it was one of the funnest, closest, and hard fought matches ever. The placings were

Kurai - 4th
Saber - 3rd
DF - 2nd
Jaded - 1st

by the way we capped the lvls at 37 for that match.

After that the three Shodan decided to take it to Sonic Star in a 3 on 1 any lvl match where he wouldn't have to hold back. He gave a valiant effort but the three of us managed to bring him down ;). Definately a funtime. We tried to get a 4 v 4 going but the hour grew a bit late and keyboards were getting attacked by foreheads so we all sort of went our own merry way. Sonic also tossed me some influence so now Saber has two body slid/new costumed outfits (casual & gi)...now to get that Nictus-influenced look going on....

Yeah, you...when do we finally get to see the Cowboy in action? :p

I mean, we've all pretty much been in the arenas trying to beat up Sonic Star. You might as well place your chips on the line, right? :D

Come to think of it, I haven't seen Iron Pillar in a while....

The problem is my limited playing time. I get maybe an hour every night, and it's likely to be around 10pm Pacific Time. But, tell you what, next time you see me online, give me a hollar, and I'll get Cowboy for a match.

I'll be checking the Supergroup list and waiting for a certain name to turn blue. :)

The rest of you can do likewise, right? :D
