A mystic and his apprentice were hiking in the mountains. The apprentice stops, and asks the mystic, "Master, do you know the secret of life?"
The mystic, not stopping, replies, "Yes."
"Will you tell it to me, master?"
"No."
"Why not?"
The mystic stops, and shrugs. "It's a secret."

A man is sees another guy jumping up and down on top of a manhole in an alley, shouting "27! 27! 27!" Curious, he goes to find out why.
The man on the manhole says, "Oh, it makes you feel great! 27! 27! 27!"
"Why's that?"
"Well, here, you try." The guy on the manhole stepped off for the other man to step on.
He hopped cautiously, saying "27... 27... 27..." quietly.
The guy shook his head, "No! No! You have to do it with more feeling! Confidence!"
The man jumped a little more now, "27. 27. 27."
The guy still shook his head, "Say it like you mean it, man!"
The man got down to his knees, and leaped into the air, shouting "27!" at the top of his lungs--
Just then, the guy pulled out the manhole from beneath the man, and the man fell down into the sewers. The guy replaced the manhole, stepped on top of it once again, and started jumping, "28! 28! 28!"
The mystic, not stopping, replies, "Yes."
