At 00:16 - 00:21 you can see the Thugs have trenchcoats. They look nice.

Hm, weird. I know I've watched the earlier CoV trailers on gamspot. But for some reason I'm getting sound only, with just a black screen. Tried wieving one of the old movies and the same thing happened.
Red Electric Melee? That makes me sad :/

Oddly, it'll fit Silver Bolt since his secondary color is red. But I never thought of his lightning being red...

Any being displaying extremely high levels of martial arts prowess and/or violent emotions emits light in the form of a glowing aura. This aura is usually blue for 'good guys' and red for 'bad guys'. This is attributed to Good being higher in the electromagnetic spectrum than Evil.
this is also the reason for red energy blast and energy melee for villains.

Seriously, though, it did seems as if the devs decided to make Energy Blast for heroes blue, and villains red. Which means now they should make heroes' Energy Melee blue-white instead of pink. I think it would actually be pretty cool to have some variation in graphics between heroes and villains, at least in SOME places.
I dunno about electricity, though. I've tried the red tint on the Electricity Aura and I really didn't like the way it looked. I guess I just think of electricity as being blue or silvery-blue.

It is actually sort of bluish-purple, with individual red "dots" mixed in with the "blue" ones. It is VERY obvious if you compare the two side by side, as the hero version has only blue dots.
I'm guessing that the reason for the change was actually for the sake of Dominators, who don't have the luxury of picking melee and ranged as two different sets. Since they were all in the same set, their look was unified so it wouldn't look like it was just two Power Sets slapped together. (Which it really was)
(I guess to be perfectly honest this could only be for Doms, as I have yet to check a Corruptor's Energy Blasts. But I have heard others report this change as well)

I think they should make it red for Corruptors... Honestly, that's the main reason why I picked /Energy for my Dom.:P
And keep in mind, Electrical could be a multiple armour-color set, just as with Fire Armour

It's only Doms since, as MR pointed out, Corruptor energy blasts look exactly the same as Blasters. See?

That's cool for the squishies but I dunno how much I like the idea of red electrical effects for Petawatt. :|

Well, you can see some blue dots in that picture. They're mostly smaller and not in the central mass of the effect, but there are some.
I'm pretty sure Sandy has a bit more of a combination of the two colors. I will have to take a screenshot of her.

Damn man...you can barely see it, but nice catch :)
Probably since they only had to animate them for a few powers. It would be a good start.
And as for the red electric melee, they probably used the stuff from the Mu's.

About the red electrical powers, didn't anyone else think they looked like the blasts that the Mu Mystics have?

Man, those Thugs look cool. They not only have flowing Trenchcoats, but also Pistol holsters. If the DEV's might implement those as an automatic piece for Thug MM's, then it would only be a small step towards quivers for Archers (why can't the Dev's just add AT specific costumes?)
I really dig the moving helichopper, the new energy lances the Arachnos have, and the hanging Arachnoids in their webs.......
And I don't mind electric powers being red for evil......

I thought they were wearing skullcaps. I enjoy the look of animosity with the shades and masks they wear.

stupid gamespot I can't get it to work...be nice if the paying customers had some section on the website to goto where they could watch/DL these things w/o the gamespot hassle.

Guys, guys! Check out 0:56-58ish seconds in. The dude with the grey pants, tatoos and big white glowing fists is the electric melee brute. No red in sight.
My guess is that those red effects you guys are seeing is an Arachnos goon's ****.
