View Full Version : One of Our Own...(Tarberetta is in the Hosptial)

I just got an ingame message not to long ago from someone who knows Tarby. Apparently he was admitted into the hosptial recently for food poisoning, or so he thought..
It turns out that he really had a pancreatic attack and nearly died because of it.
It is to my understanding he is doing better right now and it looks like he'll be okay.
I'll give him a call later today if I get a chance.
Other than that I'll keep you guys posted.
My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.
Wish you a speedy recovery Tarbs.

I guess that explains why Tarbie's been so quiet lately. What exactly does a pancreatic attack do to you, anyway? It doesn't sound pleasant.
Get back with us soon, Tarbs!

Tarbaretta is in the hospital, or a guy who knows Tarberetta? Either way sucks, but be nice to know which.

Yes, Tarby is indeed a he. Is the first post really that vague? :eyebrow:

No, I'm just remembering the time when he and Esbat were pseudo-dating. Anyways.
Not really questions for a dude that's on death's door. I'm just ultra unobservant.

No, heh. I thought the title was pretty self explanitory.

And yes, Tarbs is a guy. We were all shocked to find out the truth. Especially poor Esbat...he's been scarred ever since.

Ack! A Pancreatic Attack, I'm assuming it has to do with the digestive enzymes attacking the pancreatic tissue and damaging the gland. If this is the case, this diagnosis is most commonly known as Pancreatitis, or inflammation of the Pancreas. Treatment often includes medications to relieve epigastric pain, intravenous fluids, and subtotal pancreatectomy if necessary. But hopefully it won't be that serious.
Anyway, get well soon Tarbs!

Tarby will come out of the attack just fine. I sympathize with him though, as my mother began to have gal-bladder attacks once (which ended when they removed it). It's a painful and frightening experience for the person experiencing something like this, not to mention frightening for the whole household.
Not life-threatening now that TJ is in the hospital, though. He'll be good as new!

Hey all! Thanks for all the well wishes. It has been an....experience, to say the least.
First let me say, SK and Bree, I recieved your voice mails 3 days ago through the reverse voice-mail access feature. Cell phones aren't allowed here in the hospital, so I couldn't call back and there is no long distance service from my room here (not to mention that your numbers are stored only on my phone and even starting it up is a nono :/ ).
Now, when I realized just how long I was going to be here I asked one of my best friends to message SK and Poison as they were the only 2 global names I could remember offhand. So sorry for the stranger sending you a message out of nowhere :)
As for me...well I'm *still* in the hospital, and although I don't know when I'll be going home yet, it has to be getting close as I'm now eating soft foods and not having any reactions.
I got to the hospital on Friday the 24th with no idea what was wrong with me. My abdomen hurt like hell, couldn't hardly stand on my own two feet, couldn't stop vomiting (and dry heaving). Eventually, the brown stuff I was bringing up occasionally, turned into blood. By the end of that day, the staff had managed to pump me full of pain meds, anti-stomach acid meds, and had drawn enough blood to get my my 3 gallon pin. I couldn't sleep all that night as I had to keep forcing myself to belch to keep myself uninflated (and that wasn't working the best :/ )
The next day the staff finally got a stomach pump tube down my nose and into myh stomach to pump out all the extra gas that was coming from outta nowhere, and they upgraded me to morphine to pain (that's good stuff!). For a laugh, it made my hallucinate alot :D
The only other problem was them waiting to see if my pancratitus (sp?) was going down enough to start eating food again to avoid having to put in a central line to feel my throught IV. Six days later, with no recovery in sight and my whole body hurting like (muscle cramps!) from lack of nutrients, they finally got a central line in me and started me on IV nutrition. So, that's how it's been even since. I don't have to worry about dying anymore, just when I get to go home.
The dying part is no joke either, the blood I was vomiting out when I first got here was explained to me as my inflated enzymes digesting my own intestines. Normal enzyme counts are supposed to be 40 and 50, both of mine were 990.
So, I've had alot of time to sit and think about what I've been doing in life, what I'd change, and what I *am* going to change in my life when I get out of here. I think of it as a wake-up call and a second chance. I do laugh and am happy to think though that when I thought of friends to notify, I thought of the guru community. You guys and gals mean alot to me, and I know your thoughts and prayers have without a doubt helped me along in my recovery.
I cannot wait till I get a chance to bust heads in-game with all of you again!
I'll try to keep the updates coming, however internet access in my room was not an easy thing to get and I hade to literally back-door my way out onto the net, but hey you guy's are worth it
