It's as good a place as any to use as the foundation for my new wave of mods coming soon. :) coh.razorangel.com is dead, obviously. hehehe.
I'll pop one out for this (http://www.digitalfeces.com/coh/malefact.jpg) over the weekend, if I can get it perfected to my taste. :)
Probably one to change the crappy Swiss Army Gun into something better and sleeker like the Council assault rifles or the M-16 replicas in the game.

What about making the Axe or Mace a Hammer? could that be done?
Also How would you go about making the weapons really shiny metal could you tell me? I have some art skill :)
Thanks!

In most basic terms, I've figured out how to swap out one in-game model for another. It's not always perfect, but it seems to work for the most part.
FYI, in that pic, I'd swapped the broadsword for a ballbat. I could make it just about any weapon, though, even some props. hell, maybe even Jurassik's old-car hammer if I could find it. :)
I've got to run it through some personal tests before I call it "good," but it's working initially and I haven't seen any ill-effects in-game.
I've also come up with a method to tune the hell down out of certain obnoxious powersets like Regeneration to make them look much better (imo) and far less intrusive. All without crippling other powersets by modifying shared textures the way we used to. The downside to this kind of modification is that it will require hand-editting the altered file with every patch that updates the file in-game. Probably only with every major Issue patch every couple of months is all, though.
Another problem is that this will wind up being very personalized so it's better that I share the method for everyone to make the changes themselves. Myself, I like to turn the effects off from Sprint, Super Jump, Regen, and Focused Accuracy. Some people might want some turned off, all, or more. I'll start by posting some basic mods that I'm sure alot of people will like, then work on writing up a visual guide to it afterwards. :)

Unfortunately, weapons aren't bumpmapped, so there's no way to shine them up. :( Now, there might be a way to tweak player weapons so they have particle effects, but it would be pretty generic because you'd have to use existing particle drivers from weapons like the carnies' energy swords, and it definitely wouldn't be one-size-fits-all in that case. That's assuming I could even figure out how to do it to begin with. :chuckle:
Secondly, Katana is a no-go for mods. :( It's one of the very few weapons based only for left-handed draw and wield. Some things might work, but for the most part, it doesn't look right at all. For example, the KoA sword gets flipped backwards if you try and replace it. :\ Double-sided weapons like a battle axe or broadsword may work, though. The muffler prop that freakshow throw around kind of does. :D

I just love the bat. I've always wanted one... it'll be even more fun in PvP. :P

After messing around with the bat some more, I've found some glaring problems in trying to make it work right. It winds up that trying to swap the sword's name "Geo_WepR_Sword_1" with the larget name "Geo_WepR_Baseballbat" is causeing me some royal pains. While I've been able to get it to work on it's own, any weapon assignments and powers that come down the line in the file after it no longer function.
I'm pretty sure there's a workaround I can find to flesh this out, but I'm not seeing it atm. I have the same problem trying to change the assault rifle to the slick 5th column marksman version. I can change it to a couple of different guns, but not the 5th one that I want. :p
I'm gonna keep beating at it until I figure it out, though. :p

If you figure out how to do the gun one, then please please please tell me. I've been wanting to have one for a while.
