So I'm at work...again...and I don't want to be here, again...yesterday I gave you this little gem, virtual lite brite:

Today, however, I have something far more destructive and fun.
Gurus, I give you.... ANT CITY (http://fun.drno.de/flash/antcity.swf)!

 I posted a link to Ant City ages ago on the "other" forums and got naught for a reply. Just to be sure, I posted the link again here, on page 2 of Link Haven in the Humor House section. There better be a similar response in this thread(dead silence) or I am going to blow my lid at someone.

DAMN YOU, MOUSY-LOOKING BESPECTACLED GIRL IN THE BLUE DRESS!
Also, hitting either of the boys seems to be bad news. One slows your human cannonball down (and takes away one of your upward thumps, I think), and the other elevates the angle of his trajectory, which spells bad news for gaining distance with what momentum you have, unless the altered angle is closer to the magical ideal of 45 degrees.
Who knew that hitting some poor dude with your bike could be so much fun? :D

Miss Mousy got you again, huh?
Yeah, you have me whipped. I'm still working on it, though.
Let's see...Ms. Mousy is obviously bad. Hit her and she'll gasp and stop you cold by letting Mr. Cannonball hug her and bury his head in her cleavage. The little tramp.
Mr. Donut's iffy. If Mr. Cannonball's moving at a shallow angle, he's just what you need for more distance. If you're anywhere upwards of 40-ish degrees, he's an inconvenience. Travelling at steeper angles not only means less distance but also less likelihood of hitting someone good when you need them most.
Mr. Slow's bad. Inertia times angle of trajectory equals distance. And inertia equals mass times velocity. You can't do anything about Mr. Cannonball's fictitious mass, therefore you need more velocity to gain more distance. Mr. Slow's impact on your distance should be obvious by now.
The three girls who hit Mr. Cannonball are so very, very good. Ms. Hadoken, Ms. Axe Kick and Ms. Uppercut are your very best friends. I prefer Ms. Hadoken, because she wears the pinkish dress and is the easiest one to identify, so you can adjust Mr. Cannonball's aim accordingly.
Lanky, Serious-Looking Brunette Girl (henceforth, Ms. Serious) can be good or bad...bad when she blocks you from Ms. Hadoken, Ms. Axe Kick or Ms. Uppercut, good when she blocks you from Ms. Mousy. She doesn't seem to block you from Mr. Donut however, being merely content to rush in, stand next to him and say "dot dot dot".
You only get a few Aerial Ups for the entire game, but you can earn a virtually infinite number of Aerial Downs. The percentage starts at 0% and seems to increase as Mr. Cannonball's falling; Get 100% and you get another Aerial Down. Aerial Ups are obviously best used at higher altitude, the better to gain more distance off a single bump; They can also be used to avoid Ms. Mousy and anyone else you'd rather overshoot. Aerial Downs are handy for aiming for nice people to bump into; After you've run out of Aerial Ups (and have nothing but Aerial Downs to use), use an Aerial Down to aim for Ms. Hadoken, Ms. Axe Kick or Ms. Uppercut. Bumpditty-bump-bump.
If you can make out the faces and/or identify the colors of the boxes and borders, use the three scrolling mugshots with the pointers to determine who's coming up just off-screen. Ms. Mousy's picture has a green box and border; Keep an Aerial Up handy if you have one, and avoid her like the plague.
Those are all the tips I've come up with. Did I miss anything?

[PAGE 1]
You're just standing around, minding your own business, when suddenly some very rude girl on a bicycle runs into you at top speed. And somehow you survive an impact which is hard enough to send you airborne.

[PAGE 2]
You arc through the air and bounce along the pavement, thankful that you are somehow still alive despite being in incredible pain. And then your path is blocked by a slender, dark-haired schoolgirl clad in a blue vest, a blue skirt and a blue necktie. She looks like the quiet, serious sort. This could only be the Miss Serious you've heard about.
http://img271.echo.cx/img271/526/MsSeriousHi.jpg
Turn to Page 3.
[PAGE 3]
Just when you're about to slam bodily into Miss Serious, she sidesteps and raises her fist with determination, as if to add emphasis to her vow, which turns out to be something in Japanese which you can't quite comprehend. In the air overhead appears the nonsensical translation "Through and Run!!", a cryptic passage which could only have been imposed in this reality by a mad elder god. Yet somehow you empathically feel the meaning of her message: "I will stop you from touching the next person you're destined to touch."
http://img271.echo.cx/img271/4421/MsSeriousGo.jpg
With nothing to stop your flight, you strike the pavement and take to the air again. Standing on the street below are three other young people like yourself, and the grim realization comes over you that you cannot avoid all of them. You twist and maneuver through the air, guiding your trajectory as well as you can.
If you fall on Miss Uppercut, turn to Page 4.
If you fall on Miss Mousy, turn to Page 5.
If you fall on Mister Doughnut, turn to Page 6.
[Page 4]
You know Miss Uppercut to be the combative, aggressive type. If you so much as fall near her, she will smack you back into orbit, thus perpetuating your torment. As insult to injury, she'll leave a good-sized bruise. You grit your teeth and brace for the blow.
http://img271.echo.cx/img271/821/MsSeriousBad.jpg
But to your wonder, Miss Serious keeps her word! Racing in from nowhere, she slides in front of Miss Uppercut, interfering with the vindictive girl's strike and allowing you to pass unhindered.
You bounce a few more times and slowly roll to a stop. While the rude girl on the bicycle jeers and taunts you over something about a "sucky score", the ambulance hauls you away to the hospital. You spend four weeks in intensive care, with Miss Serious watching over your bed every night. Eventually you make a full recovery. Then you marry Miss Serious and the priest pronounces you Mister and Mistress Cannonball. You move out to the suburbs, have four children and live long and happy lives together. But your kids never understand why you utterly refuse to teach them how to ride a bicycle.
The End
[Page 5]
Miss Mousy is the quiet and nurturing girl-next-door type. If anyone can spare you from the rest of your torment, she is the one. You have suffered greatly from your many impacts against the asphalt, and the plummets from several stories in height have proven entirely terrifying. Miss Mousy's firm, soft and ample bosom offers the promise of comfort for your weary head and the most welcome respite that mankind has ever known.
http://img271.echo.cx/img271/9110/MsSeriousGood.jpg
But alas, Miss Serious is the jealous type! If she cannot have you, then she will ensure that Miss Mousy cannot have you either! And hence it is all too convenient for her to remember her promise....
Miss Serious butts between you and your would-be savior, shattering your hopes of love and comfort in the blink of an eye. Without Miss Mousy to stop your flight, you bounce and tumble on and on, endlessly dogged by the rude girl on the bicycle, your deliverer of unmatched anguish.
Eventually you roll off a cliff and die, and your last words are Miss Mousy's name, still lingering on your crushed, swelling, trembling lips.
The End
[Page 6]
Mister Doughnut walks along the street with his arms full of snack cakes, completely oblivious to your rapid descent. He would be gravely wounded by your crushing form, and the guilt you would feel would fetter you for years.
And then you know elation as you recall Miss Serious's promise! She will protect Mister Doughnut from you! She will spare you from doing him harm, and all will be well!
Miss Serious races in from the ether, bearing on her sweet shoulders the deflection of harm and peace for both you and Mister Doughnut! You witness her approach and your heart rises.
http://img271.echo.cx/img271/5373/MsSeriousHuh.jpg
But then the unexpected strikes! Miss Serious secretly harbors some deep-seated phobia against touching boys, and she hesitates from pushing Mister Doughnut out of the way. Instead, she comes to a halt and begins to tremble and breathe heavily, warding off a psychologically-inflicted panic scant inches from your soon-to-be victim.
Your body slams into Mister Doughnut, casting a shower of doughnuts and Hostess treats high into the air. The angle of the impact propel you further into the atmosphere, arcing and bouncing, arcing and bouncing. And you don't stop arcing and bouncing for a long, long time....
When your malnourished body comes grinding to a halt months later, the police have you carried to the hospital for intensive care and recovery, after which you are found to be driven by a firmly embedded psychosis; The board of psychologists declare you to be unsound of mind and you are immediately transferred to a psychiatric care institution...a modern-day euphemism for an insane asylum. You live out the rest of your days mumbling nothing more than a name, over and over:
"Mister Doughnut."

Wasnt Time Killers a bad Arcade fighting game where you cut off your opponents limbs?
Yep. And I completely ruled it with Matrix. Jump up. Hit Right Foot rapid-fire to kick the other guy in the head while keeping yourself aloft. Repeat until the other guy's dizzy. Let yourself drop toe-to-toe with him and mash all five buttons to take off his head and both arms with your decap-attack. Round goes to Matrix. Do it again. Match goes to Matrix. :D
She had a mean Left Hand punch too. Her right arm was normal, but her left arm was cybernetic and it would telescope out Dhalsim style. You could dizzy someone and keep them at range just by standing and jamming on Left Hand, but then it was easier for the other guy to simply do a decap-attack and hack your left arm off.
It was disappointing that Time Killers wouldn't let you cut off your opponent's legs; You could still slash their legs up and leave cuts and gouges, but the legs never came off. But then Bloodstorm--the unofficial sequel to Time Killers--came along and fixed that while adding victory bonuses for if you were still able to kick the other guy's ass despite having no arms, no legs or no limbs at all; Hopping around on your crotch and headbutting the other guy to death wasn't easy, after all. ;)
There was lots of pretty red blood in both games, of course (or green blood in the case of Mantazz the space bug). Get slashed or stabbed in the arms or legs or torso or head, get a new wound and leave drops of blood on the ground. Lose an arm, leave even more blood on the ground. Try to punch with an arm that had already been lopped off, gouts of blood would spit out of the sundered stump and arc gracefully to splatter on the ground. Lose your head? Blood geysers from both neck stumps.
Yes, the graphics and animation for both games sucked. But then, you weren't exactly playing those two games for the graphics and animation, were you? >:]
(And since you didn't commit your usual to/too/two error, I feel obligated to instead inform you that it's not necessary to capitalize "arcade". And you skipped a couple of apostrophes. :P )

Some tips for those having trouble: Crank your seat back to almost all the way down, but not quite there. Then, try and get the shot wall so that the arrow is pointing to the top of the lighthouse.
Next, when you hit a pink cloud, hit up lots of times, each time you hit it, you go up further. This works for me, I get over 1100 every time.

I find that initial hieght isnt as important as forward velocity. I can consistently hit 1200 but aiming the uprights above the lighthouse and going for forward velocity (there's a step ladder of clouds that if you hit them, you well be equal in hieght to the Blimp). And hitting those clouds is paramount. I wonder if its possible to clear the entire map (note the progress bar at the bottom left, look slike the whole course is about 2000-2500 km.)

I was never a huge fan of Space Invaders. I always liked Astiroids.

Asteroids is good too, but I happened to stumble on Space Invaders yesterday and had a lot of fun playing it since it had been quite a while since my last venture with that game.

OH MY GOD this one's addicting -- it's another one of those MMO's where you log on every day and do various activities a la the Alien Adoption Agency, Tribal Wars, etc but set in a cyberpunk setting, it's fun as hell -- I've been playing it for about a week now and can't stop:

Here's another click a few times every day web-based "MMO", this one being based on professional wrestling. It's still in a rather early stage of the game, though they're constantly making improvements. It's at least captured my attention for the last few weeks.

This one's set in a pre-pub 16 Ultima Online setting. Kill trammies and baddies for fun and profit.

Create your brute, he fights, watch him kick some ass, level up, repeat. Simple. Easy. Addictive. Flash games FTW.
