dunno if any of you remember or picked this up. But I had a friend get me a copy while I was sick to view. And though it may not compare to the standards that smallville has or the graphic techs of todays modern stuff. But for 1990 stuff..flash kicked ass. Thou their was some things I didnt agree with. But overall the Flash DvD was a good pick up for any flash fan. Heck my comeback character before "Cassidy" was "Dashdevil"...my tribute toon to the scarlet speedster whom I think I wanna bring back (been caught up in the CoV) but back on topic, The DvD was indeed a great watch, took me back to the 90s and I must say, if your a fan of Mark Hamil's work, (I'm not, but hes da man when it comes to the voice of the joker) you'll enjoy him as the trickster. I cant help but to watch Disc 6. last show with him in it. It made my sick ass laugh over and over. Gonna show this ta the homies in brooklyn when I feel a bit better.

I actually video-taped these episodes back then, because given history, a good show is always eventually cancelled. I missed a few eps, but I got them through a friend.
Still, being who I am, I picked up the DvDs of this.
I haven't sat down and watched them all, but it is interesting that they do hold up well, but, as you say, are a bit dated; at the time, those were the most expensive episodes for a tv program ever filmed in the states (before that, the winner of most expensive was Battlestar Galactica). I believe something like a million dollars were spent on effects. It's funny because I can see duplicating some of these effects today for much cheaper. The cost probably did not go ALL to special effects; the background sets looked kinda pricey as well.
The stories are a bit "simple", but they do hold up well enough. Actually, I would have liked some commentary on the second audio track of the DvD, either actor, director, or someone commenting on a few episodes. Maybe even some hidden secrets, like press conferences or whatever. But, unfortunately, all we get are the episodes. Not that it's a bad thing, but it would have been nice to hear more about "behind the scenes" stuff.
Actually, besides RL business picking up, it's yet another reason I have been away from CoH and the boards the last few days; watching Flash and other DvDs that I need to eventually watch (since I bought them). I think the stories evolve nicely. But Iris did get the short-end of the stick, characterization-wise. Still, I understood why they made her unlikable for the most part (so the main character can have other avenues at romance and more stories could be told).

Amanda Pays playing Tina, drove me wild. her accent and pretty face did make my day  sad that barry nor her got it on. anyway I agree that they should have had features to the disc. but then again I think they pulled this out to see how it would sell. If i'm not mistaken they are thinking of making another live action Flash show. Its between flash and aquaman I hear. but thats just rumors on the net. I do know for sure their has been talks of the Flash movie, starring that dude from blade playing wally.

Ryan Reynolds as the Flash?
Not only can I picture that but I'd definitely go see that. That guy can say "Peanut Butter Sandwich" and make it sound like a great joke...

As much as I'd like to see an Aquaman movie, because it would be something different from the norm, I think we can all agree the Flash movie would win-out over it when the final verdict is rendered.
Actually, Aquaman would work out to be a pretty kick-ass TV series, but would probably suffer some budget troubles (because most of it would, or should, be underwater.) I could see some writers making compromises and setting up about half (or more) of the episodes on land.

(Heck, even Patrick McGee-"Man from Atlantis" had most of his adventures on land, but let's hope underwater things can be done cheaper in today's standards.)

if they make into a aquaman TV show. I'd prolly wont watch it. for the fact they will try to smallvillies it, buy turning it into the OC on water. Think about it. It will be about a young aquaman on the beach somewhere, going to beach parties, trying to score with some hot chick, and at the same time save the ocean. gimme a fuggin break lol. this is so run of the mill stuff. I really hope they do a Flash TV show again and movie. :D

An Aquaman TV show could be cool. They could go one of two ways with it.
They could "Smallville" it. I would do this as a young Arthur Curry, who discovers his heritage as the prince of Atlantis. The show would be split betwen his life on the surface, and his life in Atlantis.
Or, they could do it as a Sci-Fi show. In this case, I would do it about Arthur the man and King of Atlantis. Lots of special effects for the underwater stuff, and drama as his half-brother tries to steal the throne.
I'd give it a try.

I see your point as a sci-fi epic. but knowing WB they wont do it that way. They'll try so hard to make it one of the drama shows thats so big these days, to attract teens and mess up the story along the way lmao. But I really want another Flash TV show with wally. They got the doe, they just need the sho.

Uh, where have you people been? There IS an Aquaman series coming. He was a guest appearance on Smallville this season and they've already opted him as a new series.
Aquaman TV info (http://www.aquamantv.com/)
It's being developed by the people who developed Smallville, which is good or bad depending on how you feel about that show.
I personally like Smallville, but to me Aquaman has always been a 'meh' character. Look at how many different series and specials DC themselves have done trying to make him more popular. I don't see this show faring any better then Birds of Prey did.

the show will get canned just like "Birds Of Prey", Nice point chain. Aquaman might have chance if they take masked Rev's idea and go sci-fi with it, inside of Smallvillie OC style. trust me.. they cruisin for a bruisin if they take that road. Its been ran to the damn ground already. I'm really sick of this surffer $hit they try to add to these DC/WB shows. :P

RE: The Aquaman TV show.
"In the comic, Aquaman's the lost king of Atlantis, but in our version, he is Arthur Curry, this twentysomething who owns a dive shop."
What the..?!? Aw, comeon! How can someone finding out they are the lost king of Atlantis NOT be a recepe for drama! Man, that sucks already.

About A.C.'s powers: "He can breathe underwater and swim faster than humans and has super strength underwater," Gough tells CFQ. "He can operate on land, but we're playing with the fact that if he's exposed to water, his powers kick in on land. This is being done for a couple of reasons. One, we want to tell stories on land and not just spend entire episodes on the water. Two, this gives you the ability to expand his crime-fighting abilities on land as well. What's also good about Aquaman is that his Kryptonite is that if he doesn't get water, he dehydrates, gets sick and weakens, which is much easier than looking for a Kryptonite rock." Later in the interview, Gough says "What we're thinking is that his exposure to water on land gives him limited super strength. It's kind of like Popeye with spinach, which is the easiest analogy."
Yeah, I don't care how accurate it is, that's the last analogy I would have come up with.
