Following the hugely successful resurrection of Family Guy, Fox execs are reportedly in talks to bring Futurama back from the dead.

The studio has begun talks to revive the Emmy-winning animated series and produce a limited number of new episodes, thanks to a resurgence in the show's popularity on DVD and in reruns, Variety reports.

Good point, but it was only one episode, and Invader Zim was cut all to short as well. Als, Invader Zim had the greatest Halloween episode EEVVVAAAA!!!!!

I hope this isn't just a tactic to get people to buy the dvd sets to "brush up" before the new episodes goto production...

This same chatter has been occuring off and one since they canceled Futurama. Technically there's nothing to talk about because Fox owns Futurama and can just order more episodes. The only "talking" I can imagine would be for a deal with Adult Swim like they did with Family Guy so that new episodes on Fox are shown later in the week on adult swim.

So best case scenario its up to adult swim agreeing to Fox terms to get us Futurama newness.

Worst case scenario they're just generating hype to increase DVD sales.

David X. phoned me about an hour ago and said that this Futurama project
is a done deal! Here's the word from DX---
There are 4 DVD movies that we'll start recording at the end of July or
August.Full feature length FUTURAMA movies.
Everybody is excited to get back together--as I am!
