Powerhelm, the hero considered missing for nearly a week returned on December 18th to Paragon City.
Here is a reprinting of the press release sent out yesterday afternoon:
"For those of you who don't know me my name is Powerhelm. While on a mission approximately a week ago I was taken prisoner in an alternate dimension by Arachnos agents.
While imprisoned by them I was beaten and tortured to the point of near death. Since my powers allow me to recover from injury faster than the average person, I would heal my injuries in a few hours. Unfortunately, once fully healed, they would torture me again.
A Longbow agent working inside as a spy orchastrated my escape. I'm sad to say she was killed in the process.
Her sacrifice was not in vain though. As we made our way through the Arachnos complex I acquired some information regarding a plan to launch a massive attack on Siren's Call and gain a foothold in the city.
This can not be allowed to happen. I'm asking any hero cleared for duty in Siren's Call to join me in its defense. We must make a stand."
Make a stand they did indeed. Due to world events and the multitude of troubling situations occuring in Paragon City daily, only a handful of heroes were able to assist Powerhelm.
Early on it appeared Powerhelm would be making this stand his last stand as only he and a handful of Longbow agents were present when a swarm of Arachnos minions came crashing upon them.
Powerhelm healed and shielded every Longbow agent he could and helped to keep the Arachnos attackers busy long enough for two more squads of Longbow to come to their aid. Only a few minutes later on the other side of Siren's Call he did this again. This time with a slightly larger force and with the same results, a victory for good. Soon after these two victories more heroes began joining Powerhelm. Several of the Ziggurat escapees also appeared to aid the Arachnos agents.
Among the heroes that came to Powerhelm's aid was another long-time hero, Hobo Healer, who Powerhelm was teaming up with for the first time.
As Longbow agents began pouring into the Call, the city's heroes began to arrive. Few of the well known heroes were present however some of the city's less known heroes earned a name for themselves yesterday.
On a related subject, the android Alterhelm is currently still an active hero in the city. His presence raises many questions since he was claiming to be Powerhelm in an android body. He continues to carry his hero license, however, he is under near constant surveillance.
