Hello. Though you may not know who I am, my information on the Maligne Family should be of use, seeing as you have begun to notice the uprising of the fresh new generation. Who I am shall be revealed in the end have no fears.
First off, the family's first trace is shown in Italy during the Napoleonic Wars. The records of French scientists who were confused by the strange happenings of the Maligne Family Estate. Other numerous accounts are shown throughout the the times that passed till modern day emergence became apparent, though nothing of true substantiality or real need in relevancy.
Now to more recent times, Slasher Jack was the first Maligne blood to come to fame in Paragon City, mostly due to fighting alongside such ranks of Atlas and his council of friends. His reign across the city was a prestigous one, where everybody knew of his feats in the unlawful era that was the Depression. He married, to the delight of many, a beautiful unknown heroine known as Wind Soul, and together they fathered a child, Paul Maligne, later known to all as Lord Paragon.
As predicted due to the nature of such families like the Maligne's, Paul grew up to be a phenomanally powerful mutant. It is said that only that pure a combination of mutant genes could have produced the phenomonal creature that Paul was. He grew up and joined the close knit community of heroes that Statesman formed along with other major names of the town. It was inevitable that somebody would fall in love with his grace and elegance, and Melanie Greggs, a semi active heroine known as Light Cry.
The children produced in such a marriage were Atom Slash, Lost Crane, and Stone Star, or Peter, Francesca, and Ferdinand by birth names. Around the time of their births (which occured in '83, '84, and '85 respectively) Slasher Jack and Wind Soul died of an unknown cause within months of each other. Soon tragedy would strike the Maligne Family with subsequent rise of three forces: Crey, the Rikt, and Nicolas Maligne.

Nicolas Maligne is a man with an interesting origin and an even more interesting character. Unknown and unthought of by many, Slasher Jack had a bastard son. This of course led to a major cover up, and eventual hush up of the whole matter led to a major cause of anger and hatred between the human known as, Tara Riechstein. And of course it was to be expected from what is considered one of the foulest deeds on the planet. The mutation of Nicolas was a shapeshifting mutation, soon to be found as one of the most horrible of mutations to ever go through. As years passed one Nicolas grew increasingly schizophrenic and paranoid, constantly changing appearances and his personality, till finally around the Cold War, he discovered an even more gruesome mutation.
While engaging a thug off the streets, he accidently unlocked a key in that thugs mind that could open a mind to the individuals mutation, though in a more violent and unnatural way. For instance, this mutant specialized in pyrotechnics, and on the violent activation of such a mutation, the thug proceeded to explode in a vast array of heat.
Such power should not have landed in the hands of an insane man.
In more recent accounts Nicolas is responsible for the fall of the capture of Light Cry, who followed a false call into an ambush by Crey Labs, later to be used by a new division of Crey specializing in Nictus studies. The children of Lord Paragon were then taken from their home and sold off, all with heavy amnesiac medicine so that their parents wouldn't be remembered. As a sweet prize of collateral, Slasher Jack and Wind Soul were shut down from their powers and sent a psychological killer into the minds of Nicolas' father and his wife.
The worse tragedy came with Lord Paragon a few weeks later. Shapeshifting into the form of Light Cry, he persuaded Lord Paragon that all their children were behind the portal and that the 5th Column had stolen them. As soon as Lord entered the Portal was destroyed, leaving Lord PAragon lost in another dimension.

As for the children of Lord Paragon, Nicolas's next deed was one of great disgust. In order to separate them he brought to various separate organizations of the city. Atom Slash (Peter Maligne, the oldest son) was brought to Crey Labs to manipulate the atomic energy in the surrounding air. Stone Star (Ferdinand Maligne, the youngest son), with his stone skin was instrumental in increasing the defense of Freakshow tankers. Lost Crane was unfortunately an interesting creature, so interesting that poor little Francesca and her magnificent wings were sent to the Sky Raider for future studies.
Also around this time two children were born from a human womb bearing the blood of a Maligne. It occured as a rape, though it was unknown to the woman, who had been in a relationship of the time of the pregnancy. She had no clue who Nicolas Maligne was and how he had erased him from her memory. All she new was she had two beautiful fraternal twins, a brother and a sister. So Daniel and Elle came into exsistence. They grew up normal, like any normal children, with loving parents and all. That is to say, until their sixteenth birthday... Their real dad showed up. On this dark day, the events cannot be known for three distinct reasons. First off, Nicolas Maligne had transformed into numerous people in his head, creations of his various emotions. For instance his conscience split from jealousy, and anger from sadness and so forth. Consequently he has become quit insane with a severe case of multi-personality disorder. Also let it be added that the dominant traits rule over the lesser used traits. for instance remorse is of less power than hate, therefore he is of a most hateful nature than the norm. This being said, the only people to view the events that unfolded in the house of Elle and Daniel and live are Elle, Daniel, and the guilt of Nicolas Maligne.
Elle and Daniel grew up and lived together, both trying to control their powers and act normal again but they couldn't. Society wouldn't let them. Their power wouldn't let them. More importantly their father wouldn't let them. Always on their trail to kill them they began to finally give up and look for refuge within well established super groups. They both took on the names Gravity Spill and Marrow Lash, due to their own peculiar powers. Daniel could control the surrounding gravitational forces in his area, causing wormholes and singularities in the surrounding area. Elle was proficient in extracting exterior "bones" from her body and regenerating at an amazing rate, due to time manipulation. such manipulation makes her very fast and very elusive. Well enough about them. In fact enough I'll make it sure that its enough. I myself have sent this letter to ensure that I have a challenge set out ahead. It would be too easy for me too kill them outright and the collateral damage is so much more ... fufilling.
